Me, The Sovereign of the World? [Modern Evolution]

0046 – Demonstration

During her workout planning, Zoe Carter had a bold idea. Given her extreme coordination and control over her body, could she develop an incredibly efficient exercise method? Specifically, she wondered if she could control her muscles to tremble in a way that mimicked traditional workouts, but with greater efficiency.

If this was possible, it would undoubtedly surpass the effectiveness of conventional weightlifting. With this thought in mind, Zoe left Benny's phone number with the gym staff, mentioning that she might consider getting a membership, effectively sending away the persistent staff member trying to sell her a membership card.

While lying on the bench press, casually pushing the barbell, she attempted to control her muscles to perform tremor-based exercises. However, this was extremely difficult. While it might be possible to slightly move a single muscle group, sustaining a tremor in a specific muscle group was much more challenging. This level of control was beyond what an ordinary human could achieve.

But Zoe was no ordinary human.

As she continued her attempts, the muscles across her body began to tremble rhythmically, including those that most people could barely control. The initial attempt at this new method felt incredibly effective, rapidly consuming her physical energy and providing exceptional workout results. The tremors didn't last long before even someone with Zoe's stamina felt a bit exhausted.

This brought her a sense of satisfaction.

However, achieving this level of full-body tremor training could only be done two or three times a day. Controlling all muscles perfectly required more than just neural control; it needed the aid of Zoe's unique mental power.

Thus, this method not only trained her physical strength but also her mental power. Unlike physical strength, mental power needed a longer recovery period before she could perform the muscle tremors again.

Despite this, the effectiveness of this workout was extraordinary. It would become a daily routine for her. Thinking this, and feeling her physical strength nearing depletion, she quickly set the barbell back on the rack and stood up, albeit a bit unsteadily.

A nearby trainer, noticing her unsteady stance, hurried over to support her, clearly worried about any potential accidents.

Zoe instinctively stepped aside, avoiding the burly trainer's help. After all, who wouldn't flinch at the sight of a muscular giant rushing over?

"Are you alright?" the trainer asked seriously. "Did you overexert yourself by accident?" Seeing that Zoe could stand steadily, the trainer stopped approaching, scratching his cheek awkwardly.

"I'm fine. It was my first time trying this, so I didn't pace myself well," Zoe replied, nodding. Though her face had been pale, it quickly regained color as her ten-second recovery mechanism kicked in. Apart from some mental fatigue, she felt physically rejuvenated almost instantly.

She had indeed overdone it, not because of the bench press but due to the intense, full-body high-frequency muscle tremors. This dual workout of physical and mental power had drained her significantly, more so than sprinting ten kilometers with heavy weights.

The trainer, noticing Zoe's recovering complexion, relaxed a bit and said, "Who showed you around? They should have been here to ensure your safety. This oversight is our gym's fault, and I apologize..."

The trainer stopped mid-sentence as he glanced at the bench press, noticing the 120kg loaded on the barbell. He froze in place, turning back to Zoe with a look of disbelief.

He had seen this newcomer bench pressing several sets from a distance, but only now did he notice the weight. Benching 120kg was impressive, putting Zoe's strength above 99% of men.

Many seasoned fitness enthusiasts would struggle to reach this level. While it wasn't the pinnacle—his coach could press around 170kg, which was near the top—Zoe's performance was remarkable, especially considering her seemingly slender build. And this was her first time working out.

For someone new to the gym, lifting 120kg in several sets was beyond extraordinary. Most newcomers could only manage between 20-40kg on their first attempt. Zoe's feat was almost unbelievable.

It was as if she was a natural-born muscle prodigy, a perfect candidate for bodybuilding. With her upper body and core strength, a bit of training could make her an ideal weightlifting athlete.

The coach, who also served as the head coach of a nearby weightlifting training facility, began to see Zoe in a new light, his gaze turning fervent.

"Excuse me, this might sound a bit rude, but are you really a beginner?" he asked, rubbing his hands together, clearly embarrassed by his own question. "Could we get to know each other better? I'm the owner of this gym and the head coach of the weightlifting training facility next door."

Zoe sensed the coach's nervous and eager emotions, glanced at the weights on the bench press, and immediately understood the situation. Earlier, she had used the available weights without paying attention to their combined heaviness—it was all the same to her, unlike the immense drums she usually lifted.

Seeing the coach's hopeful look, Zoe nodded and said, "My name is Jenny, and today is indeed my first time working out at a gym." She appreciated the coach's concern, whether it was for her well-being or the safety of the gym, and didn't want to be rude.

"Ms. Jenny, with your initial bench press performance, you’re a natural for weightlifting. Would you be interested in joining our gym? With a few days of training, you could fully utilize your talent. I also have connections with the provincial weightlifting team. It could mean fame and fortune for you."

The coach's eyes sparkled with excitement, thrilled at the prospect of discovering a weightlifting prodigy.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not interested," Zoe replied, shaking her head.

Despite the refusal, the coach continued to follow and persuade her earnestly, making it difficult for Zoe to ignore him. After a moment of thought, Zoe decided to follow the coach to the adjacent weightlifting training facility.

She wasn't there to join them, though.

Looking at the coach who thought he had succeeded in recruiting her, Zoe said seriously, "You mentioned training me to become a top weightlifting athlete. How far can you throw?"

Her tone carried a mix of curiosity and challenge, making the coach understand the implicit question: Do you have what it takes to teach me?

In response, the coach chose to demonstrate. He picked up a weight and, with a professional motion, threw it 19.1 meters—a distance that matched the standard of professional weightlifting athletes and one of her best throws.

Confident in his performance, the coach walked back with a satisfied grin. But then, Zoe picked up the same thing and casually threw it.

With her immense strength and precise control, the weightlifting landed exactly 19.2 meters away, just slightly farther than the coach's throw. She hadn't accidentally broken any records but had subtly surpassed the coach.

The coach's smile froze, his mind struggling to process what had just happened.

Seeing this, Zoe turned and left quietly, not leaving a trace behind.
