Monster Taming Broadcast

Chapter 66

Bastet’s roar echoed.

In response, Solorb slowly began descending toward the ground.

Cue dramatic music

Pururu: “Huh?! The sun is falling!!!”

Yumi: “A meteor is coming down!”

Rize Nova: “It feels like we’re witnessing the end of the world…”

Mysticism: “😱😱😱😱😱

Boglebogle: “This is insane…”

With Solorb’s arrival, the movements of the four warriors in fierce combat suddenly froze.

Their gazes were drawn skyward like iron to a magnet.

— “W-what’s happening?”

— “Why is Solorb intervening…?”

Para and Anu.

— “Um… Could it be that Bastet called for it?”

Azelas and Aracne.

The massive Solorb descended, filling the sky.

Upon witnessing it, the four warriors stood frozen like statues under overwhelming pressure.

The desert fell silent, as if even the creatures’ breaths had paused.

The fight was forgotten.

Only the descent of Solorb dominated the consciousness of all the monsters.

Boglebogle: “SSS-Class…”

Pururu: “Whoa, that size is no joke.”

Rize Nova: “Up close, it’s actually smaller than I expected.”

Pururu: “Huh? It’s the biggest monster we’ve seen so far!”

Rize Nova: “True, but I was expecting it to be planet-sized. Given its size, Solorb must be floating lower than anticipated.”

Yumi: “That might be its nerfed size.”

Pururu: “That’s just crazy. I could understand with the Caterpillar, but that can’t be nerfed size!”

Mysticism: “No! It could very well be nerfed size! There are monsters bigger than planets!”

Pururu: “You might be right.”

By now, Solorb had descended right in front of Bastet.

Was it considering the creatures on the ground?

It had extinguished the raging flames around it.

Only then did it appear like a living being.

It had a single eye that looked like a black hole in the center.

Pururu: “I wonder what would happen if I got sucked into that hole.”

Yumi: “Why are you curious about such things?”

Boglebogle: “You’d definitely die!”

Solorb quickly surveyed the creatures below and called for Bastet.

With a tone much lighter than the earlier oppressive voice.

— “Bastet Daong.”

— “Bastet Daong.”

Mysticism: “😮

Mysticism: “Wait, that includes ‘Daong’ in the name?!”

— “Explain why you called me.”

— “I need help.”

— “Help?”

— “First, let me explain the situation.”

As if talking to a friend, Bastet chatted casually with Solorb.

Seeing this, Para and Anu were left pale in disbelief.

— “What in the world is that thing? How can it converse so easily with Solorb?”

— “Considering we’ve never seen it before… it might be some creature created by Solorb…”

While they exchanged these thoughts, Bastet began explaining the situation to Solorb.

Bastet recounted that the spider had promised to give him fish in exchange for help.

Also, he added that even if he intervened, it might be a bit tough to face Para and Anu, so he requested assistance.

— “Understood. I’ll grant your request.”

Solorb accepted Bastet’s plea for help without an ounce of hesitation.

Upon hearing this, Anu and Para were bewildered and questioned Solorb.

— “You’ve never intervened in earth matters, have you? Why suddenly step in now?”

— “I don’t even understand why you would listen to a creature like that. Why help it?”

With an air of indifference, Solorb brushed aside their questions and began radiating intense heat.

— “You mustn’t kill it! I asked for you to subdue it!”

— “Don’t worry. I’ll burn it just enough not to kill.”

Solorb’s gaze turned toward Anu and Para.

— “I won’t kill you, so don’t resist. If you move even slightly, I can’t guarantee your lives.”

Again, Solorb’s voice took on a chilling weight.

Sweating, Para took a step back and glanced at Anu.

— “Anu. Are we going to fight?”

— “No way. We’d die.”

— “Then we should run.”

— “Don’t even think about it. You can’t escape from Solorb.”

— “Then what do we do?”

— “…”

Gulp.

Anu swallowed hard, looking up at Solorb.

— “We have no choice. Since you said you wouldn’t kill us, we’ll just have to accept the flames.”

— “Are you insane?”

— “That’s the only way we can survive. I’m not going to force you to make a choice. Fight if you want, run if you want.”

Anu’s decision was wise.

In my eyes, the only way to save their lives was indeed that.

Better to endure a little pain than to keep pride and face death.

Para seemed to think for a moment.

— “Damn it…”

Finally, agreeing with Anu’s advice, he stiffened and shut his eyes tight.

Pururu: “What cowards. Tsk.”

Yumi: “They’ve let go of their pride.”

And just then.

The flaming judge meteor began to descend from the sky toward the ground.

Pururu: “Wow.”

Yumi: “Gasp…”

Boglebogle: “Is that thing really going to leave them alive?”

Rize Nova: “Since he said he’d control the power, they should at least survive?”

Mysticism: “Wait, but aren’t our monsters in danger too?”

There was nothing to worry about for our monsters.

All meteors that were not aimed at Para and Anu simply dissipated before hitting the ground.

As if the meteors had some sort of targeting sensor installed.

Solorb completed his task and ascended back into the high sky.

Para and Anu, directly hit by the meteor, had turned as black as charcoal and their bodies were so crushed they were unrecognizable.

Yet, they clung to life.

They were still breathing.

And faintly muttering as well.

Aracne approached them, her face full of smiles.

It seemed she intended to restrain them before they could recover.

— “Hehe. It’s a fun binding time.”

Pururu: “Are you going to draw Solorb too?”

— “I’m tired.”

Pururu: “Haha, I figured you’d say that, so I drew it for you.”

Cue support item announcement

Pururu: “Here, take this!”

Solorb: “Danger Level: SSS-Class.”

Current (Nerfed) Danger Level: S-Class.
