My Life in Multiverse

Ch 21 – Ceremony

After a few days, Yami informed Alex and Noelle to visit the Knight Headquarters to make a report.

Luck was excited about it too as he could fight someone powerful but Yami sent him and Magna on a mission.

Finral sent Alex and Noelle to the capital through Spatial Magic.

The duo stumbled upon the members of Golden Dawn who were with them in the dungeon.

Unlike before, Klaus was very happy to meet with Asta and Noelle.

Alex was a little surprised to see Noelle and Mimosa behaving childishly as they both had developed complicated feelings for him but he was still looking for future fun with both of the girls together.

He patted Mimosa's shoulder to calm her down but unaware to him, Eden silently pushed some of the chaos magic into her body.

(Hehe... it will be much more interesting this way, rather than waiting for long... I'll help this guy so he can achieve the goal for my master.)

Eden thought silently.

Mimosa blushed heavily, feeling her body heating up from his touch...

Klaus guided the group as he was the most familiar with the place among them.

But just when he reached the entrance, he stopped and his eyes widened in surprise. His body trembled and he quickly knelt on one knee in front of a person standing at the entrance.

Even Noelle and Mimosa followed suit and kneeled down too with the four-eyed magician.

"I...I never imagined that you'd be the one to..." Klaus nervously stuttered.

Alex stared at him lazily.

"Is there something on my face?" Seeing him staring at him, Julius asked.

Alex shook his head and said playfully. "Nothing. I just wanted to ask, if the Wizard King was keeping his belongings safe now."

"Hey!... Watch your mouth!"

"Asta!"

"*cough* Ha Ha Ha..." Julius Novachrono gave a hollow laugh, avoiding answering his question before he brought them inside.

Klaus and Noelle provided their reports about the incidents.

Alex saw Julius getting happy like a child after reading the words from Yuno's grimoire.

As he knew what it was, he just ignored them.

Suddenly, Yuno asked. "C-Could I ask you, Sir?"

"What is it?..."

"How do I become the Wizard King?"

"Oh, so you are aiming to become the emperor?! Well, that's the way a true knight should be!" Julius laughed happily and looked at Alex. "And what about you?"

"Strongest Magic Knight in this world!" Alex said with a resolved tone as he looked into his eyes.

"My, my, your goal is even bigger and more difficult than your friend's. Nobody has ever been able to achieve that."

"Haha, but doesn't it make it even more fun? Since I'll be the first to stand at the apex!" Alex grinned, his domineering aura radiating out, affecting the people around him, especially the girls who had admiring expressions on their faces.

"I can't believe you guys would be so tactless to ask that of the current emperor! Listen, the emperor is someone with a benevolent heart that has the trust of the citizens.." Klaus explained as he pushed up his glasses.

"You're wrong!" Alex interrupted and said lazily. "The only thing needed to become Wizard King is... Results!"

"Huh?"

He heard many noises from the group and the four of them were dumbfounded.

Even Julius looked a little surprised before nodding his head seriously. "Yes, it's the results."

"You can't protect others with pride, and the trust of others comes with merit. There is only one thing people want from the Wizard King... The merit that proves they are the best. Gain merit. Continuously gaining merit is everything. Anyone who can't do that can never stand at the top." Julius stated with a serious expression. "And to become the strongest you have to defeat everyone and prove that no one is better than you."

Alex grinned as he touched the hilt of his sword. "Then I'm looking forward to a battle with the Wizard King someday."

Julius stared deep into his eyes and smiled. "I'll also look forward to it."

'His eyes reminded me of you, Yami. A powerful and untamable spirit, huh? And the other one has a strong resolve. A Strong Will! Just like you William.'

"Now then! I've gathered the members that have gathered the most stars here today for the medal presentation! And I'd like you guys to participate too!" Julius brightly smiled.

"What?" Yuno and others were taken by surprise, well except Alex.

Julius led the five of them to a church-like building.

"So, do you think... You'll be able to produce more results than these guys?"

Julius looked back at the duo with anticipation before opening the door.

Alex looked ahead and recognized almost all of them. He gave a little nod to Fuegoleon before standing at the side with the others.

After the five of them entered, Julius started the ceremony.

While distributing the medals to the knight he gave them friendly advice but judging from their faces Asta could tell most of them were arrogant or ignorant about his advice.

"Now then, there's a simple reception set up for you, so go enjoy yourselves. Oh, I almost forgot. I've invited some special guests today and one of them is the Anti-magic Wizard. Make sure to get to know each other well." Julius said.

Marx whispered something into his ear. And with that, Julius left the place.

"Something came up, so I have to excuse myself, but have fun!" This was his last sentence before leaving.

Then everyone moved to a big hall where tables filled with dishes, wines, etc were already arranged.

Alex picked up a drink and walked over to the window. He didn't want to destroy his mood by drinking with those arrogant knights.

"All those stares are beginning to hurt. How are we supposed to enjoy this?" Klaus asked as he observed around. "Why did the emperor bring us here?!"

"A-Asta, you don't want to eat something?" Mimosa approached Asta and asked. She sounded like a little girlfriend, worried for him.

Alex turned around and looked at others before saying with a sigh. "Nah, I'm not hungry! And seeing all of their faces, I'm afraid I might not be able to eat for a week."

His voice was not loud but enough for everyone to hear clearly.

"What?"

"This slum rat..."

"How... How dare he?!..."

A green-haired man stepped forward. He was wearing the robe of the golden dawn. He summoned his grimoire and sent a sand-based attack at Alex.

"You Dirty Slum Rat! Who permitted you... Heok?"

Before he could finish his sentence, he saw his attack vanish in thin air, followed by a cold wind passing through his face.

Feeling a little cold on his cheek, Alecdora touched it. When he brought his finger to his eyes, he saw it covered in his blood.
