My Vampire

Chapter 54: Assassin

I left Yuki with Kazuya and headed for where my brothers were waiting for me. I headed there with Kamil, Liza, and their dependents. We entered the United Nations Garrison base.

“I’m here to see my brother Mikey. I’m Marcus, a doctor.”

I said and showed my credentials. Kamil and Liza seemed to have face passes. They let them in without saying anything. I guess it’s easy to remember their faces because they stand out so much.

We were led into the room where Mikey was.

“You’re here.”

Mikey looked happy. Then suddenly his complexion changed.

“Who are you? How did you manage to come in here!”

He yelled at the soldier behind me.

The man muttered.

“Oh, no. I thought I'd done a good job of sneaking in."

He smiled wickedly.

"I'm here to kill you monsters!"

And he pulled out a pistol. The bullet was probably a silver bullet. He pointed the pistol at brother Mikey.

“You’re the eldest son, Mikey or something. You’re practically the head of the vampire clan right now, aren’t you? And your dad, the chief, is missing at the moment, too, right?”

And then my eyes met the man’s. Instantly, his expression turned grim.

"You must be Marcus!”

The man glared at me.

"That’s right. Did I do something to offend you?”

“I know that you went berserk in the church. Because of that, our family line has gone from nobility to commoners! You don't even know what it's like for your family to be ostracized! You have so many dependents, so how can you!”

The man kept staring at me.

“What is wrong with being an ordinary human being? Some of you don't even have enough to eat or to seek medical treatment!"

“So what! I don't want to live like that! I was a nobleman before, but because of you, I'm a commoner now... I can't allow that at all!"

“I guess that means the aristocracy of that time is still here. Look, aren’t you free now? It’s better to be free than to be tied down by those ties.”

“We can’t break free from those ties. The church only thinks of us as pawns. I don’t care about those church people! And I hate you for reducing my family from nobility to commoners! I know your weakness. Go join your mother Marie!”

He shouted and pointed his loaded pistol, this time with a silver bullet, at me. I screamed at the man. I was more than pissed off now!

*You just say what you want to say*!

“ME! Do you know what happened to Marie, who was cheated out of her life by you church guys, happened right here in front of my eyes. I will never forget it! You pretended to shake hands with her, but then dove a knife through her heart! That’s not fair! She only came here to make peace with you people, to reconcile. That! That! I will never forgive you for that!”

A gunshot was heard. He fired his pistol at me."
