Just as the fight ended on Alex's side, Fazell was facing his former students along with a large army.

Both parties were staring at each other, tension growing in the air.

Ladros tiltled his head with a twisted smile, muttering.

"Hmm, who is that? He's not a witch! What kind of fool is he challenge us alone?"

Fanzell ignored Ladros and addressed Mars, shouting. "MARS!! DO YOU RECOGNIZE ME?!"
Mars just silently stared at him without replying a word.

Ladros on the other hand smiled and said. "Hey, isn't that man... our former teacher?"

"Ladros..." Fazell's expression darkened.

"How lucky! I got to kill my old teacher!" Ladros raised his hand and shot a big magic bullet, showing his intentions.

Fanzell didn't even flinch and created a giant sword of magic, slashing it with ease.

"Phew! Nicely done teach!" Ladros smiled, a playful smile like a cat playing with a mouse.

Dark lines appeared on Fanzell's forehead as he said coldly. "Like I thought... you guys have changed. Then I'll have to fix my past."

The wind danced around Fanzell, forming a shapeless cloak as he released his prowess...

The fight quickly grew in intensity as Fanzell charged between the army and easily defeated most of the soldiers with his wind magic.

The man might look like an idiot but he was a former teacher and a great swordsman on top of that.

His skills were no joke!

Dominante and Vanessa supported him from the ground and launched attacks on the Diamond Kingdom soldiers with the help of the witches.

Mariella used the chaos as a cover and silently assassinated dozens of soldiers with ease, a testament to the skills of the former assassins of the Diamond Kingdom.

Fanzell and his team were dominating the battlefield, easily dealing with the army of the Diamond Kingdom.

But it was not until Fanzell faced Ladros. Since the latter had no magic, Fanzell tried to deal with his former students quickly but he never knew that after he left, his former student had participated in a crazy experiment, gaining the ability to absorb and expel mana.

Ladros absorbed the strongest attack of his teacher and then released it back into a large-scale AOE attack, creating massive damage on the field, almost wiping out his former teacher and all the witches.

Ladros grabbed Dominate and planned to kill her in front of Fanzell so he could hurt him but Mars stepped in and protected her, standing in front of his former teacher.

Ladros was overjoyed with the situation since he always wanted to kill Mars but just when Ladros was going to launch an attack on Mars, a voice came from behind him.

"Oye, ugly face, you're in my way!"

A shiver ran down Ladros's spine as he trembled in his spot. He failed to realize that someone appeared behind him so easily. He turned around and pushed his palm forward, aiming to release a burst of mana into the person's face.

But nothing happened even if waited for a few seconds.

"What the hell..." Ladros was startled by it, staring at his hand dumbly.

"You're annoying, ugly face." Alex unsheathed his sword and slashed Ladors, destroying the crystals embedded into his forehead and chest.

Ladros saw a black light flashing in front of his face and blood splurted out from his chest.

"U-Uh..." Before the general realized what happened, he was lying on the ground, strength seeping out of his body.

Tilting his head, he saw a young man putting back the sword and walking towards Mars and others while carrying a person in his arms.

"W-Who... are you?" Ladros muttered with difficulty.

Alex ignored him and looked at Fanzell, speaking playfully. "Oh my, did you fight your students or play in the mud with them?"

Fanzell's facial muscles twitched and he shouted. "Just shut up and give a hand here. You really take your sweet time there."

"Hahaha... well, I'm preparing a gift so it takes time." Alex grinned.

"A gift?" Fanzell turned his attention to the unconscious person in his arms, most preciously a woman. "Who is she...?"

Alex smiled and looked at Mars who was staring at him with a nervous expression, standing in a defensive position. The last defeat was still very fresh in his mind. He clearly remembered how Alex wiped the floor with him with ease.

Alex raised Fana and said. "Hey crystal guy! Look, I brought you a gift."

Mars saw the person and his eyes shivered in shock. His entire body tensed up and he trembled in his spot.

"H-How... it's not..."

Alex passed Fana to Mars and said. "She is the same person from your past... This time, make sure to not lose her again."

Mars raised his head to stare at Alex's face before he turned his attention back to Fana.
Alex understood his complex emotions and said. "You will get your answers once she wakes up. Her memories might be foggy so you have to help her remember her past, okay?"

"Hey, you... aren't you going to kill me?" Ladros asked weakly. All magic had disappeared from his body and it made her extremely weak.

Alex turned to him and looked at him like he was an idiot.

"Kill you? But why?... I've no interest in killing idiots. I only kill those who deserve it!"

Alex looked at everyone who was battered and wounded from their battles, addressing them.

"Let's go back to the Witch Queen and get you all healed up!"

"Hey, Asta~... you're fine. I was so worried, you know~"

Vanessa appeared from the forest and hugged him from behind, almost making him stumble and fall down on his face.

Alex smiled and turned his head to greet her but then his eyes landed on something and he was speechless.

'What in the damn god world...'

Alex had never been so shocked in his life but this time, it really left him dumbfounded.
Currently, on the shoulder of Vanessa sat a cute and adorable cat of red color.

He couldn't help but cry out, startling everyone.

"You actually... awaken the Red Thread of Fate but how...?"

Everyone was dumbfounded by his shout since he was always calm and collected.

Vanessa glanced at the cat on her shoulder and caressed its head.

"I don't know... I just want to help you. I want to quickly deal with those soldiers and then go to your side quickly... My grimoire suddenly opened and a cat appeared out of nowhere..."

Alex was speechless since when did it was so easy to awaken this magic?

'Damn! The plot twist is really scary... Even without my interference, she must have awakened it somehow...'
