My Movie Queen

Chapter 23

While the other teams were fully immersed in their tasks, Yanna and Vanessa appeared unfazed by the announcement, confusing the audience and crew.

The director, observing Team Yin-yang, grew increasingly frustrated after the first week of the Survival Show. Unlike the other teams who diligently searched for additional bags and actively interacted with the audience, Vanessa's team seemed less enthusiastic.

They often spent their time talking amongst themselves or foraging for food. Yanna, most of the time, appeared occupied with teasing and playing with a rabbit, while Vanessa quietly observed, weaving a basket out of vines.

It seemed as if they had forgotten the true nature of the show — survival alone was not enough; they also needed to engage with the audience.

"We're in last place," Vanessa narrated, expressing her thoughts and instantly providing relief to the viewers. Even the crew gave Vanessa a thumbs-up on screen.

"Yeah," Yanna responded, and silence filled the air once again.

Yanna glanced back at Vanessa and noticed her willingness to follow her lead. However, Yanna knew she couldn't be too lenient; after all, the two-week agreement was finally over.

-----

Yanna had asked Vanessa to take it easy and relax for the next two weeks after providing food for two days on Alice's Team.

Vanessa grew curious and asked why, receiving a warm smile from Yanna.

"To experience what it's like to live on an island and adapt to the environment and climate around us."

------

"Vanes, is there a prize if we win?" Yanna asked.

Vanessa thought that Yanna might have forgotten about it, as all the details had been written in the contract.

"Yeah, $100,000," Vanessa answered briefly, leaving Yanna, who only had $10 in her e-wallet, frozen.

Yanna had no idea that there was prize money involved. She was just casually asking since all she knew was that 'she' signed the paper 'her' manager asked for, without reading or asking about it.

But to think 'she' would stumble upon such a great opportunity at the last moment was unbelievable. Yanna immediately stood up and walked to their bag.

"What are you doing?" Vanessa asked this time.

"I'll get the map," Yanna answered briefly.

She turned to face Vanessa, her eyes filled with excitement and resolution after retrieving the map.

Vanessa grew nervous as she had never seen Yanna like this before.

"What's wrong? Are you okay? " she asked cautiously.

"Vanessa, be ready because we're going to win this game this time," Yanna said firmly, exuding confidence, as her smile grew wider.

Vanessa breathed a sigh of relief and shook her head, worrying about nothing at all. She hadn't expected Yanna to be so fired up about the prize money, though.

"You're fired up just like that, huh?"

"Of course! We're talking about $100,000 here," said Yanna excitedly.

"You forgot about it? It was written in the contract we signed earlier."

"Well, I didn't read it. My focus at that time was in a different place, but it doesn't matter."

"You say that like it really didn't matter, but when you learned about the prize, it turned you into a child who is so excited to go on a field trip."

"Oh, come on, Vanessa. I need the money. How can I let this chance slip through my hands? If I don't win this, it might take a while before I can treat you to a drink."

"Fine, since we already had enough fun anyway, so what's the plan?" asked Vanessa while stretching her arms and body

With Yanna's sudden surge of competitiveness, Vanessa started to feel excited too.

"We'll bring a knife, inhibitors, restraining stickers just in case, and a lighter. We'll make a move before lunch."

"Alright, I'll take care of it. You study the map and make a plan for where we should search for a backpack."

"Okay."

The people watching also got excited as they knew how boring these two people had spent their last two weeks. It was like they were watching a healing camp rather than a survival show with a mix of getting to know each other.

…

[ At last, the healing camp is over! ]

[ Watching Vanessa and Yanna during their two-week healing camp makes me get to know them again.]

[ Upstairs, I know what you are talking about. While they are getting familiar with each other, I feel like I'm just starting to know them too.]

[ Yeah, in this show, I found out that Yanna is totally different than before. Now I doubt if that was really her in the rumors.]

[ Yanna is pretty, reliable, and optimistic. This is the Yanna I knew before.]

[ You all keep talking about Yanna. Haven't you noticed that Vanessa is also different here? ]

[ I know, I didn't expect my queen to know how to make a craft. ]

[ No, the point is how she smiles and talks more.]

[ These two are really something.. I- ]

[ Upstairs, finish your word.]

[ I ship them! ]

[ Oh gosh, me too! ]

[Guys, don't be fooled by Yanna! She's not a good person! ]

[ We are yin-yang shippers, we don't care about their past.]

[ That's right, I'm starting to like Yanna. Look how she takes care of my queen. ]

[ You guys are insane.]

[ Somebody take the villain out of here. This is Yanna's live broadcast channel, why is that kind of person even here? ]

…

Unknown to Team Yin-yang, Vanessa meticulously equipped herself with the necessary tools. With a rope securely tied around her waist, she ensured she was prepared for any situation that may arise accompanied by a knife and a lighter like Yanna asked her to bring Vanessa also carried inhibitors and a restraining sticker in her pocket,

With her shoulder-length white hair neatly tied back, Vanessa emerged, radiating an air of effortless stylishness. Yanna couldn't help but be amazed by her appearance. It was evident that Vanessa's preparedness and self-assured demeanor made her look so cool.

"What?"

"You look so cool right now, Vanes."

"Heh... Thanks for the compliment. Let's go. "

"What about the little rabbit? Won't you bring it?"

Vanessa paused when she heard about the rabbit. Taking care of the rabbit made her regretful because Yanna spent more time playing with it than being with her. While it was enjoyable to watch them play, Yanna's attention was divided between her and the rabbit.

And now, with the opportunity to be alone without the rabbit, Vanessa readily declined to bring it along.

"Alright, let's go then,", following Yanna carefully and marking the trees along the way.

"Vanes?" called out Yanna.

"Hm?" responded Vanessa.

"Thank you," Yanna said appreciatively.

"What for?" asked Vanessa.

"When I suggested we take a break for two weeks, you didn't complain. And even when I made a spontaneous decision just now, you followed without questioning it. Are you placing too much trust in me?"

The viewers and even the crew agreed with Yanna, acknowledging the newfound motivation but expressing concern about the lack of preparation.

"Really? But I just have this feeling that if something unfavorable were to happen, you would be there for me, right?" Vanessa replied.

"Of course," assured Yanna.

"Then that's my answer," Vanessa said.

"What? Are we playing riddles now?" Vanessa asked playfully.

"Yanna, I trust you and your decision-making because I know you won't let any harm come to me," Vanessa concluded.
