Naruto: Creating Immortal Techniques at Six, Shocking Uncle Snake

Chapter 45: Obito’s Wood Release! Developing Space-Time Secret Techniques?

Chapter 45: Obito's Wood Release! Developing Space-Time Secret Techniques?

“I actually hit him?” Ishihara was a bit surprised.

Obito’s Kamui, while slow in absorbing people, was incredibly fast when phasing. In his battle with the Fourth Hokage, he was severely injured when this flaw was exploited. After the battle, he surely must have trained to mitigate this weakness.

By the time Obito fought as Tobi against Naruto and others, his phasing speed had increased significantly. By the Fourth Great Ninja War, it was nearly instantaneous, allowing him to easily dodge Kakashi’s lightning-infused kunai. This is why Ishihara chose to use the fastest attack possible to injure Obito, instead of simply grabbing his arm.

However, after tearing through Obito’s arm, Ishihara’s attack still passed through Obito’s body, leaving him with some regret.

“Damn it!” Obito quickly retreated, his heart pounding with lingering fear. If he hadn’t been cautious and only phased his arm out of this dimension, he might have been severely injured.

"How did he know about my technique? Was it his sheer speed?" Obito felt uneasy.

Ishihara didn’t pursue him. He knew that Obito was still in his intangible state, and said calmly, “I didn’t expect the one controlling Yagura to be an Uchiha, and with the Mangekyō Sharingan no less. If I’m not mistaken, that ability you used to evade my attack just now must be your ocular power.”

Ishihara didn’t want Obito to know that he was aware of his identity. In a battle, intelligence gaps can be crucial. Moreover, he still wanted to study Kakashi’s Kamui, so he couldn't let Obito become suspicious.

Obito felt relieved. It seemed his identity hadn’t been compromised. However, he still couldn’t shake off the uneasy feeling from nearly hitting Ishihara earlier.

“How did he sense my attack from behind? Did he predict it, or did he somehow notice it just before it happened?”

“There's no way he has Byakugan, unless... No, it can't be!”

Obito’s heart skipped a beat as he looked at Ishihara in disbelief. He remembered that Kirigakure possessed a Byakugan from the Hyūga main branch. The owner of that Byakugan, Ao, had disappeared along with Mei Terumī.

Could it be...

“You have Byakugan?”

Ishihara raised an eyebrow. Nice, he’s filling in the gaps for me, he thought. “That’s right.”

Obito gasped. He had already heard rumors that Ishihara had acquired a Sharingan through some secret technique. But hearing it directly from Ishihara was a shock. This wasn’t just some chakra fusion Bloodline Limit; this was an inherited dōjutsu!

“How is this even possible?” Obito was overwhelmed with disbelief. But the truth was undeniable, no matter how much he didn’t want to believe it.

“This is bad,” Obito thought grimly. Originally, his confidence in defeating Ishihara was due to Kamui. However, Ishihara’s incredible speed was already a problem, and now with the enhanced vision of the Byakugan, Obito couldn’t rely on sneak attacks. Kamui’s effectiveness was greatly reduced.

His plan had fallen apart.

“If I can’t manage this, I’ll have to rely on Nagato,” Obito thought, taking a deep breath. The more powerful Ishihara appeared, the more determined Obito was to eliminate him.

Obito retreated further, trying to buy time for his intangibility to reset. But to his surprise, Ishihara remained still, quietly observing him.

“Is he trying to study Kamui? Damn it!” Obito cursed inwardly, clenching his teeth in anger. The technique he had always prided himself on was now being dissected by someone else.

“Wood Release: Great Spear Tree!” Obito’s hands solidified as he summoned a vast amount of wood from the ground. Thorny saplings rapidly grew and twisted into massive trees, reaching towards the sky.

The thorny forest surrounded Ishihara, with the trees spiraling and intertwining, closing in on him from all sides. The vines, sharp as steel cables, converged from every direction like a barrage of arrows.

The piercing sound of the vines tearing through the air made Ishihara’s eyes narrow. This level of Wood Release was something even his Lightning Instantaneous Body wouldn’t allow him to easily escape from.

As he was about to act, a shout rang out from the distance.

“Tailed Beast Bomb!”

The charging Three-Tails launched a Tailed Beast Bomb, which descended toward Ishihara’s location like a falling meteor.

At this moment, Ishihara was trapped within a massive wooden structure, akin to being stuck in a giant chimney, with a Tailed Beast Bomb hurtling down from above.

“What will you do now?” Obito watched intently, his expression serious.

He wasn’t capable of powerful single-target attacks, and Kamui was restricted by Ishihara’s speed and Byakugan. His only choice was to limit Ishihara’s movement and rely on a close-range Tailed Beast Bomb blast.

“I underestimated Obito. He’s more formidable than I thought; no wonder he became such a major antagonist,” Ishihara mused, feeling a bit of pressure.

But just as he was about to forcibly break through, his expression suddenly changed, showing a hint of joy. His shadow clone had succeeded!

Rewinding time slightly, Ishihara’s shadow clone had taken Orochimaru and the others away.

“Sensei, I need to learn the Summoning Technique!” Ishihara said as they ran.

“The Summoning Technique? Alright!” Orochimaru was surprised, glancing at Ishihara before nodding. He bit his finger, made some hand signs, and summoned a contract scroll, which he handed over.

“This is the scroll for the contract I made with Ryūchi Cave. Just write your name on it.”

“Thank you, Sensei.” Ishihara smiled. He knew that Orochimaru wouldn’t refuse, but he hadn’t expected him to be so straightforward.

Time was of the essence. Without hesitation, Ishihara opened the scroll and wrote his name on it.

“Next, please guide me through the Summoning Technique, Sensei!”

After Ishihara wrote his name, Orochimaru looked at him deeply, already understanding what Ishihara intended to do. Although it was shocking and seemed impossible, considering Ishihara’s talent, Orochimaru chose to remain silent. He quickly taught Ishihara the Summoning Technique.
