Laid-back Highschooler In Bleach (With Soul Cube)

Ch92- Should I Have Kids?

Grinning, Kai took a step forward. "Hold on, guys," he raised his hand, halting his companions. He had an idea.

With a flash, he disappeared, a technique unique to the inhabitants of this realm, Sonido. He consciously avoided using Shunpo, a high-speed movement technique used by Shinigamis. His arrival could be sensed by Aizen, tipping him off. Kai's use of Sonido made sure he maintained the element of surprise.

He reappeared between Nel and the pursuing Hollows, causing a small explosion of sand that launched the Hollows away. Simultaneously, he swept Nel into his arms and darted away, leaving the confused Hollows behind.

Nel looked up at him with innocent, puzzled eyes. "Big brother, why did you send Nel's big brothers flying?" She asked, her voice carrying a hint of sadness.

Kai gave her a comforting smile, patting her on the head lightly. "Oh, were they your big brothers?" He feigned surprise, "I thought they were chasing you. My bad."

He then reached into his pocket and produced a small, vibrant candy. "How about I make it up to you by giving you this delicious spirit candy? Not only is it tasty but it's also packed with Reiatsu."

Nel's eyes lit up, immediately shifting from confusion to delight. She quickly snatched the candy from his hand and devoured it in one go. "Yummy!" she exclaimed, her earlier apprehension forgotten.

Meanwhile, Ichigo, Uryu, and Sado arrived at the scene, slightly out of breath. They were greeted by the sight of Kai holding a small child in his arms, offering her candy.

Ishida leaned closer to Ichigo, his eyebrows knitted in confusion. "Is it just me or does Kai look like one of those shady old men in parks?"

Ichigo merely grunted, his gaze fixated on Kai and Nel. Although he was confused, he trusted Kai enough to believe he had a good reason for his actions. Sado was silent, his eyes focused on Nel, concern etched on his usually stoic face.

As they pressed on, Nel happily munching on another candy Kai had given her, he couldn't help but feel a wave of nostalgia. Her innocent, childlike demeanor was a stark contrast to the brutal, merciless world they were in.

Ichigo’s voice echoed through the desolate desert landscape, jarring against the silence. “Mask?” he questioned, casting a skeptical glance at the small creature Kai was cradling in his arms. “Is she a Hollow?”

Uryu’s hand instinctively drifted towards the ethereal bow he conjured with his Quincy powers. His eyes narrowed, assessing the potential threat this new entity might pose. Yet, he did not let loose an arrow.

Kai’s gaze swept over them, an unspoken warning dancing in the depths of his eyes. His hand never ceased its soothing motion on Nel's head, patting it lightly. His lips curled into a warm, gentle smile, a stark contrast to his icy stare. “Meet Nel. She is an Arrancar, but she is fine so don't you dare to scare her.” He caressed Nel's hair, brushing away a few sand particles that were lodged there. Nel beamed at the attention, her eyes sparkling with an innocent joy that melted into his pat.

Ichigo exchanged a wary glance with Uryu, while Sado continued to observe Nel silently, his stoic demeanor revealing nothing of his thoughts.

Just as they were about to press on, Nel's Fraccion arrived, crashing onto the scene with as much subtlety as a hurricane. Dondochakka, Pesche, and Bawabawa approached their group, their heads bowed in a rare show of respect and apology.

"Big brother, we apologize for the confusion earlier," Dondochakka managed between wheezes, a clear sign of their spirited chase. "We were just playing with Nel. She likes to get into character and... well, you saw the rest."

Pesche, ever the dramatic one, added, "And our dear Nel, being the star she is, immerses herself in the role with gusto! You could say she's a method actor."

Ichigo sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as if warding off a headache. "Why do I have a feeling we've stumbled into a sitcom?"

Nel, oblivious to the bewilderment of Ichigo and his friends, clung onto Kai like a koala, wrapping her small arms around his neck. Her earlier apprehension was forgotten, replaced by a wide, toothy grin as she basked in Kai's attention.

Kai chuckled, his eyes softening. "Alright, guys. Apology accepted." He shifted Nel in his arms so that he could face the trio of Hollows. "But next time, try to tone down the theatrics a bit, okay?"

The three of them nodded fervently, expressions comically serious. Kai chuckled again, the sound carrying across the desert and creating an illusion of warmth amidst the harsh landscape.

As the group resumed their journey, the situation felt almost surreal to Ichigo, Uryu, and Sado. Here they were, deep in the heart of Hueco Mundo, allied with a handful of Hollows, and traveling with an Arrancar child who was far more interested in candies than the ongoing war.

As they moved, Kai fed more and more candy to Nel. His Zanpakuto spirit was as moody as a child, so he had a stock of Reiatsu candies to feed her whenever she felt low. Nel was gobbling them down while humming to herself, shaking her head from side to side while clinging onto Kai's neck.

The sight of Nel's blissful state tugged at something deep within Kai. He found himself smiling, the image of the child's joy creating a soft melody in his heart. His thoughts turned to an unexplored area, a new concept that was foreign yet strangely appealing.

"Should I have children?" He mused, considering the prospect. He envisioned little versions of himself running around, their eyes filled with a curious mixture of mischief and innocence. He chuckled softly, picturing the possible reactions from his women - Yoruichi, Orihime, Tatsuki, Rangiku, Rukia, Chizuru, Michiru. Each one unique, each one special. Their children would be a testament to their bond, a symbol of their unique relationship.

He envisioned the stunned expressions on their faces, the joyous laughter that would echo around the room, the warm hugs and affectionate kisses that would follow. Yes, they would indeed make beautiful children, each reflecting a part of their mothers.

"My mother would also be happy," he mused, a hint of nostalgia creeping into his thoughts. He chuckled again, shaking his head in amusement at his whimsical train of thought. He gave Nel's head another pat, smiling at the delighted giggle that followed. His decision was made. "I will have kids," he affirmed, his voice resolute.
