One Piece: Overlord Buggy

Deal For The Shipyard Part 3

It had been a week since Branson had come back, it looked like he was taking that vacation idea to heart, unlike being okay with anything else. Although it was a little weird that he completely disappeared, not even a sighting of him anywhere.

But aside from that, Rem and Rosalina had wandered around town a couple times, mostly because Rem was still experiencing the outside world, and it was all new to her, including shopping. Taki had gone along one time, only really to see what there was with Rem and Rosalina, and she didn't come back with anything in hand, so I just assumed she didn't find anything.

On the other hand though, it brought about something I didn't think I would have to deal with: a pile of bags all on the deck. It was taller than me. It was apparently what Rem had decided she wanted. When I asked about why so much, Rosalina spoke in Rem's stead: "I can spoil my younger sister, so do not complain about space."

With that, Rem smiled at me and said "Captain, no, Buggy, this may be the last time for a while I see Ro-Ro! I wanna spend as much time as I can with her!"

And that was the end of the conversation, as Rem had ran and grabbed onto Rosalina, holding on as if it was life or death. I did attempt to pull her off just once, and she was completely latched on, I think the only possible way to get her off was to hurt her, and she didn't need that. And as I couldn't hurt her, I found that Rem was really happy with Rosalina, just doing things with her.

Some other time during the week, Rosalina had established herself as the one in charge of the Shipyard in Branson's absence. Somehow, she had time to do paperwork that EVEN BRANSON took several weeks to do, and still hang out with Rem. It boggled my mind, because I had never even stayed up more than a day or two to do something. But, of course, I remembered a little theory I had a while back.

'Does Rosalina not sleep? Didn't I think that a while ago because she sailed through the night? I remember thinking it had to do with the devil fruit, so is that it? I don't think there's any other way for it to happen.'

And I did ask, only to learn that my theory was indeed correct.

"Yes, Buggy. The Logia Variant of the Soul-Soul Fruit does indeed allow for the souls to be manipulated, hence why I am able to stay awake for so long, it may even be possible for me to never sleep again, but I much prefer to, as it is a comfort thing, something to remind me that I am a separate entity, one who has their own thoughts, and is their own person, to remember that I was once human too. It kind of grounds me, even in this wonderfully awful world."

".....I didn't ask that, but okay. At least I know you don't have to sleep."

Something else that happened was people apparently called me 'The Joker'. I had forgotten that I was called that, and it was just easier to let it slide more than anything. Thanks to that reminder, I decided that I would hopefully be able to use it as my bounty name in the future.

'Maybe the Marines from here will remember me, and then give a name to the Marines. I don't need to be known as a clown, I want to be known as Buggy D. Clown, the Joker. Buggy would be fine, but I need something fancy, otherwise, I can't believe that I believe in this, otherwise Captain Roger may actually smite me. Please don't if you can hear me, I'm trying.' And I just wandered through the town for a while afterwards.

After that week, Rosalina began to worry a little, and so did all of the other workers, as Branson had not just disappeared without a word like that before, according to them.

I was starting to get bored of being bored, because all I had done for a week was sit around, with absolutely nothing to do. That may have been a dream a while ago, but now, it had been done. Even boredom was boring.

'What do I do here? I have the starting point of my journey, I just don't have the confirmation of a secret source of money for the journey! I have a bunch of money regardless, I have the start to "The One", I even have a ship AND a crew!'

I was laying on a couch in what was currently Rosalina's office, since Branson up and left. I was just starting at the ceiling, with Rem and Taki on an opposing couch, and Djane in a chair he dragged over from in front of the desk Rosalina was working at.

'It's not that big a crew, but I have a.. doctor.. and..... What does Taki do? Aside from train?'

A thought instantly occurred.

'I NEED MORE THAT THEM! I DONT HAVE A CHEF, LET ALONE A NAVIGATOR! I MEAN, UNTIL I FIND A NAVIGATOR, I SHOULD BE FINE, BUT I NEED AN ACTUAL NAVIGATOR! AND A CHEF! I DONT HAVE ANYONE TO DO THAT! I DIDN'T REALIZE UNTIL NOW, BUT I'VE ONLY BEEN EATING MEAT AND SOME FRUIT! I NEED LIKE A FIVE STAR CHEF!'

Without realizing it, I was very much going off of how Luffy would go through with finding his own crew.

I sat up pretty quickly, startling everyone in the room, but I continued by standing up just as abruptly, and then started towards the door.

"Bugs.. where you going?"

I turned around to find that everyone was watching me, and Taki had asked.

"Me? I had to think really hard about this, only realizing like a minute ago. I am going to go find us someone who can cook really well to bring with us."

"......... Do we need more that the three of us...?"

I smirked, and threw my arms wide.

"OF COURSE! I DON'T WANT TO DO EVERYTHING, AND IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER TO TRAVEL WITH MORE THAN THREE TOTAL CREW-"

I was cut off by the receptionist kid.

"Lady Rosalina, Branson showed up, and we don't know what to do."

"......-members."

I dropped my head, and then turned, realizing what he said.

"Branson's here... again? Why do you need to ask? It's his business, he shouldn't need to be pushed away."

"......"

He completely ignored me, just acknowledging my presence.

'WHY IS EVERYONE JUST IGNORING ME NOW? WHAT DID I DO?'

"... As Buggy has said. Please, he has a right to come in to the established business that he owns."

Rosalina had looked up to answer, only looking back at the papers in front of her afterwards to continue.

The receptionist then bowed, and backed up, closing the door, and the room became silent.

I started to then walk back to the couch, and Rem spoke "Are you not going to go and find some crew members? Didn't you want more than the three of us?"

She tilted her head, and Taki also asked after her.

"I suddenly had a feeling of no motivation to go and find people to join. That kid interrupted at the best part, and I don't want to go out anymore."

I fell onto the couch, and then continued.

"I do want more crew members, but I can put that off until we're in the Grand Line.  We should be able to find the best of the best there."

I then closed my eyes before a loud sound came from the door that had just been closed by the receptionist.

'Can I not just do one thing right now without interruption?'

I turned my head to find Branson, in a surprisingly flowery button up shirt, some shorts, and some sandals, with a pair of sunglasses over his eyes, and a full glass with a straw and a little umbrella sticking out of it.

"Yo. Rosa? How's MY business goin?"

He looked around at everyone, and then went to sit in the chair that was still left facing the desk.

Rosalina looked up from the papers in front of her for a quick second, and then looked back down.

"It is going well. I am surprised you were able to do this all within only a few weeks, I have only been doing this for one and it is more work than normal circumstances would call for."

He nodded several times before going and taking a sip of his drink, using the straw.

"It seems as though you took the suggestion for a vacation. Is it going well?"

"Hmm. Yep! I've never felt better! Takin more than a couple ah hours every couple weeks 'as been a better choice than 'ow much work I put in!"

He laughed a little, but then he became a little serious.

"You still wantin to go through with that plan Buggy has?"

"Of course. I only see it as a business investment. We all become rich off of it no matter how it happens."

I walked up, and said "Did you guys forget I'm here?"

Neither of them answered, but Branson grunted in response.

"Well, okay then. Continue."

"'We'? When was it 'We?'"

Rosalina looked up and straight at Branson.

"It was 'We' since before even Buggy here had become a partner of the company. It has even been 'We' since he JOINED the company as a co-owner."

He sighed, taking another sip of his drink.

"Branson, this investment into the company is possibly able to bring us to the top of the world, not only through business, but also wealth. Do not underestimate just how far some simple mad grandiose ideas may get us."
