Invite Players to a Cultivation World

1: Assessing a new world

As the portal closes behind me, I collapse in a mixture of exhaustion and relief.

I'm alive. I escaped. I wasn't immediately torn apart by blight monsters as soon as I arrived here.

All these things I'm thankful for, especially the last one. That was very likely to end differently.

But it seems this new world is relatively safe, so now comes the hard part.

Actually that's not really the case. The next part of my plan is unlikely to be difficult.

It will probably either be impossible or trivially easy, with a very small chance of somewhere in-between.

But I'm getting lost in my thoughts. Better to take in my surroundings so I can determine the situation and how to proceed.

...

There's a lot of plants here, most of them seem to be inferior versions of the most valuable plants I've had the fortune of seeing.

Honestly I'm not sure if that counts as a good or bad sign. Certainly an unexpected one though.

I manipulate my Qi so as to ascend me to a better place to assess my situation.

Once I'm high above the trees I find that I've ended up in the middle of a forest, and a big one at that. Trees as far as the eye can see.

Well, a normal human eye at least. But I'm a cultivator who has reached the level of Dao Emperor, so even without special techniques my sight is good enough to notice the villages far in the distance and some places that I assume are meant to be cities, despite being less than a hundredth the size of what I'm used to.

That's certainly a good sign. Small cities means weak inhabitants. Weak inhabitants means less chance they'll oppose me just because of some arrogant sense of pride.

With the confidence that gives me, I finally decide to test the level of Qi and Impurity Density.

...

If I was confident before, now I'm only terrified.

An extremely high level of Qi Density, and minimal level of Impurities.

There are the perfect conditions, and that means the inhabitants of this world should be far stronger than me.

Having such a small amount of Impurities is especially beneficial, and the area I'm in actually seems to have the greatest density of Impurities, despite it being so low that my old sect would gladly give up all the formations it built if it meant moving here.

So I should probably expect an Earth Realm expert to arrive here soon and place my head and torso in separate continents.

Well it was fun while it lasted.

Farewell new world. I didn't know you long, but you did at least give me a nice view.

...

Hold on a moment, it's already been at least 30 seconds and I'm still alive.

"If you're gonna kill me, just get it over with. If not, you could at least introduce yourselves." I call out.

But there's no reply.

That's certainly odd. My arrival would have caused enough of a disturbance that every Nascent Soul on the planet should have noticed, much less the experts that should exist in a place like this.

Oh, would you look at that. It seems a Nascent Soul cultivator is approaching me, with a couple Golden Cores trailing behind her.

Thankfully she's still far enough away that she didn't notice my previous yelling. That would be a bit embarrassing.

Should I approach them though? At the rate they're going it'd take half an hour for them to reach me.

Best not, it would come of as threatening, and if they do somehow end up being the powerhouses of this world then I should make a good first impression.

I have an opportunity to observe them though, and from the looks of it they-

Ohh.

Now it makes sense.

That woman in the front has great talent, but is still only at the Nascent Soul Realm, and the early stage at that.

The reason for this discrepancy is that her cultivation technique is so unrefined.

I'm not saying it was made badly, but it clearly hasn't existed long enough for the gradual improvements to elevate it so something I would consider worthwhile.

The reason is that this world hasn't existed for very long. Perhaps only a few Millenia.

That also explains the plants I saw earlier. They are the valuable plants because they are suited to places of high Qi density, but inferior to what I know because the various species haven't yet evolved to make the most of that Qi density.

This is the perfect situation. Now all I need to worry about is not giving up too much in the upcoming negotiations.

Could I try just forcing the people of this world to comply?

Technically, but that's not my style, and my contract heavily discourages such behaviour.

I suppose I should also think about how much I should reveal.

Perhaps it's about time I tried being honest. I've previously had to lie about many things since people stronger than me could have forced me to reveal uncomfortable secrets.

Now I can just say what I want and make it clear that I won't elaborate on certain matters.

I should definitely leave out the part about me being a reincarnator though. They probably wouldn't believe me regardless.

And now they have uncomfortable looks on their faces, but I don't recall doing anything that would warrant-

How could I be so stupid. They're heading into a place with the most dangerous impurity concentration they probably even know of, with only their unrefined techniques to reduce the amount seeping into their souls. Anyone would be distressed.

After practically forcing them to come here, removing this issue is the least I can do.
