Mr. Ekenhart had called me

“The master wants to see you. He said that he wanted to talk to you while the others were away…”

“Mr. Ekenhart? Do you know what he wants to talk about?”

“No, I do not. I was merely told to call you, unless you were sleeping. But you were not in your room when I checked…”

If she didn’t have to wake me up, then it wasn’t anything serious.

Perhaps he was just bored and wanted someone to talk to.

Ms. Claire would have rebuked him and told him to go to sleep.

“I see. So it’s not urgent then. I had become a little overheated after my bath, and so I was cooling off in the garden. Sorry to have caused you trouble.”

“No, it’s nothing. Well, he is waiting in the dining hall.”

“Oh, you’re coming too, Leo? You could go ahead and sleep with Liza if you want.”

“Uh, it’s just Mr. Ekenhart. I’ll be fine alone. But you can come if you want.”

And so Leo and I followed Ms. Gelda to the dining hall.

“Excuse me. I have brought Mr. Takumi.”

“Mr. Ekenhart, you called?”

“Ah, Mr. Takumi. You came. I’m glad that you weren’t asleep.”

“I’m sorry about my master, Mr. Takumi.”

“No, it’s fine. …Still, wine?”

Mr. Ekenhart was sitting in his usual chair with a glass. Sebastian was waiting behind him.

Mr. Ekenhart was glad to see me, but Sebastian looked at me apologetically.

Well, I wasn’t really sleepy, so it was fine. I did feel a little bad for Ms. Lyra…

I was also curious about Mr. Ekenhart’s drink.

It was pink, so it must be that mixed wine… Perhaps it was to help him sleep?

“It is so delicious that I had to have some.”

“Ohh… Leo seems to be rather tense around me tonight?”

I thought as I took a seat. And then Leo sat down between us.

And though she was sitting, she was looking towards Mr. Ekenhart so that she could move at a moment’s notice.

That being said, if there was anything here that would make Leo cautious, then surely there was no way I could deal with it?

In any case, since Sebastian had asked, I decided to have some wine as well.

From previous experience I knew that I did not get drunk, so there would be no problem.

Ms. Gelda placed a glass in front of me and Sebastian poured the wine.

I thanked them and then Ms. Gelda left the room.

Mr. Ekenhart said as he drained his glass in one gulp.

Well, that was like him.

Sebastian then poured him another glass. I suppose he cared more about the atmosphere than warning him about drinking too much.

I suppose Sebastian knew what Mr. Ekenhart wanted to say.
