MARVEL: CARD EXTRACTION SYSTEM

When I looked up, I was overcome with absolute horror. The shapeless mass of muscle and green skin in front of me was not just any monster. It was precisely the worst character to be found here: the Hulk.

The emerald giant was almost unrecognizable. His skin was a dull shade of green, and his eyes... empty and hungry, without a trace of the sanity that even the angriest Hulk used to have. His jaw was partially dislocated, hanging to one side, and thick saliva, a grotesque mixture of coagulated blood and chunks of flesh, dripped from his giant mouth.

I was paralyzed. I had no other reaction to that creature. Anyone would.

Then I heard the Hulk's voice. "HUNGER...!"

It was like the wail of a dead man who refuses to rest. And then he let out a roar that reverberated throughout the street, making the few remaining intact windows of the buildings shake. It was a sound that mixed anger with an insatiable hunger, something that no living creature should be able to emit.

The smell of rot almost knocked me over, but the Hulk's roar kept me in reality.

'This is the Hulk! I am really face to face with the Hulk! So cool!' I thought and a smile appeared on my face, even in those absurd circumstances.

But the Hulk advanced with surprising speed. His dislocated jaw opened at an impossible angle, revealing teeth that looked more bestial than human. He was going to devour me in one bite.

With a desperate reflex provided by the Sharingan, I threw myself to the side, escaping by centimeters from that devastating bite. I could feel the wind of the attack brushing against my skin, followed by the violent thud of the Hulk's jaw closing on empty air. I was so close that I felt the pressure of the bite.

I fell to the ground with my heart racing, but I knew I didn't have time to recover. The Hulk, frustrated at not catching me, tried to grab me with one hand. Without thinking, I grabbed the only thing within reach: the Hulk's right ear.

The fabric of his ear gave way surprisingly easily, yet I still managed to throw myself onto his back.

The world spun around me as I struggled to balance on that furious mass of muscle, which was flailing its arms and staggering backwards trying to reach me. Knowing that I wouldn't be able to hold on to the back of his head for long, I slid onto his back, desperate for something to hold on to.

At that moment, my fastest weapon was a rusty old knife I'd bought. Without thinking twice, I drove the blade into the Hulk's back to get a grip. The knife entered the rotting flesh with ease, and once again I was surprised. The Hulk's skin was supposed to be practically indestructible, but I soon realized what was wrong.

This Hulk's skin was rotten, but able to regenerate almost instantly. Mixing rot and regeneration, his skin looked more like green goo and my knife began to be swallowed.

Hulk let out a roar of frustration, unable to reach me with his gigantic muscles. He swung around violently, knocking over poles and crashing into cars as he tried to get rid of me.

Soon, I heard the sound of the blade breaking. Prack!

Before I could do anything, I was thrown to the ground like a rag doll. I landed hard, and when I looked at my hand, all that was left of the knife was the old hilt.

I stood up quickly, but felt the Hulk's shadow over me again. His hungry eyes were fixed on me, and my mind raced, looking for a way out. I didn't have enough points to buy anything, and I couldn't think of anything in the store that could stop that zombified Hulk.

But luck, for once, was on my side. An unexpected sound cut through the air - a loud, insistent horn coming from the end of that long avenue.

Hoooooooonk!!!!!

Instinctively, both the Hulk and I looked in the direction of the sound. In the distance, a truck was speeding along, its lights flashing and its horn echoing through the deserted city.

And then I saw him. In the driver's seat, with a smug grin under his slightly raised red and black mask, was Deadpool.

"Hey, big guy! Look what I do without my hands!" Deadpool shouted, taking his hands off the wheel, letting the truck go wild.

The vehicle began to slide, hitting abandoned cars and almost overturning.

"Oops! Looks like the maintenance isn't up to date." said Deadpool and grabbed the wheel again to adjust the steering to hit the Hulk.

"ROARRRRRRRR!!! HUNGEEER!" Hulk shouted.

"Oh, you want to eat me? Then swallow it first." Deadpool jumped out of the truck, rolling on the ground and getting up quickly.

Just then, I heard a fourth voice.

"Hey, Lucas, get out of there!" It was Gwen's voice and she threw a web over my back and pulled me out.

The Hulk looked at me as Gwen dragged me away, but with a bang, the truck hit him, dragging him for several meters as the wheels spun frantically, knocking over everything in its path. Even after being dragged, the Hulk was still standing, holding the truck.

Deadpool stood up, dusted himself off and fastened a device to his belt. "Now, the grand finale, you green monster son of a bitch!"

Apparently, Deadpool had planted a bomb in the ground, which was clearly a gas truck, so intense was the explosion that it shook the entire block.

Deadpool looked at the chaos with satisfaction and his hands on his waist.

"Now it's time to applaud." He said with a comical tone. "That brings our performance to a close!"

Clap, Clap, Clap

Suddenly, he heard clapping. Deadpool slowly turned his head to the side and saw... me and Gwen, partly panting with fear and at the same time excited by what had happened.

"What an explosion!" I said.

"Was that the Hulk?!" Gwen asked, clearly excited and scared too.

"AI! WHAT A SHOCK! HOLY SHIT! WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?! Wait, shut up and follow me before the deads come for us!!! AHAHAHA! Cap's gonna freak when he finds out there are still survivors here!"
