MARVEL: start with limitless technique

Chapter 15- How can you not date a girl from the 1950s?

"Hahaha, I see. But I think you might have misunderstood me, sir. I promised to attend the expo tonight with two of my friends"

"And."

"Uh, the problem is that my other friends are coming with female partners and, you know, they're worried that if I'm alone or with an ugly girl, their girlfriends will probably try to seduce me."

"Ha..ha..ha I'm sure that's not the problem."

"And I would like to accompany your daughter to this event, but she will have to pretend that we are dating. Your daughter looks young like a college student, probably a girl her age who needs a lot of money, I can pay for it if necessary. Ouch!"

I looked down at the old tailor with pain from the needle suddenly stabbing me in the lower back and saw him looking at me with stern eyes.

"Go and ask my daughter for a date properly, and if you are hesitant, tell her your problem like you told me, and don't talk about money. I don't want to wipe the water from your exploding balls off the floor of my shop, young man, and don't forget that for the first time ever I saw my daughter smile at a man, you already have enough chances, just don't screw it up."

After saying these words, the old man tapped my shoulder twice and told me that the suit was ready. I turned and looked in the mirror and saw a gentleman who was much more handsome than before.

Although I hadn't been a bag of fat before, having small abs was another story altogether. Looking at myself in the mirror, I decided that all I needed was a fresh haircut.

Meanwhile, Peggy Carter must have gotten bored of listening to us from behind the wall because she reappeared in the shop, jumping on one foot and trying to put her high heels on the other.

The main reason for the conversation I had just had with the old man was to give Peggy Carter the impression that I was not a shrewd man. If she thinks I'm not a cunning man and decides that she can deal with me, then the incident where she and the soldiers hidden amongst the people are trying to arrest me will be postponed until later tonight.

Which is what I want. If she's not going to be a problem until Howard Stark's show, she can't be a problem because after the flying car experiment fails, I'm going to go to Howard and do the last mission of the series that I just got.

As I was walking down the street just now, I was already intrigued by what the last mission of the series was, and in the corner of my field of vision there were already screens helping me with the mission.

The mission info is just one sentence. Become Howard Stark's assistant. There are no restrictions for the mission, but the mission reward is a good level talent raffle ticket.

When I finish this mission, I will also get an extra mystic level talent raffle ticket because I will have finished the series of missions.

Hopefully, after these two talent draws, I'll at least be able to walk side by side in the current world. And after that, I'll be able to accomplish some of my goals that I can achieve in the current time period, like getting the ten rings and becoming an immortal...

"Hey, what's my dad talking about?"

Apparently I got too caught up in my thoughts and missed something. Before I could answer Peggy Carter's question, I looked at the seamstress out of the corner of my eye and saw her gesturing towards me, telling me to start talking.

"Uh Ms. Peggy, actually my friends and I are going to the big tech expo tonight and they are going to be with their girlfriends..."

"Ow is that a proposal?"

"Oh noow noo of course not! I just wanted to ask if you could pretend to be my girlfriend, I mean just pretend. I promise I won't even hold your hand."

The old man who had been watching us from behind Peggy while I was nervously talking over Peggy Carter's words and messing everything up was looking at me, pulling a few strands of hair out of his own head and trying to tell me something in anger.

I'm sorry, old man, but if your daughter doesn't decide that I'm a man who can't walk right when he sees a woman and can be easily manipulated, she won't even let me enter the crowd at the fairgrounds and will try to arrest me early.

Peggy smiled at my words and said that she was in the same situation. Her girlfriend, with whom she was going to the expo, was always bragging about her husband and she was going with him, so she would like to pretend to be with me.

After explaining why, she came up to me and held out her arm and that's when I screwed up. In my gentlemanly gesture to take her arm, I put my arm over hers, creating an awkward situation. After I made a silly mistake, like I was the girl, Peggy laughed and placed her arm neatly over mine.

After the first mistake I was going to rely on the movies in my memory and quickly correct my behavior, but I didn't have to. I had never held the arm of a woman living in the 1950s before, so it wasn't really my fault, but it didn't change the fact that it added a lot of believability to the role.
