Mythical Era: My Evolution into a Celestial Beast

Chapter 268: Terrifying Humans and the Slumber of the Colossal Beast (II)

Chapter 268: Terrifying Humans and the Slumber of the Colossal Beast (II)

The Thunder Beast’s words didn't deter the Silver Dragon; they only fueled its enthusiasm. Saixitia's purpose for arriving in this undeveloped world was to create a colossal beast empire, eradicate all other life forms, and ascend as a mighty ruler like its mother.

Fortunately, upon its arrival, it found itself in command of two transcendent creatures bearing traits of ancient attributes, alongside a formidable dragon beast whose power matched its own. With the addition of its own power, this force would be unstoppable.

With this thought, the Silver Dragon felt confident.

The Thunder Beast growled. Roar! Very well, as the ruler of the Dragon Palace, I’ll trouble you, Saixitia, to build an underwater palace as our headquarters.

What? The Silver Dragon’s eyes filled with confusion.

The Thunder Beast explained. Roar! Our Dragon Palace was just established not long ago, and we haven’t had time to build a magnificent residence. This doesn’t match the image of a great power. In truth, the Dragon Palace was actually part of Thunder Fiery’s cover story, which it had created just ten minutes ago.

Roar! As a great force of power, we must provide our subordinates with a sense of belonging and honor. Having a palace where everyone can live is a basic requirement. After all, we are the Dragon Palace, the soon-to-be rulers of the ocean's colossal beast empire. We can't have everyone just digging a hole on the seabed to sleep in, right?

Roar! Plus, Saixitia, you’re the one with the ice ability that can condense and shape water, making you perfect for this hard labor... um, I mean, for creating this grand palace. So this difficult task can only be entrusted to you.

Hearing the Thunder Beast’s logical analysis, the Silver Dragon nodded and growled. Roar! No problem, leave it to the great Saixitia.

Roar! To welcome Saixitia to the Dragon Palace, we’ll have a celebration banquet once the palace is built. Baxia, go fetch the growth crystals from the island and dig up the pit in the trench to bring back the newly condensed life energy crystal shards.

Roar! And Big Horn, head to the purple reefs and collect some of the purple substances. It’s been long enough, they should have regenerated by now. Remember to wrap them with energy.

Squeak squeak squeak! Okay.

Roar! No problem.

Although they didn't know what the Thunder Beast was planning, the two colossal beasts trusted it and left.

Roar! It sounds like our Dragon Palace has a lot of valuable resources? The Silver Dragon asked curiously.

The Thunder Beast growled. Roar!

Even though our Dragon Palace was just established, we control a large territory with multiple resource points, like the crystals on this island that can accelerate physical growth.

Roar! Aside from that, there are the life energy crystal shards I previously mentioned. We also have purple substances capable of enhancing the energy of transcendent creatures, as well as Magma Fruits that strengthen fire energy...

As the Thunder Beast continued its introduction, the Silver Dragon became more and more excited. It hadn't realized the Dragon Palace controlled so many resource points, meaning there would be plenty to consume in the future.

At that moment, the two dragons arrived at a depth of over a thousand meters in the sea, more than twenty kilometers away from the deserted island.

Roar Saixitia, let's build our Dragon Palace here, the Thunder Beast suggested.

Roar! No problem, leave it to the great Saixitia, the Silver Dragon responded confidently.

With that, an explosive surge of endless white power burst from the Silver Dragon, freezing large sections of seawater. Influenced by the power of its domain, the ice transformed according to its will. Under the guidance of the Thunder Beast, who directed where to reinforce and where to curve, a colossal underwater ice palace began to take form.

The structure consisted of five main palaces, each over a hundred meters tall and several hundred meters wide, supported by ice pillars ten meters thick. The two largest palaces were designated for the dragon kings, while the other two were residences for the General and Chancellor, the Single-horned Kun and the Dragon Turtle.

At the front stood the Grand Dragon Palace, two hundred meters tall and several hundred meters wide, supported by ninety-nine ice pillars, intended as a place for future meetings and gatherings.

Encircled by an undulating ice wall towering a hundred meters high, the palace complex stretched across ten kilometers, emerging as a marvel of the underwater world under Saixitia's craftsmanship.

While the construction overall remained somewhat crude, both the Thunder Beast and the breathless Silver Dragon found themselves rather content with the outcome.

Because the ice was formed by the power of a level 8 dragon, it was extremely durable, and virtually unbreakable by ordinary beasts below level 7. With occasional maintenance by Saixitia, this palace could last a long time. If Saixitia reached the mythical level in the future and used the power of the laws to strengthen the palace, it could last for millennia until the energy completely dissipated.

After a brief rest, the Silver Dragon suddenly became puzzled and growled. Roar! Ao Batian, if we are to dominate this undeveloped world, shouldn’t the palace be on land?

The Thunder Beast looked at it strangely. Roar! When did I say we were going to dominate the world? I said we were going to dominate the ocean.

Roar! Why the ocean? The Silver Dragon asked, even more puzzled.

Roar! Because the humans are on land and are too terrifying. We can’t defeat them. In fact, you should avoid flying in the sky in the future. If they discover you, they’ll hunt you down and kill you.

Roar! What are humans?

The Thunder Beast was taken aback. Roar! Have you never seen humans in the mythical world?

The Silver Dragon shook its head in confusion.

Roar! How did you come to this world?

The Silver Dragon growled. Roar! I came through a passage in the Balong Colossal Beast King’s territory. It’s deep under the sea. Shortly after coming out, I ran into Big Horn.

The Thunder Beast was momentarily perplexed. Could it be that the underwater passages lead to areas far removed from human territories, or perhaps entirely separate from them? Otherwise, this dragon should have at least heard of humans.

This likely explained why humans weren’t concerned with the deep-sea passages—there was no direct conflict due to the distance.

With this in mind, the Thunder Beast growled. Roar! Humans dominate the land in this world. They are numerous, and though individually weak, they possess the powers of technology and true martial arts.

Roar! Their technology enables them to monitor the entire world and launch attacks at any time and place. The destructive power of these attacks are comparable to that of a mythical king beast (such as hydrogen bombs), capable of annihilating their enemies.

Roar! Moreover, the power of true martial arts makes some humans incredibly strong. To my knowledge, they have killed many mythical king beasts that had attacked them.

Roar! That’s why I usually stay in the sea and rarely set foot on land. This world is very dangerous.

Roar! Humans are that powerful? The Silver Dragon’s eyes widened in disbelief. In its understanding, mythical king beasts were incredibly powerful, each ruling vast territories and commanding countless creatures. Their roars could shake the heavens and earth.

But in this world, even mighty king beasts had been killed by these humans on land, and they could unleash world-destroying attacks comparable to those of king beasts at any time, anywhere?

Terrifying! It truly was fortunate that the great Saixitia hadn’t ventured directly onto land, but had instead encountered Ao Batian and his companions first. The Silver Dragon was filled with a sense of lingering fear.

Since there was still time before the Kun and the Dragon Turtle returned, the Thunder Beast curiously asked the Silver Dragon about the mythical world. It had always been curious about that place, which was one of the reasons it had later decided to make peace.

Through their conversation, the Thunder Beast gained a bit of understanding of the mythical world. However, it soon turned out that the simple-minded dragon didn’t know much either.

According to the Silver Dragon, it was born in the territory of a mythical beast king, its mother, and had lived in that vast territory from birth to present.

Many colossal beasts and large creatures resided in its mother’s territory, as well as a civilization called Kuru. It was an average civilization, different from humans, who worshiped its mother as a supreme deity.

Around its mother’s territory were a few other mythical beast kings, one of which was the Balong Colossal Beast King - a powerful, but kind ruler.

At night, in the pitch black depths of the sea, a vast white glow flickered. In the enormous main hall of the Dragon Palace were two colossal and menacing draconic beasts.

There were nine steps, each one ten meters high, and the Dragon Turtle and the Kun were on either side. A step below the Kun were the four orcas.

In front of each colossal beast was a coffee table made of ice that was twenty meters long and ten meters wide and tall. On top of each table were two white crystals the size of a human thumb, a green energy crystal shard the size of a tablespoon, and a water ball, the size of a sink, containing purple substance wrapped in energy.

Overall, the banquet looked fairly impressive. However, the Silver Dragon looked at the meal in front of it in disbelief. This wasn’t even enough to fill the gap between its teeth. It was entirely different from what it had imagined.

The Silver Dragon couldn't help but growl. Roar! Ao Batian, is this the food for the banquet?

The Thunder Beast growled in response. Roar! Saixitia, you arrived at an inopportune time. We harvested these resource points just a few days ago, so there hasn't been much time for them to regrow.

Roar! If it wasn't to welcome you into the Dragon Palace, we wouldn't have gathered resources until about a month later. But don't worry, the ocean in this world is vast. After we join forces and sweep through it, we’ll have as many of these resources as we want.

Roar! I see. The Silver Dragon understood.

However, looking at the meager offerings before everyone, the Silver Dragon felt a bit embarrassed. After all, this was supposed to be a banquet to welcome it to the Dragon Palace. So the Silver Dragon reluctantly pulled out eight golden fruits from the scales under its neck.

Roar! These fruits, which I call Golden Light Fruits, are rich in energy and can promote the growth of transcendent creatures. Not only do they taste delicious, eating one can sustain you for a long time.

With that, the eight golden fruits floated toward the beasts’ tables under Saixitia’s control. The fruits came in various sizes, with small ones being the size of a sink and larger ones the size of a bathtub.

The largest ones went to the Silver Dragon and the Thunder Beast, followed by the Kun and Dragon Turtle, and the smallest ones distributed among the four mutated orcas. This was still the world of colossal beasts, where strength reigned supreme.

Squeak, squeak, squeak! So fragrant.

Roar, roar! Baxia, my mouth is watering.

Seeing the rich energy exuding from the golden fruits, the beasts grew excited. The Kun and Dragon Turtle, especially, couldn't help but feel immense admiration for the Thunder Beast.

To them, the Thunder Beast’s plan had allowed them to use a small amount of resources that no longer had much of an effect on them to exchange for larger, high-quality fruits that would significantly boost their growth.

The Silver Dragon, trying to hide its reluctance, roared generously. Roar! Lord Saixitia left in a hurry this time and didn't bring much. Let’s make do with this.

Noticing that Saixitia seemed sincere, the Thunder Beast was speechless.

Alright, so after all this time, this creature turns out to be just as poor, despite my hope of getting more valuable resources from it later.

However, the lack of resources wasn't a problem. Its ultimate goal was the Silver Dragon’s innate spatial rune. If it could obtain or borrow that innate rune for study, it could learn to comprehend spatial abilities, which would help its main body in creating top-level secret scriptures.

Lost in thought, the Thunder Beast swallowed the golden fruit, along with the purple energy substance, growth crystals, and life crystal in one gulp.

Boom!

In an instant, boundless energy exploded within the Thunder Beast, causing its body to grow visibly. Amid cracking sounds, it grew from fifty-nine to sixty meters.

Such an astonishing growth rate left Saixitia wide-eyed in disbelief. How could this be? How could Ao Batian absorb these resources so efficiently, and grow so much at such a rapid pace?

Simultaneously, the Kun and Dragon Turtle also consumed the fruits and growth crystals, and were experiencing changes. However, compared to the Thunder Beast's one-meter growth in the blink of an eye, their bodies only grew a little, less than ten centimeters.

Due to long-term consumption, the effects the growth crystals had on them had greatly diminished. What once produced half a meter of growth now barely added ten centimeters, and that was primarily due to the golden fruit.

Moreover, the golden fruit's energy had only been partially absorbed at the moment. Most of it had been stored in their bodies to be slowly digested. This was why Saixitia had felt so reluctant to part with these fruits.

While the colossal beasts were excited and bewildered, the Thunder Beast noticed that its growth halted upon reaching sixty meters.

Its level remained at the peak of level 7, but the golden fruit's energy continued to be absorbed by its body, or rather, by its seven major abilities. The Thunder Beast keenly sensed that its abilities were undergoing some sort of transformation upon reaching the peak of level 7.

So sleepy, I want to rest.

Roar! I need to sleep for a while. Don't disturb me.

With that, the Thunder Beast slowly closed its eyes, beginning its breakthrough to level 8.
