My Vampire

Chapter 52: A moving shadow

The next day. At the morning assembly, the number of soldiers was noticeably reduced. The commanding officer commanded.

“Check the number of soldiers! Immediately!”

The commanding officer counted the men, but got agitated when the numbers didn’t add up.

‘*The ones who disappeared were hunters sent by the church. What's going on*?’

“When I got reports from the troops, it was still not enough. The multinational forces even came to support the UN forces. This is not good for us! What are those church people thinking?! I thought they were supposed to protect us from the monsters!”

The soldiers were upset by their commander, who was clearly irritated.

“The battle is still in truce, but with these numbers... what are we going to do? And they're bringing UN troops over there.......We need to gather our troops......"

The soldiers tensed up.

“I know! I’ll try to get in touch with someone else, get some men. Wait here.”

With that, he walked into what appeared to be a conference room. He used the phone on the desk to call somewhere.

"... Please explain what this is about! At this rate, we're at a disadvantage. The hunters sent from your side are gone! This is not the way things are supposed to go!"

He slammed on his desk and yelled. A small laugh could be heard on the other end of the phone.

“Well... well... it looks like that family has gathered. Now we know they are all here. I’ll use the hunters too. This time, instead of hunters like before, let's send hunters who specialize in monsters to them.

“Okay, please do it. I'm counting on you. The war is now in a truce, so this won’t reduce the population! We need to expand the scope of the war, and launch a massive terrorist attack at the same time!”

“Yes. Then let’s launch terrorist attacks in various countries. Just ignore the United Nations. Over here we have a big organization called the Church. UN forces, for example, cannot move with so many hostages in our hands. The whole nation is a hostage now! Break the armistice treaty! Let the country perish! We who remain shall be the leaders of that country!”

After hanging up the phone, the man laughed loudly for a moment. Then he turned to the soldier at his side and said,

“Let the battle begin! Don’t worry about the citizens, you can attack the city too! Missiles and bullets are being sent. Start getting ready!”

Hearing this, the soldier quickly saluted and left the room.

*‘This is not good. There will be many casualties. I have to tell them’.*

The soldier says to another

“I’m sorry, but I’m going to the bathroom. You go ahead.”

With that, he disappeared directly into the depths of the forest. No one noticed his disappearance."
