Infinity in the Void – Freedom in the Abyss

First class

Today is the first day of my class, since it isn't mandatory and would only help them remove a year from their time in Libertas. Which for the students here, is from five to eight years.

I thought more would come, but I only have a hundred and fifty-eight students sign up. Split into four groups, and each group has three sessions each week.

But for the first class, to make the process even more simple... I'd gather all four groups for today.

On a wooden chair I dragged all the way from the orientation hall, under a patio umbrella and sipping some coffee, I leisurely checked the attendance list. All the while I made the student sit under the sun.

"Yup, only missing three students.", I nodded to myself and threw the note aside.

"How did you even count?", one student asked.

"Shut up.", I stood up from my chair, kicking the patio umbrella far away. The students just stare as it finally landed, having a 90-degree dent in it, "I have my ways."

By this, I mean Utopia, which takes less than a second. I was just checking the boxes. Hmm, my stunt made the students silent.

"Now, children.", I clapped my hands, "I trust you all have read the description for this course, but just in case you guys have reading comprehension problems or are just dyslexic. I will go over them again."

"Firstly, by joining and completing this course you will get a year off from this place, that is not counting passing, which will slash off another year."

I heard murmurs as the students discussed the topic. They are excited and some already saying goodbye to their friends.

"Secondly, I will not take responsibility for your injuries. I am a Hunter, and holding back is something I seldom do. Though I can guarantee your bones won't break."

Someone raised her hand.

"Yes, Miss Robin.", I nodded.

"Isn't that against the law?", she asked.

"Yes.", I stare at her, "Moving on, you can fight each other here if it's not too dangerous. I would've let you fight to the death if it wasn't for Francis."

Some frowned and some let out a sigh of relief. There is a bullying issue here, I can sense it.

"And lastly, if you miss a session, you will be subjected to mandatory extra lessons. I will personally drag you out of your dorm room if I have to.", I look around, they are very well-behaved out of fear, "Of course, you can join in for some extra lesson if you want to, just submit a request to my office."

Some of the frat boys are excited.

"Okay.", I clapped my hands, "For the first lesson, you need to learn that there is always a bigger fish. So all of you, attack me at the same time—"

I threw a kick behind me right into a kid who teleported behind me, knocking him out instantly. I almost rupture his organs there.

"Is he... dead?", one of the boys asked.

"No, but his life is flashing before his eyes.", I crossed my arms, "I didn't even get to finish, quite rude if I do say so myself."

"I won't be using my God Slayer.", I pointed at Ouroboros Omniscia behind the chair, "And don't touch it, the coffin will quite literally eat you alive."

A student raised his hand, and I nodded, "Why is it moaning?"

Everyone chuckled. I just shake my and let out a sigh.

"That's the battery, an ancient god or something.", I shrugged.

"Isn't that, like, heretical?", one of them voiced their opinion.

"I can't be a heretic if I don't know which religion I'm offending."

The whole class laughed. Yes, laugh, let's have your fun before my fun.

"Now, your task is to knock me down at least once. I will retaliate, of course.", I look down at the poor boy who thought he had the chance, "You can start now."

They looked at each other, then nodded.

I felt the ground rumbles, they are trying to knock me off balance from the get-go...

Hah... do they think it is this easy?

"Deconstruct.", I tapped my foot before anything else could happen.

The ground broke apart, sending the students flying from the sudden force.

"I did say I was an Alchemist, didn't I?", I smiled, "Reconstruct."

The landscape completely changed into a shallow marsh. Everyone got their clothes dirty and tried to run away.

Hmm.

I caught two boys trying to punch me from both sides. Bending my arms, I strike them in the face with my elbows.

Just in time to kick an arrow away. I tapped my foot, creating a torrent of stone spikes at the archer who ran away.

There are some that hesitate and stay in the back. I want them to join too but I don't want to be charged with assault, excessive force is enough. So I'll let them be.

I landed a drop kick on a gym rat girl's shoulder, making her fall in pain. Then raising my sleeve to block a fireball.

They have no way of beating me, and I made it clear

"Anyone want to try?", I asked the ones who were watching.

All of them shook their head, not wanting to fight me. Good, they are learning.

"Uhh... what about the ones who got knocked out?", one of the girls asked.

"I have just the thing.", I smiled.

Walking over to Ouroboros Omniscia, I opened the sides to the medicine section. Here includes whatever Sinclair shoved in and some of the pills I made from Hope's Dew.

I took the pill bottle and threw it to one of the students.

"Give each one of them a pill, and we are now on a ten-minute break. So rest up and think what this class is about.", I went back to the chair and sat down.

These children, I think I underestimated them. Some are brash but that's just the minority, they know how to pick their fight and when to stay out. I'll still bully them though.

Hmm? My phone rang.

"[Your Highness, there is an emergency.]", Utopia spoke to me.

"What's wrong?", what is it now?

"[The Enigma Code had return in their true form.]"

Dammit, I thought I got rid of her!!

"How did she find us?!", I clicked my to tongue.

"[The Enigma Code has a very bad sense of direction. That is the reason they need a guide, or else they will wander aimlessly. And in that endless wandering, they found me.]", he explained, "[They are currently standing motionless on the deck, Your Highness.]"

Hah... fucking hell.

"You and Enna keep an eye on Lughz Dustur for me.", I ordered.

"[As you command, Your Highness.]"

I let out a sigh, I have to check back in the ship tonight. Taking a sip of my coffee, I look back at the class.

They are going fine, a bit terrified of me but that's okay. From the look on their faces, some of them think I'm cool.

Oh, one of them approached me. He was an average white boy, I think his name was Drake, brown hair that had a slight shine to it.

"Umm, can I ask about the field trip?", he asked, looking away shyly.

"Sure.", I smiled, "What do you want to know?"

"It's that you don't allow gay people to be on the field trip—"

I shut him off with a glare, "I didn't say that, where on the form did I specify don't allow gay people?"

He started to sweat, "Uh..."

"Is it the LGBT thing? Then yeah, I don't allow it. You like the same gender? That's fine with me. I just hate people that make it their whole personality. I mean, I am Greek, we fuck whoever we like."

You are literally talking to the one whose whole mythology is a guy getting too horny.

"So as long as you don't flaunt your gender identity or whatever, I'm chill. And when faced with monsters bigger than yourself, all of this and that politic get thrown out of the window.", I shrugged, "I will at least guarantee your survival, but any stupid mistake you make is your own fault."

I expect at least three to get mauled by otters.

"Anything else?", I stare at him.

"N-no...", and he walked away. There were some eyes on him as he left, probably overheard our conversation.

Well, it is time for class to resume.

"Everyone, gather up!", I got up from my chair, "Now that you all know there is someone stronger, better than you, me, out and about."

I scan my eyes over them, some are talking and grumbling about my rough treatment. It's called tough love, kids. Or in my case, malicious conduct.

"Don't fight unless you absolutely have to, that's the first lesson I want you all to burn into your core. Don't let pride take the better of you.", heh, looks who talking, "And for legal reasons, plus insistence from Francis, I can't teach you my martial arts."

Some of them were disappointed, and one of them raised their hand to ask why.

"Because what I have doesn't practice restraint, it goes in and kills the thing in front of you.", Pankration and Muay Thai are not clean martial arts, "So I'll teach you a mixture of fighting styles and tips on what you should do in different situation. This isn't martial art, so no fancy movement, just correct form."

"Now, everyone who didn't join the fight, run for half the yard."

The ones who fought me laughed, and the ones who stayed away from the fight whined. Their suffering feeds me.

An hour and a half is more than enough time for these students, seeing them all lying on the grass, exhausted. After running around, I had them do basic stretching exercises. But that's it for today.

Suck for the ones that have class after this.

"Alright, this is a wrap for today!", I clapped my hands, "The next two sessions will be on your schedule, where you all will be split into three classes. So look out for your schedule."

"And if you have any questions, please come to my office.", I went to get Ouroboros Omniscia, "See you guys later!"

Some of them said goodbye to me, and I waved back with a smile. Now... Lughz Dustur.

I have to find out what that Eldritch God wants.

You know, Charlotte is an anthropocentrist
