A long night of muddled thoughts and a numb heart had passed before the start of a new day came. I was still reeling from the things I had been forced to watch last night but for some reason I was handling my emotions very well, Even now as I stood in the south hollow guild's state of the art training hall watching Evelyn in the center of the room my heart showed no reaction but numbness.
'She's reached the level between S and SS" it was my personal opinion one born out of my knowledge of years of fighting.
SS rank is basically considered unmeasurable and was a rank only invented to give the hero party representation. There were many S ranked but none we had crossed could pass the last hurdle to be of any help to us, Before last night I could estimate that Evelyn was around the middle of B rank and yet now she had grown to such a level so easily.
'But she's still lacking' I thought seeing my sister swinging her sword around with a slightly exited expression painting on her face.
She swung her sword with precise movements that were almost similar to Ella's, each strike and parry more fluid and powerful than the last. Such a strong change would leave most uncomfortable in their movements but Evelyn got the handle of it quickly and had a natural grace to her steps and swings.
"Do you feel a difference?" I broke the silence as Evelyn sheeted her sword and walked over with smile on her face.
"Yes it's truly incredible" She replied wiggling around her fingers with a look of amazement in her green eyes.
"I feel stronger and faster… it's like I'm a new person" Evelyn looked truly happy almost as if she wasn't humiliated last night and forced to prostrate nude.
"When you said three times I thought you were at least exaggerating even a tiny bit but…" My sister shook her head as she gripped the handle of her blade tightly.
"I think I can pass the ranking test for S rank" Evelyn had an expression as if she accomplished a dream she had always had and I could only nod
I tried to suppress the lingering unease in my chest but my numb heart started to react. How could I be so unhappy when my sister looked so happy, it was a thought I had for a second before taking a deep breath and calming down once more.
"I agree" I said forcing a smile as I put my hands in my pockets.
"You should definitely pass it" My words made Evelyn's smile softened as she gazed at me deeply.
"Thank you for being there" She spoke suddenly catching me off guard with her voice sincere.
"I know it wasn't easy to see me…in that state" Evelyn made an expression of shame and she looked at the floor with red cheeks.
"I~its all the bastards fault" My sister shook slightly and a look of anger filled her face as she thought about the one who defiled her.
"Of course" I replied to her words of gratitude and not her outburst with a small and weak smile filling my face.
"You're my sister I'll always be there for you" My word felt heavy as I looked at my beautiful elder sister with a complicated gaze.
"Maybe you'll at least keep up in a spar against me" I decided to lighten the atmosphere between us as I smirked at her.
"Funny" Evelyn sneered at me in a typical fashion to when we were children making my heart feel warm.
"...little brother" I was confused as I saw Evelyn make an expression of hesitation before she spoke up.
"But I've been thinking…" Her words once again trailed off and she seemed almost nervous as our eyes met.
"i want to travel with you and your party." Evelyn finally got the words off her tongue and I felt my eyes go wide with surprise.
"You want to come with us?" I can't say that I was surprised after all I knew my sister better than anyone.
'Damn it' I was hoping no praying that she wouldn't ask but it seems my luck had ran out.
I was quite only receiving Evelyn's deep gaze with a racing heart. The truth being is that I would love to spend more time with my sister but the problem was that she wasn't strong enough, I could let her come but the question was was I willing to possibly deliver her into Leon's grasp.
'No' I subconsciously cut off my own thoughts not wanting to fall into the rabbit hole before looking at my sister.
Hesitation filled my entire body before I finally made a decision and let out a soft sigh.
"Alright," I agreed with a both fake and real smile forming on my face.
"I'd like that…I've missed you too." I felt embarrassed saying such soft words to Evelyn but she seemed to enjoy them as her eyes sparkled.
"Great!" Evelyn's face lit up with joy and she clapped her hands but I quickly spoke once more.
"Just promise me you'll follow my lead" I chuckled feeling a sense of relief and excitement fill my bones.
"Of course" Evelyn agreed with her tone sincere but I couldn't help but wonder how true her words were.
"little brother!" I couldn't react as my sister quickly moved forward wrapping her arms around my head and pulling.
"Mhh!" I could only let out a surprised yelped that was muffled as my face was smothered by Evelyn's prominent bosom.
'Well I guess we'll be spending more time together' I let out a soft sigh and stopped resisting letting my face be surrounded by the pillowy bags of fat.
