MHA: Fear the Nurarihyon

I stared at her with wide eyes before bursting out laughing. She was a crazy bitch alright. I liked it.

"Ahahaha! You're so funny, Himiko-chan! But why me?"

"Because you're so cute and stylish!"

Our conversation derailed from there, and we continued to talk about anything and everything. Before long, the sun began to set, and we had to say goodbye to each other.

"Thank you for having me here today, Himiko-chan."

"Hehehe, let's meet again!"

She waved her hand and disappeared into the crowd.

I sighed and walked away, thinking that our meeting would be in the far future.

Or at least, that was what I thought.

It was the next day that I saw her again, bathed with blood in an alleyway.

"Ah."

Himiko's face was covered in blood and her clothes were torn. She was wearing a yellow sweater and a pair of jeans. Her golden eyes were like a cat's as she stared at me from the ground.

She grinned and held her bloody knife in her hand. The corpse of a man laid beside her with a wound in his neck.

"Hello again, Nurarihyon-kun!"

She greeted me casually despite the situation. No explanation or question. She was just like yesterday.

"What are you doing here?"

I asked and tried to not look too surprised. She didn't seem bothered by my tone as she continued to smile at me.

"Hmm? This guy is stalking me. He tried to touch me so I gave him a lesson. Too bad it's not like the movies where we get away with it easily."

She pouted and kicked the man's dead body. It made a thud sound as it moved a little.

"I see..."

'Killing someone isn't the correct way. Even in the movies, sexual assault will only result in jail.'

But as someone who came from a different world, I knew that wasn't always the case. Japan was famous for having strict laws for sexual assault cases, but it didn't mean that it was entirely true.

"So you killed him?"

"Yup~ Are you going to arrest me, Mr. Hero candidate?"

She teased me as she got up from the ground and approached me. She was a few inches shorter than me, but her presence was still intimidating.

I gulped and shook my head.

"No, I'm not a Hero candidate yet. If I make an arrest on you right now, I will be reprimanded by the police or Heroes. So, I will only report this. Rather, I reported it already."

"Is that so? Nurarihyon-kun, you're so considerate." She giggled and hid her knife behind her back. "I guess I need to take a break? Or should I take you as a hostage to get away with it?"

Her eyes glinted with excitement as she raised her knife. Her hand was shaking a little as she did so. I could tell she was excited about this idea. Very much so that she had the knife close to my neck.

"I am scared and can't move right now. Because I don't want to get injured, you should run toward that direction." I pointed in the opposite direction of where she should go. "There's no one here but us so you have a good chance of escape."

She stared at me in shock before giggling again.

"Eh, but I don't want to part with you. We can fight anyone if we work together. Let's do it! Forget about being a Hero and be with me."

"All Might will be here soon."

As soon as I said that, her eyes widened in surprise. She suddenly moved back and glanced around cautiously.

"How did you know All Might was coming?"

"I informed him." I smiled and pointed at my phone. "Go right now. We will meet again in the future."

"..."

Himiko didn't say anything for a moment before raising her knife. This... I had a bad feeling about it and quickly activated my quirk.

The next moment, a knife flew towards my neck and missed my head by an inch. Her expression was twisted in disappointment.

"Nurarihyon-kun~ You are meant to play a trick on me like that! Come on, let me have your blood before we part ways!"

She licked her lips hungrily and grinned at me. Her yellow sweater was covered in blood too. She seemed like a kid who was playing a game and didn't want to give up on it. Her nose twitched slightly before she rushed toward my direction.

"There you are!"

I quickly pulled out my wooden sword and blocked her attack. For some reason, she was able to find me.

'Damn. My quirk isn't really effective against people who aren't afraid of me. And Himiko is clearly not afraid of anything.'

I kicked her in the stomach and pushed her back. But she was surprisingly agile and flipped backward before charging at me again.

"Let me have 50 ml... No, even 5 ml is fine! Give me your blood."

"I told you that I don't want to be injured, Himiko-chan. Can you just stop this?"

"No~" She giggled and slashed at me with her knife. "I like you... I love you. So give me your blood. That we can become one! Forever!"

Her expression was wild and eager like a predator going after its prey. Her attack quicker. She was pretty agile with her movements and could dodge my attack without a problem.

Black cloud still hovered around my body. She shouldn't be able to feel me clearly right now. But her instinct, trained in a dangerous world, made her able to predict my movement and attack accordingly.

"Stupid girl!"

With no other choice, I lifted my sword and began my counter attack. The sound of our weapons clashing filled the alleyway as we fought for a while.

'There is not much time left.' I thought.

By now, All Might would have been on his way.

'If she doesn't want to retreat, then I will. I began to like her enough to not want to hurt her.'

After one last clash, I disappeared from her sight by throwing a plastic bag at her.

"Whoa! You're playing dirty- Huh? You're gone again!"

A moment was all I needed to make her lose sight again. Nurarihyon was a deceptive youkai. He could appear and disappear at will and even influence others' thoughts through their fear.

As someone who used his power, I knew how effective it could be in changing the battle flow.

I slipped out of the alleyway and stood near the entrance. I watched Himiko looking around while shouting my name. After she couldn't find me, she looked disappointed and left.

'Great. You need to be safe out there, Himiko. For you are interested in me already. And I don't want to see you get hurt. Not right now when the story has not started yet.'

However, our paths would cross again in the future. One that would lead to a lifetime of trouble for me. If I couldn't turn you to my side.

Heroes and Villains didn't really matter to me. The reason I wanted to enter UA was to get the benefit. Like it or not, I only had 2 kinds of people in my life. Those who I considered friends and strangers. And I cared about the former.

At that moment, I heard All Might's voice from a distance.

"FEAR NOT, AS I AM HERE!"

I looked at the towering figure among the crowd and smirked. His expression turned grim as he saw the corpse in the alleyway. He immediately moved into action and kept people away.

'All Might will be able to handle this. I already told him, or rather Yagi-san that I would leave immediately because I am scared.'

I thought as I walked away from the scene.
