"We've come this far together and we'll continue to fight together." I assured her, placing a hand on her shoulder before she raised her hand and put it over mine.
We stared at each other for a couple of seconds and I felt like my heart was beating out my chest as we both inched forward. We could both only jump back as the door to the washroom opened up once more and Nessa emerged from the washroom, her cheeks pink from the warmth of the water.
"All clean," She announced with a bright smile on her face as she walked over and grabbed my arm not noticing the look of embarrassment me and Ella shared.
"Good," I said trying to once again ignore the soft squishy feeling against my arm as I looked between the beautiful pair.
"Let's rest for a bit before dinner arrives" I said as Ella and Nessa nodded following me as we headed toward my room.
We had barely settled into our rest when a knock on the door interrupted our peace. I was about to sit up from the bed but before I could Ella stood to answer it, revealing the Duchess standing there with a very rare expression of seriousness that made me narrow my eyes.
"Hero may I speak with you privately?" She looked past Ella and toward me with her tone indicating that it was important.
"Of course," I replied, standing up and following her out of the room while Ella and Nessa exchanged curious glances but remained behind.
"I spoke with the guild," We walked down the hallway to a small sitting room before the Duchess closed the door behind us, her face still serious.
"And?" I prompted, curious about what had her so on edge.
"You asked them to inform you of any promising individuals who could potentially join our party," she said, looking directly at me.
"Yes did they find someone?" I asked, hopeful. We could use more strength in our fight against the demons.
"They found a man with an EX rank skill." The Duchess hesitated, her usual composed demeanor faltering slightly
"An Ex rank skill?" I looked at her with a shocked expression but after seeing her calm face I realized she wasn't playing around.
Of course I was surprised even I, the Hero chosen by the goddess, only had three EX rank skills. To find someone else with such a powerful ability was almost unheard of.
"What is it?" I asked slightly exited but I was confused as the Duchess's expression turned wary.
"I think you should meet with him yourself." She spoke but seemed to refuse to meet my eyes adding even more confusion to my mind.
"Why are you so hesitant to tell me?" I asked, trying to understand her unease with reluctance to explain further only heightening my curiosity.
"It's not something I can easily explain you need to see for yourself." She sighed, finally looking at me with a deep gaze.
"Where is he?" I nodded, understanding that whatever this was, it was beyond the usual.
"The guild has him waiting in one of their private rooms since they wanted to ensure he was legitimate before bringing him to you," the Duchess explained.
"Alright let's go meet him then," I said, feeling a mixture of anticipation and trepidation.

The adventurer's guild was a building that still left me amazed, just like the first time I had visited one of its branches. Its towering structure and bustling atmosphere were a testament to the strength and unity of adventurers from all walks of life.
We stepped inside, greeted by the familiar noise of clinking armor and lively chatter. A professional-looking middle-aged man approached us, his demeanor calm and collected. I would've have thought he was nothing more than a receptionist if not for the guild master pin that was on the left side of his chest.
"Hero, Duchess," The guild master greeted us with a respectful nod and a deep bow before gesturing with his hand.
"Please, follow me. I'll lead you to the man you're looking for." He was straight to the point as he started walking and perhaps that was what I liked about the adventurer guild most.
'There's no run around like when we deal with nobles' I thought looking toward the duchess
"Shall we" The duchess waited for me to me before she followed slightly behind me.
