Marvel: My Vampire System

13: The Shadows

The next morning.

Stephan woke up to the sound of the birds chirping outside as the bright rays of the sun shined through his small window.

"Another day in this world" Stephan yawned and sat up before looking at his alarm.

it was pretty early in the morning, and although he went to sleep late, he still woke up early and was well-rested.

Stephan hopped into the shower before going downstairs to eat his breakfast, like always, his mother had already left for work.

Stephan wanted to wake up Jasmine a little earlier, but he decided to give up on dealing with her annoyance in the mornings

After finishing his breakfast, Stephan made his way to a small laptop in his room and began to take notes on Atmokinesis, Shadow Control, and Blood Control.

an hour later.

Stephan had created a list of potential abilities he could gain from any of these abilities he had already crossed out Atmokinesis at the beginning of this.

As strong as it sounded, the system did remind him that it had limitations like all the abilities, he would need to train them up if he wanted them to be as powerful as he imagined.

"When it comes down to Shadow Control and Blood Control..." Stephan thought deeply as he unconsciously tapped the pencil on his chin.

Shadow control was very good for vampires like the system said.

it was due to its abilities of stealth, assassination, and powerful attacks that quite literally make him a hard target to track down and fight as well.

it was his favorite out of the two.

As for Blood Control, it was pretty overpowered, Stephan felt like he could even start doing experiments on humans and other creatures using this ability.

For example, if his blood control could reach the level of being labeled as biokinesis, then Stephan would be able to manipulate his body's anatomy, physiology, and his overall whole body's internal process.

But.

Stephan wasn't ready to experiment on human beings and things for now, perhaps if he had the chance to choose more abilities, he would choose blood control.

But for now, he needed power, the power that would greatly increase his power and assist his vampire abilities.

"System, I choose shadow control" Stephan made up his mind after a few short minutes and stated his decision out loud.

[Ding,!

Stephan looked at his stats screen, everything looked normal except for the addition of his "Unique-Skills" category.

Stephan willed with his mind and "pressed" his shadow control ability on his status screen.

Unique-Skill: Shadow Control

- Shadow Movement

- Shadow Minions

(skills can be created by the host depending on the enlightenment of his unique abilities)

----

Stephan looked at these 4 skills which came with his Shadow control ability, each of these 3 skills could be used in many ways and there was more than a single use for each of them, according to the system, the power or effectiveness of his skills depended on his overall stats.

as Stephan looked at these skills, he suddenly felt a strange dark energy erupt from the system's interface and enter his body.

it was a cool feeling at first, but then this dark energy became colder and colder until it had completely dissolved and fused with Stephan's body.

"What a strange feeling," Stephan thought as he moved his hands around his chest and stomach, he wasn't too surprised since it had come from the system.

but he was confused for a moment since nothing was happening.

10 seconds.

30 seconds.

it was only after a while minute did Stephan start to feel changes within his body and his senses, his eyes darted across the room and he noticed every dark corner with the little presence of a shadow or darkness.

With but a single thought, Stephan was able to sink into his own shadow and travel into the dark corners of his room.

"What the fuck" Stephan appeared out of a tiny shadow In the corner of his room and widened his eyes at what had just happened.

that seemed to be shadow movement, it was just as the name implied.

Stephan could move between shadows easily and his speed even seemed to gain a significant increase as he traveled through these shadows.

"This is some good stuff," Stephan said with a slight smile as he "felt" all the shadows around him, with a thought he could sink into his own shadow and slither into other shadows like a black snake in the night.

Stephan played around with this ability for a bit, he could even phase through walls as long as he located a shadow from a nearby object behind the obstruction in front of him.

even during the day, when there was the most amount of light, there was bound to be shadows and darkness hidden within this light, Stephan could easily locate these Shadows in the blink of an eye and travel through them easily.

After traveling around the whole neighborhood in 30 seconds or so through the shadows, Stephan returned to his bedroom and calmed his thoughts.

He had planned to use his "Umbrakinetic Manipulation" first, but his shadow movement had been something that he used unconsciously after feeling the presence of the shadows around him, they were like his own subjects that called out to him and sought his attention, it was a wonderful feeling.

"While I'm at it, I'll save Umbrakinetic Manipulation for last, it sounds fucking complicated," Stephan thought before shaking his head and preparing to use his third Shadow control ability.
