Noob Player

Chapter 120: Setting

"More features, huh?" Shen rubbed his chin. "Will they open a Market?" Because Sky tried to make the game so real, the game did not have a market where players could sell an item server-widely. Players had to meet face-to-face to trade, or go to the shop opened by NPC, or go to the shop opened by players.

"But it's kinda weird to open another server that is dedicated to trade items. Nah, who cares. It's Sky's problem, not me. But if they open a Market, that may be good news for ZhenZhen, Doctor Lu, and Brother Jiang. Not only could they buy the materials and tools they wanted, but they could also sell their finished product to earn money.

Shen shook his head and entered the PVP Arena. While people called it PVP Server, Sky named it PVP Arena.

[Welcome to Arena~]

The robotic announcement rang in his head as his field view changed. His first impression of the Arena was noisy as his ears buzzed with the noise of people talking. He looked around and realized that he spawned around other players.

It was an open area with the paved ground. He looked up and saw a big stadium. Yes, there was a big football stadium in front of him. At least, that was what it looked like to him. "Is there any guide or tutorial?"

Shen looked around and realized that most players logged in with their friends as they gathered in a group. He looked around and found out there were twenty stadiums, and there's a number above the stadium, one to twenty. He was about to message Yue only to realize he had a message in his inbox.

The message was from Yue, fifteen minutes ago. "Oh, my! I made a girl waiting for me." He scratched his hair and opened the message.

"Come to No 17 Arena. I have opened a room for us." Shen blinked his eyes and read the message repeatedly. He scratched his forehead. "The wording is kinda weird…." He did not finish his words because it was his head that was dirty.

"No 17 Arena…." Shen turned around and searched the stadium with the number 17. It did not take long for him to find it. He then headed toward the arena. "So, where should I find this room she talked about?"

He observed the other players around the arena and found out most were walking toward the arena entrance before they disappeared. Shen then headed toward the entrance.

Early, no one paid attention to him, but people started to look at him as he headed to the entrance. He knew they were looking at his missing arm, and the players around him began to whisper while secretly pointing at his missing arm.

'Shit, at this rate, I will become famous again on the forum. The one-armed player entered the PVP Arena.' Shen could imagine what kind of thread would appear on the forum.

Shen picked up his pace and arrived at the arena entrance. As he stepped into the entrance, a menu interface appeared in front of his eyes. He finally understood the meaning behind the room. There were 500 rooms in total in this arena, room meaning an individual arena.

Most of the rooms were set private, with a maximum of ten players per room. He was about to search the room one by one until he noticed a red exclamation mark on the top right corner. He tapped the exclamation mark.

[Yue invited you to room No.97! (Accept) (Decline)]

Shen was uncomfortable being stared at by many people, so he immediately accepted the invite. His vision blurred for a moment before he appeared in the middle of an arena. He looked around and found Yue was sitting at the edge of the arena. She swayed her legs at the edge of the arena as she looked down, not noticing his arrival.

Shen approached her slowly and was about to apologize, but he accidentally looked at what she was doing. Yue was watching a video, and he recognized the video, and it was his video with almost 18 million views. He scratched his hair, did not know what to do. It was awkward because she watched his video.

After a while, he coughed lightly. "Ahem. You should tell me if you want to watch the video. I can send you the video, so you don't have to pay."

Yue was startled and immediately stood up. Because he was standing too close to her, their faces were so close when she stood up, and their noses were a few centimeters away from touching each other.

Shen was startled as he instantly backed up from her. At the same time, he reminded himself of the status difference between them. 'We are just sparring partners, not more than that. Just a friend.' He said that a few times in his head before he calmed down.

Meanwhile, Yue just smiled as if nothing had happened between them. There was indeed nothing that happened. Why would he get flustered? Shen smiled embarrassedly while rubbing his nose; his cheeks slightly turned red. "I am sorry, I am late."

"Mnnn, It's okay, and I should ask you instead of deciding our meeting time by myself." Yue shook her head. Looking at Shen, who was standing awkwardly like that, Yue continued the conversation. "Before we start the friendly battle, let me explain how the arena works unless you already know."

Shen nodded his head. "We can start with that first."

Yue smiled and started explaining about the arena. "First, we can change the setting here." She showed him an interface about the setting. She showed him the friendly battle, but there was the Death and Life Battle next to the friendly battle.

"In the friendly battle, we will lose if our HP reaches ten percent or lower, but don't worry about using your skill even though my HP is low because I can't die in a friendly battle. We can also set our armor and weapon so we can have the same weapon, or we can use our original one."

"Also, this is an interesting feature in the arena. We can modify our stats, and you can lower your stats, but you can't surpass your original stats…." She had learned a lot about the PVP Arena, while Shen came without knowing anything. This was him. He would instead learn directly by trying the arena.

"So, should I lower my stats to match with yours? It would be unfair since I am a few levels higher than you." If that were the case, Shen was afraid Yue would gain nothing but be bullied by him from the sparring.

"It's okay. We have to fight with our actual stats in the tournament, so it will be better to get used to fighting a high-level player like you. The setting I recommend is about the weapon and our armor. So far, the best equipment has 32 armor, and the best weapon has 137 bonus Damage. With our limited item, I recommend modifying our armor to 25 to 30, and we use a weapon with 62 Damage. We need to get used to fighting a high-armored player and use Wrath Club as our preference." Yue voiced her thoughts about their friendly battle.

"Let's do that." Shen nodded his head.
