Chapter 29: Mei Terumi: Can’t Wait Any Longer! The Potential of Advancing Boil Release!

Chapter 29: Mei Terumi: Can’t Wait Any Longer! The Potential of Advancing Boil Release!

Ishihara found himself lost in thought. This brought to mind the foundational principles of chakra he had learned from Orochimaru—the basics that laid the groundwork for everything. He realized that his research had ultimately circled back to these fundamental concepts. Ishihara was reminded of his previous life, where basic sciences had seen little to no progress for decades, sometimes even centuries, hindering scientific advancement.

“If I can’t push the boundaries of chakra research further, I might find myself stuck in the future by the limitations of these basic principles.”

But that day had not yet arrived. Shaking his head, Ishihara severed the chakra link with Mei Terumi.

“Is the research over already?” Mei Terumi, seemingly snapping out of a daze, asked with a hint of surprise.

“It’s temporarily concluded,” Ishihara replied, giving her a quick glance before moving to a nearby desk and beginning to write on an empty scroll. He wasn’t a machine—after expending so much mental energy, he needed a break too.

“What’s the outcome?” Orochimaru, leaning casually against a wall, asked in a calm tone.

“The Boil Release research is complete,” Ishihara answered while writing. Hearing this, Mei Terumi sat up with a jolt, her eyes wide with astonishment.

“Wait a minute, are you saying that, just like before, you’ve developed a secret technique that allows someone to obtain Boil Release through training?”

“That’s right.”

Ishihara’s calm response left Mei Terumi in stunned silence. If she hadn’t fully grasped Orochimaru’s despair earlier, she now understood it completely. This was the bloodline limit her family had proudly passed down for hundreds of years! Over those centuries, many elders had attempted to study the two bloodline limits but had made almost no progress. Yet this man had unlocked its secrets in a short amount of time and even created a training method for it!

The difference in their abilities was beyond human comprehension!

A sudden shiver ran through Mei Terumi, and an inexplicable sense of fear gripped her.

“Are you really human?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Orochimaru, hearing this, nodded in agreement, while Ishihara frowned slightly. “Are you insulting me?”

Ha! How could this infuriating guy not be human? Mei Terumi's mouth twitched as she decided to drop the subject.

“Here you go,” Ishihara said, handing the completed scroll to Mei Terumi.

“The Boil Release Training Method? This technique could spark the Fourth Great Ninja War, and you’re just giving it to me?”

Mei Terumi stared at him in disbelief.

“The Boil Release Training Method has its prerequisites,” Ishihara explained calmly. “You’re the most suitable person, and besides, I told you this research would benefit you.”

Mei Terumi took a deep breath, eyeing Ishihara intently before making a bold request. “When can we start researching Lava Release?”

Orochimaru's face showed a mocking smile, as if he had forgotten all the effort he had put into supporting Ishihara’s research.

Ishihara was momentarily speechless. “I need to rest too, you know.”

At his words, Mei Terumi quickly ran over and began massaging his shoulders. “The pressure is just right. Keep going,” Ishihara said, closing his eyes and enjoying the treatment. Mei Terumi didn’t mind at all and became even more enthusiastic.

“I’m stepping out for a while,” Orochimaru said, unable to watch any longer. Mei Terumi muttered something under her breath as he left.

Not long after, the two resumed the research, but this time, Mei Terumi focused on gathering Lava Release chakra.

[You have observed the formation process of Lava Release chakra and thoroughly understood its operation. You have created the Lava Release Training Method.]

Ishihara reviewed the training method and, as expected, found that the focus was once again on the nature transformation of Water and Earth Release chakra. The key was the fusion ratio and timing, similar to Boil Release.

“Just as I thought,” Ishihara smiled, realizing that understanding other bloodline limits would be much simpler now.

Suddenly, Mei Terumi’s smiling face appeared close to his. “Ishihara, how about taking a break?” she suggested with a grin.

Ishihara chuckled. “Don’t worry, since I’ve promised, I’ll give it to you.”

In a good mood, he turned around, picked up the scroll, and began writing again. Mei Terumi eagerly watched him, and when he was finished, she looked over the content.

“Boil Release Training Method, Lava Release Training Method—these two secret techniques…” Mei Terumi stared at Ishihara, realizing that this man would completely change the landscape of the ninja world.

While some were trying to eliminate bloodline limit ninjas to neutralize the threat of their overwhelming power, they were oblivious to the fact that the ninja world now had a way for ordinary people to gain bloodline limits. It was like a scene from a surreal drama.

Mei Terumi suddenly asked, “Ishihara, do you think there’s a way to make bloodline limits even more powerful?”

Ishihara and Orochimaru exchanged surprised glances. They had always focused on researching bloodline limits, but they had never considered this question before. Mei Terumi’s idea piqued their interest.

Orochimaru licked his lips excitedly. “Interesting. Making bloodline limits even more advanced? I don’t know how, but it’s definitely possible!”

Seeing Mei Terumi’s shocked expression, Orochimaru added in a serious tone, “Don’t forget, beyond bloodline limits, there’s the Kekkai Tōta (Bloodline Selection)!”

Mei Terumi shook her head. “I’m not talking about that. I mean making the bloodline limit itself more powerful or granting it special abilities.”

Then she looked at Ishihara, sensing that he might be the only one capable of finding a solution. After a moment of thought, Ishihara nodded.

Mei Terumi’s pupils constricted as she quickly asked, “What’s the method?”

“Elementalize the body—turn a person into the bloodline limit itself,” Ishihara replied, squinting slightly.

“That’s impossible, isn’t it?” Mei Terumi asked uncertainly.

“No,” Orochimaru replied, his excitement palpable. “There’s already an example of that in the ninja world, isn’t there?”

Mei Terumi's eyes widened in realization, her heart pounding as she blurted out, “The Hozuki clan!”
