It’s Scary When Things Work Out

Chapter 3: Mystery Web-Site and Writing

Finally recovering from the excitement of receiving this panel, I began to think about what to do with those freaks. My mind shifted to the switched-on laptop lying on the table. After thinking for a few seconds, I walked over and sat down on the chair. Then I began to look carefully at the website.

Remembering what they said, maybe it was an illegal site. It also existed in the previous world and was called the Dark Web, but here it was called something else. The abyss called it a rather ridiculous name. But the longer I looked through the pages, the more information I got.

Finally, I clicked on the profile icon in the upper left corner. It seems that the site designs are arranged differently here. In place of my photo, there was an avatar of a cute black kitten with big eyes. Clicking on it opened a profile that said:

Fxi-X account number L39472PRRK

Level: Beginner

Acceptance: 0

Completion: 0

Failed Assignments: 0

Access: Level 0

Registration date: 05:14:2068

Paying attention to the information provided, my gaze fell on the year. Looking back at the history of this world, it seems that a certain event did not occur here. Although the level of technology is the same as in the past, inevitably there are deviations. In addition, unlike the previous world, there are 15 months in a year.

But right now, I don't care. I don't have to think about it since it doesn't change anything.

Focusing again on the website, besides the profile, it reminded me where people can communicate anonymously without risking their data. There are chat rooms, both open and closed. In addition, there is a place where you can take tasks. Unfortunately, I am currently at level 0, and there is not a single available task.

After reading some of the sections, I realized that I hit a chasm in the truest sense. There's a lot to be found here, but only if you're skilled enough. In order to accept the first assignment, I need to do it by invitation. In most cases, you can't just accept an assignment because it could lead to bad consequences.

The other thing is to come here by invitation. It's also impossible for ordinary people to get to the site just by typing in a link. An invitation is required. The worst thing that made me realize that there is no way back is that if I leave the site, my data will automatically be open to the public.

This is a guarantee that no one will not spoil the site. If you register, you must verify your data. What those three freaks did, it is clear from this that I got. Through invitations, you can also get a percentage of earnings of those whom you invited. You can get rid of this only if you raise your rank higher than the other side, which, in my case, is definitely a problem at the moment.

These freaks forced the girl to register and then send her to tasks to make money on her. But if you consider that the site can only be accessed if there is an invitation, the likelihood that the three people are part of a group is very high.

While I was leafing through the site, the pen and paper icon suddenly lit up. Looking at it, I thought it was probably a message. If you think about it, there are a lot of things on the site that remind me of ancient times.

For example, if you go to a place where you can take tasks, you could see such things as a skeleton, a shild, an open book, a thief wrapped in a black cloak with a bag on his back, and the last was an arm stretched out toward the screen. Given what the site is, we can assume it is an organization. It is also likely that it is an ancient orgonization, as indicated by its design, but this is not a fact.

Taking a deep breath, which caused the mention of increased experience again, I finally calmed down. After which, I clicked on the pen and paper icon. There was no effect, it just opened a standard screen with a window divided in two. On the left, there are places for the name of the letters and the subject of the letters, and on the right, there are contents when you open it. Clicking on an unopened letter, the contents appeared on the right.

The message said, "So baby girl, the time for you to do what we need is 2 weeks max. There's a picture of the person at the bottom, along with some information on where you can find them. Click on the accept button at the bottom for us to see. Also, if you can do what we said, you can earn money. Just keep in mind if you take any action that we don't want you to, you remember the pain. This time it'll be worse; we'll make your life hell. Remember that, beautiful. You can be used in many places, but luckily for you the purpose we showed you is to love beautiful girls. So you have a chance."

The more I read, the more anger I felt inside me. The kind of people who run over the heads of others, I hate the most. Ignoring everything they said, I turned my gaze to the information provided at the bottom.

There was detailed information on what to love about the target, and where to find it. At the very bottom was also an 'Accept Job' button. Having no other way out, I clicked the button, after which the icon on my profile and also near it, something like a board lit up.

Closing the email window, I peeked in. There was a congratulatory window on my profile saying that I had taken a few steps on the beginner's path. After clicking on the board, the exact same window appeared on the screen as it showed in the letters window. Clicking the blinking tab on the left, the content appeared on the right.

After reading the whole thing, I sighed. So, I must kill a man. Looking at the package left by those people, there was an assumption that it was poison. Now it was confirmed. But remembering the letter, I clenched my fist. The time would come, and these people would pay a very heavy price. This certainty was given to me by the skills panel.

As I thought about how I could get stronger very quickly, a rumbling voice was heard coming from my stomach. Glancing at my watch, it turned out that it was almost two o'clock in the morning. Rising from my seat, I sat back down, quickly clicking on a few icons on the computer. I went into the settings and set a password. Although the laptop belonged to Elanor, and now to me, there's no guarantee that no one will look in here, especially my sister.

After setting everything up, I returned the laptop to my room before going into the kitchen. Because those three freaks attacked Elanora, the food was ruined. Only the bread was left unscathed. But other than that, there were some things at home that I could do something with. And so, taking up the task, I quickly began to cook what I could from the ingredients that were left.

Soon, a simple dish was cooked, looking very bad. And it tasted much worse. Right after I finished my rudimentary cooking, a message flashed before my eyes.

[New skill gained (Cooking)]

It seems that every action can lead to the acquisition of a skill.

After thinking about it, I opened a new skill window.

Announcement

Skill Name: Cooking

Level: 1

Description:  You can cook simple dishes from ingredients available in the common refrigerator and kitchen cabinets.

Well, it seems like I have to cook a lot to get better later. Turning off my receptors, I quickly stuffed the tasteless food into my mouth before washing everything off and walking into the bedroom to pack.
