My Last Hunt

Chapter 39: Headstrong Level One Chaser (11)

Headstrong Level One Chaser (part 11)

"So what if we are not begging?" Qiao squinted his eyes, while carefully observing them. According to his estimate the third member of the team was going to attack while the first one was only badmouthing and distracting them.

They were here to make trouble for these two people and mock them

"Aha, aren't you a bit cocky. But then again if you were just a coward it would be no fun," their team leader mocked with disdain. He was here to make sure that these two would end up in miserable conditions and were made to beg for their lives. This was his method of bullying others to make a fearful reputation of his team. This way no one would act haughty in front of them.

Many other teams also wanted and tried to make their teams reputation fearful so that weaker people would be scared away and they could steal the spoils from other teams and act as they liked.

This was another dark aspect of the teams and their blunt methods.

"Why do you continue to grovel like a dog," before Qiao could answer, another mocking voice was heard.

The tone was so blunt and disrespectful that the team leader who was here to bully was stunned for a few moments.

Qiao could recognize this voice as it belonged to the chaser whom he has just saved from falling down in the valley. But he was apprehensive as to how the chaser had followed them and what was his purpose to speak between them?

Most of people and chasers always minded their own business in such matters and never jumped in the fire which was initiated by other to burn in it.

He turned around and sure enough, it was the same chaser. He was standing and eyeing the team leader of the other party.

The chaser understood saw his gaze and spoke, "I was passing by and thought to check on what is going," he immediately molded an excuse.

"Ah, I remember you are from the D team of the low level, how dare you interrupt here. Don't you know I am leader of B team in middle level?" the team leader spoke wickedly.

Most of the chasers were aware how his team earned the position of B level.

He and his team mates were notorious for bullying newbies. Always using them as bait, they were able to earn much spoils without putting a lot of effort. Even the Guild was very happy with their performance, although the Guild was aware of their underhanded means all that really mattered was after all leveling, right?

In their eyes, everything was fair in reaching levels and earning experience points.

For them it did not really matter how it was done, as long a team could become stronger and bring back to the Guild enough treasures and make their reputation better all was allowed.

And D Team was the lowest team level in a Guild.

"Definitely I know what it means to be in B level, correct me if I am wrong. It means to be more shameless and barbaric than the team D, right?" the chaser waved his hand in the air and lampooned the team leader in his own way.

Qiao was still in dilemma of situation.

Linwin was on the edges to see what was going on.

"Enough of that, I want to know why are you bothering us?" Qiao sternly asked. He wanted to know if they had any motive to strangely come after them like this. Most of the time to settle a grudge directly was never a first choice of any chaser unless there was something else behind the motivating them.

He was right, as all the chasers cared about was their experience points and didn't want to lose hard earned points in any reckless brawl.

The team leader shook his head, "You are still a newbie so brother Chi just tell him why we are here," he gestured to his third man and laughed.

With the useless verbal war he could tell that the chaser who was here and exchanging words with him was not actually here to help Qiao or the other newbie.

So, he could just go forward with his plan and move to grab Qiaos weapon. That was his aim to come here.

Many teams had already noticed this special weapon and they were looking for an opportunity to rob it from the youth.

The man who was given order leapt toward Qiao; they never took Linwin as someone who could interfere with them.

As for the other chaser, he was just a passerby, right?

On the other hand, Qiao quickly noticed the gleam in the leader's eye as he looked at the weapon in Qiao's hand. As soon as he got sliver of what was their actual intention, he ran shouting towards Linwin to run too.

He did not look toward the chaser who had joined later.

Seeing the situation develop in such a manner, the chaser also joined Qiao in running and was able to catch up to him soon, "Why are you running away, you can answer their attack, right?" He could not understand why this headstrong and defiant youth was running now.

"What, you want me to attack back? Did you not count their numbers?" Qiao saw the chaser matching with his speed and answered. He was confused why was this guy following him? He should have left until now, no?

The chaser looked back and gasped, alright I did not properly count them.

'pfft' Qiao wanted to cry after he saw this.

Their team had a total of six members and three of them were of level two. It would be equal to smashing his head straight in a wall if Qiao had decided to stay and get into a battle with them.

"Then where we are heading?" The chaser asked in confusion.

"We are heading nowhere," Qiao spoke in his indifferent tone. He was simply going to practice his agility by running from the chasers behind him.

He also looked back to spot Linwin, he was not level one yet and he must be feeling difficulty to match with their speed. Moreover the enemy was stronger, it would soon turn into a more intense situation soon.

But the team was not paying any attention to Linwin at all. They only wanted to rob the weapon and teach a lesson to the arrogant youth, Qiao.

When the chaser who was running alongside Qiao heard him he gasped in fear, how far and how long had he decided to run?

"If you are not willing to get beaten by them just change your path and leave my side," Qiao bluntly spoke this time.

He did not want to keep someone who was not reliable.

"I don't fear getting beaten and I can't change my mind when I have decided on something," the chaser refused to leave and kept running side by side.

Qiao went silent for some time.

"Have you ever hunted a human?" Qiao asked the chaser seeing that he was not leaving.

The chaser looked toward Qiao while running with full speed. He was literally speechless.

"Then today you will see humans being hunted," Qiao understood from his silence and side smiled. This would be a really taboo thing to perform and the chaser understood it.
