Aang sweat drops and scratches his head with an awkward smile on his face, “Well then.. Hahaha. I guess that plan is out the window.”

Raava sighs and says, “I know you love and admire Nuwa, but you should know that as an Avatar, you share my power. The more you follow Order and Light spiritually, the more power I can offer you. If you follow Nuwa’s way of doing things, then your Light will be tainted by Darkness and you will be weakening your connection to me.”

Zuko goes to another area of the training room to give Aang some private space, since he is speaking aloud to Raava who is speaking in his mind.

Aang puts on a serious face and replies, “You’re right. Lately, I feel that if I don’t find my own path soon, I’ll always be in Nuwa’s shadow. I might even be happy to be there, but I know that’s not my dream.”

Raava explains, “That’s the Spirit Realm giving you a warning, Aang. The power you wield through me comes with the responsibility to maintain balance in the Mortal Realm. I’ve been paying attention Aang, I know you’re slacking.”

Aang’s face goes red and he chuckles, “Heh.. sorry.”

With a soothing tone of voice, Raava continues, “I know you’re still young Aang, and young adults like you aren’t expected to save the world, but the fateful battle is approaching. This is your only chance to win back the Air Nation’s honor.”

Sharpening his gaze, Aang takes a deep breath. Then he sighs and says aloud his innermost thoughts, “But Uncle Iroh, Azula, and Nuwa are so much stronger than me. What can I do that they can’t?”

“I dare you to imply that you’re a weakling one more time in front of your future firstborn!” says Katara seething with rage from behind him. She seems to have entered to check on him after he finished watching the spar between Azula and Iroh.

“Katara..”

“You are the Avatar! The beacon of hope that the entire world has been waiting 100 years for! Even if you’re late as hell, you have to go out there and meet their expectations so that they know their long wait paid off! You’re not allowed to be an afterthought either! You have to be the centerpiece!”
Aang tears up, “But Katara, there’s so much pressure that it’s suffocating..”

Katara softens and sighs, “Do you remember when we met? You were always pretending to be cheerful to hide your pain. At that time, you had a desperation within you. You were looking for revenge for your Nation just like me. We were the same.”

Aang opens his mouth as tears pool in his eyes, “I -”

Katara interjects, “I know. You still have the desperation inside you, but you have convinced yourself that you are inadequate. Do you think that’s the right attitude for the future founder of the new Air Nation? Taking a backseat on your duties when things get hard? Giving up on improvement when someone stronger takes up the task?”

“You have the potential to be way stronger than Nuwa is now! Avatar Kyoshi split apart an entire landmass from the Earth Continent to form Kyoshi Island while in the Avatar State. For an Avatar, all it takes to get power is to work hard and have the right mentality. I have to work much harder than you to improve my waterbending! So suck it up, stop being a baby, and show me why I fell in love with you!”

Aang’s tears flow freely as he lowers his head in shame at the scolding he’s getting from Katara. After she speaks her last line, he raises his tear-stricken face with resolution. “I’ll do it. I’ll be the Avatar this World needs, but I’m not doing it for myself, you, the baby, or the war-torn people who’ve been waiting. I’m sorry, Katara, but I don’t carry the will for revenge in that way. I’m doing it for the departed air nomads that I’ve let down by running away. I won’t run away anymore!”

Katara steps forward to hug Aang tightly, “Hmm, that’s good. That’s fine, Aang. I’m sorry for yelling at you. All I wanted was for you to stop running away! I love you.”

“Thanks Katara, for understanding. I love you too.”

Wrapping his arms around Katara and relishing in her comforting embrace, Aang understands that only doing his best, which he decided after Combustion Man died, was too reactive of a mentality. That resolution was more like doing his best to cope with whatever life throws at him, instead of doing his best to shoot towards a goal.

Regardless, he’s never been a particularly ambitious person, so even if he does his best, he still wouldn’t come close to the old monsters in time. He has to train even harder than his best. He needs someone to help him push his limits constantly and sink his determination into that feeling. Aang decides to follow Iroh on his workout from hell and learn from him.

Azula is briefly stunned, “It will have to be a very large vehicle to fit hundreds of us.”

Nuwa nods with a “Yep” but doesn’t elaborate further. She’s too excited to make her first dao string.

She says, “Let me try something.”

E-Nuwa pauses her automated analysis of the ideal formation diagram and focuses inwardly on her bisected Dao Core of Sex. Due to her own slow comprehension of true love, there’s a small bridge between the two hemispheres of the Dao Core. To simplify the visualization, she considered the Dao Seed as 50 cm in diameter and the Dao Core as 3 meters in diameter. 

She pulls out a single daon of sex from her Dao Core with her intent and infuses LEE into it. Nuwa’s intent is a function of her Dao Seed. She can control daons of sex almost like telekinesis ever since she was small. The daon ripple of sex looks like an intangible, invisible particle that ripples occasionally. She can’t see it, but she can feel it with her intent.

For any LEE purchases, she has to go to the [System] in order to access the [Shop], but bundling the life essence energy around the daon of sex seems to be the truest usage of LEE so she can do it without any need to go through the [System].

She continues the infusion with caution and spends approximately 2 minutes filling up a daon ripple with 1m units of LEE. By the time the daon is filled up, it goes from the size of a dust particle to the size of the Dao Core. It’s still invisible, but she can feel the volume of the daon and density of its energy with her intent. It’s quite impressive.

There’s a subtle vibration once it hits 1m LEE and the daon of sex becomes agitated. Her intent almost loses its grip on it. E-Nuwa holds it down with her intent and slams her intent on both sides of the supercharged daon. It’s a tough cookie, but it flattens somewhat.

E-Nuwa continues pounding it on both sides until it’s a flat sheet like a distorted pancake, then she uses one portion of her intent as a surface and the other to roll it up into a noodle. The supercharged daon is vigorously vibrating and attempting to escape during this process. E-Nuwa has to suppress the daon’s struggles with her intent.

She then pounds it flat once again and rolls it back into a noodle that is continuously elongating. After a dozen rounds of pounding and rolling, the noodle is so thin that it’s only 1mm in diameter and 10m long. The daons struggles grow progressively weaker as it approaches the stable form of a string.

The measurements are only to give E-Nuwa a 3d perspective of the situation, they don’t correspond to anything in reality because Dao Cores exist within the soul. All souls are formed of a special type of energy that supersedes other types of energies, besides that of True Dao.

This is what E-Nuwa intuits from her familiarity with soul force. E-Nuwa even suspects that her soul is located in a higher dimension and that when she looks “inward” she’s visualizing her own soul’s location inside that dimension. It hurts her head just thinking about it.

Soon the daon is pounded into an infinitesimally thin string that’s still 10m long. The moment that happens, the string thrums with the sound of the Dao. Upon sensing the sound, Nuwa feels unprecedented closeness to it and feels injustice that it’s helplessly trapped inside her own soul like this. As the thrum of the Dao grows in volume, she feels as if the dao string is the most precious thing to her, more precious than Azula, more precious than her life!

E-Nuwa regains momentary control and shouts “STOP” before flinging the string at the Dao Core. The dao string vibrates violently as if angry that a weakling overcame its influence, but the moment it touches the Dao Core of Sex, it is abruptly paralyzed and returns to being a harmless object. Nuwa shudders as she stares at the inert string in shock and attempts to process what happened.

‘What the fuck! That thing had its own will! I was almost mind controlled by it! How scary..’

“Hey [System], did you know that would happen? Why didn’t you warn me?”
