...

“Donquixote Doflamingo, I hereby officially place you under arrest for the murder of a World Noble and the usurpation of Dressrosa!” Ian declared, his voice echoing from above.

Despite the theatrical delivery, his pale face and green eyes held no hint of jest.

A comprehensive plan had formed in his mind. Both Doflamingo and Kaido, despite their villainous reputations, were unwittingly playing into his hands.

The obese World Noble, the target of his attack, lay charred and blackened, resembling a roasted chicken, likely beyond saving.

Logically, the death of a Celestial Dragon should have sent shockwaves throughout the world. However, Doflamingo’s former status as a World Noble himself framed this incident as an internal conflict, a common occurrence within the Holy Land, hardly worthy of global alarm.

The Five Elders would likely choose Doflamingo over the foolish, deceased noble. They would even welcome the rise of a formidable pirate like Ian, a figure capable of shaking the world.

Fire Fist Ace, publicly known as Garp's adopted grandson, was also a force to be reckoned with, unafraid to challenge the authority of the Celestial Dragons.

And his hidden identity, as the son of Gol D. Roger, meant he wouldn't hesitate to challenge a Celestial Dragon.

Ace hadn’t directly attacked the noble; he had been focused on Doflamingo. Yet, the Celestial Dragons had still contacted the Five Elders. Ian had allowed this, knowing that by the time they received the news, Doflamingo would likely be dealt with.

“Black Wing Devil, since when did you become such an eager lapdog for the Marines and the World Government? So desperate to arrest me and earn some merit?” Doflamingo sneered, his face contorted in a grimace.

The sight of the man who had killed his family ignited a burning rage within him, threatening to break through his carefully constructed facade of composure.

“I want to bring you to justice. And we haven’t even discussed your collusion with Crocodile or Diamante's crimes. He deserved what he got.”

“Don’t give me that ‘he was family’ crap. You might have suffered, but you've inflicted far greater suffering on countless others. How many families have been torn apart by your actions?” Ian interrupted Doflamingo’s attempt to retort, silencing him with a barrage of accusations.

They stood facing each other, the Devil and the flamingo, their contrasting appearances symbolizing their opposing ideologies.

The atmosphere crackled with tension as countless eyes watched them intently. On one side, Donquixote Doflamingo, a seasoned Warlord of the Sea, and on the other, Ian, a rising star who had swiftly defeated two Warlords and fought the world’s strongest swordsman to a draw.

While Doflamingo was not quite on par with Mihawk, the gap wasn't insurmountable. He, along with Bartholomew Kuma, ranked among the stronger Warlords, while Boa Hancock, Jinbe, and Crocodile occupied the middle tier. Only Gecko Moria and the newly appointed Buggy the Clown were considered significantly weaker.

Ian had only fought Mihawk to a standstill, a feat Doflamingo could likely replicate. Even Mihawk would need to exert considerable effort to defeat him, especially with his Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit abilities. Victory for either side in this battle was far from certain.

Ace's crew, having confirmed their captain's safety, watched the confrontation with anticipation. Ace had explained his connection to Ian, attributing it to his grandfather, Garp, which came as no surprise. While Doflamingo seemed to have the upper hand, the gap wasn't insurmountable. After all, Ian was still a newcomer.

And hadn’t Doflamingo himself acknowledged Ian’s potential, suggesting that given time, he might even surpass him?

They hadn’t chosen the wrong captain. He had the potential to become a king, and their status would rise with his.

Realizing there was nothing more to be said, Ian charged forward, his sword raised, and Doflamingo responded in kind, their attacks clashing in a blinding flash of energy.

“Getsuga… Tensho!”

“Overheat Whip!”

Hum! Infused with Busoshoku Haki, his blade now pitch black, Ian unleashed his attack.

Two waves of sword energy collided, carving a deep chasm into the stone ground, as if a plow had torn through the earth. Both combatants staggered back from the impact.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The earth trembled as their battle raged on. Doflamingo, utilizing his String-String Fruit abilities, weaved through the air, while Ian countered with Soru and Sonido, their movements a blur of speed and power.

Doflamingo’s Paramecia-type Devil Fruit was adept at both close and long-range combat, but Ian’s swordsmanship, honed through battles with Mihawk and Rayleigh, easily deflected his attacks.

His mastery of swordsmanship, coupled with his Devil Fruit’s cutting ability, allowed him to sever even Doflamingo’s reinforced strings. However, he noticed that Doflamingo also possessed a surprising level of skill with his strings, perhaps due to their inherent sharpness or his own hidden swordsmanship talent. Neither combatant could gain a decisive advantage.

“You’re not bad. It seems the rumors of your draw with Mihawk hold some truth.”

“Show me your true power. This isn’t enough to defeat me, let alone arrest me.”

Doflamingo emerged from the rubble, his voice laced with challenge.

“Is that so?” Ian’s gaze sharpened, his regal demeanor unwavering as he observed Doflamingo, who hovered above, suspended by his strings. They had been testing each other, neither revealing their full strength.

Swordsmanship alone wouldn’t be enough to defeat him.

But… he had more than just swordsmanship at his disposal.

“If that’s what you want, then the warm-up is over.” Ian stood amidst the ruins, his eyes gleaming with a strange light as he raised his sword horizontally. White lightning crackled around the blade, its intensity growing with each passing moment.

The blade vibrated violently, as if a thousand birds were trapped within, struggling to break free. He had channeled his lightning into the sword, mimicking the various chakra-based sword techniques of the ninja world, incorporating the destructive power of fire, the swiftness of wind, the weight of earth, and the paralyzing effect of ice.

Lightning was a versatile element, capable of enhancing any attack.

He already possessed the powers of explosion, cutting, gravity manipulation, and sand control.

His current form resembled a fusion of Sasuke’s Chidori Sharp Spear and Killer Bee’s Super Vibrato Lightning Release Swords.

“Kaido’s Azure Dragon form commands lightning, fire, and wind, Sengoku’s Buddha form grants immense strength, Marco’s Phoenix form offers regeneration, and Mythical Zoan fruits possess unique abilities beyond the enhanced physical capabilities of normal Zoan types, though they lack the ability to transform into elements. Is that lightning an additional ability of your demonic form? fascinating.”

“Don’t disappoint me.” Doflamingo observed Ian, his eyebrow raised in anticipation.

“Chidori Sharp Spear, Lightning Release Sword!”

With a resounding boom, Ian’s blade extended to several meters in length, transforming into a massive greatsword wreathed in crackling lightning, which he brought down upon Doflamingo with earth-shattering force.

While he had absorbed the Spring-Spring Fruit, enhancing his fusion rate rather than developing its powers, he could still replicate Gin Ichimaru’s Shinsō and Sasuke’s Chidori Sharp Spear, utilizing his lightning abilities.

“Hmm?” Doflamingo’s eyes narrowed as his Observation Haki registered the immense power surging from Ian’s blade, the raw, untamed energy of lightning.

Ian stood below, looking up at Doflamingo, yet it felt as if their positions were reversed, as if he were looking down upon Doflamingo from a position of absolute dominance.

normal swords didn’t possess the ability to extend and change shape. This was undoubtedly a Devil Fruit power, similar to how Admiral Kizaru could create light swords and Aokiji could forge ice blades.

The onlookers, however, were witnessing something beyond their comprehension, their gasps of astonishment echoing through the ruined city.

“Isn’t the Black Wing Devil a Mythical Zoan user? How can he control lightning?”

Their understanding of Devil Fruits was being challenged with each passing moment.

Doflamingo, his eyes now filled with caution, flipped backward in mid-air, his hands outstretched towards the incoming lightning blade. Swish! Swish!

Ten strings, reinforced with Busoshoku Haki, their strength surpassing even steel, and possessing incredible elasticity, shot towards the blade. But… it was futile.

The combined forces of cutting, explosion, and gravity manipulation tore through the strings like paper, severing them effortlessly. A shiver ran down Doflamingo’s spine as he retreated with renewed caution.

Crackle! Lightning crackled and surged.

Doflamingo dodged desperately, but a stray bolt struck him, leaving a charred, bleeding gash across his face.

“Damn it!” Doflamingo cursed. Lightning, like fire, was a natural counter to his String-String Fruit. While his strings could withstand Ian’s sword strikes, they were vulnerable to the elemental forces of lightning and fire.

Within moments, several more burns marred his body, his pink feather coat smoldering and sparking.

He resembled a plucked flamingo, ready for the slaughter.

“I must admit, you’ve mastered your Mythical Zoan fruit quite effectively.”

Doflamingo paused, his sinister grin returning, masking a hint of pride.

“But if you think this is enough to defeat me, you’re sorely mistaken. There are those in this world who wield their powers far more effectively than you can imagine.”

As he finished speaking, a strange energy emanated from his body. The ruined buildings of Dressrosa began to contort and twist, transforming into countless white strings, which surged towards Ian like a tidal wave.

“Ever White String!”

Thousands of strings, densely packed and interwoven, advanced with overwhelming force, their movement visible even to those on the opposite side of the island.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The collapsing buildings, under Doflamingo’s influence, dissolved into an endless sea of white strings, whipping through the air like monstrous tentacles, lashing out at Ian’s lightning blade.

While a few strings were easily severed, thousands combined formed an impenetrable barrier, an unstoppable force.

From afar, the city seemed to be consumed by writhing white serpents, devouring everything in their path, like a monstrous earthworm churning through the soil.

“What… what is that…?”

The onlookers stared in disbelief, their faces pale with terror. Buildings transforming into strings? It was a power beyond their comprehension.

“Is this… the power of Donquixote Doflamingo? It’s…”

Sweat trickled down their foreheads as they watched the white serpents wreak havoc, feeling like insignificant ants in the face of such overwhelming power.

Their dreams of challenging the New World crumbled before their eyes, replaced by fear and doubt. Could they even survive a single second against such an attack? They would be crushed in an instant. It was time to retreat, to train and grow stronger before daring to dream of such ambitions.

Their confidence shattered, their spirits crushed.

Was this… the power of a human?

Ian leaped back, avoiding the onslaught of white strings, landing on a patch of untouched rubble. His eyes gleamed with understanding as he observed the surging tide of strings. “Devil Fruit… Awakening.”

“It seems you’re aware of it, Fufufufufu…” Doflamingo chuckled, licking the blood from his lips, his sinister grin widening.

He advanced towards Ian, his footsteps transforming the ground and buildings into more white strings. Devil Fruit Awakening.

It was a level of mastery that transcended normal Devil Fruit usage. While Devil Fruit users were numerous, those who achieved awakening were exceedingly rare. Upon awakening, their powers could affect not only themselves but also their environment.

Like Doflamingo, who could now transform his surroundings into strings, and Katakuri, who could turn the environment into mochi, only to have it devoured by Luffy. Both were victims of plot convenience, one a source of sustenance, the other countered by a natural enemy.

Devil Fruit Awakening, like Bankai in the Bleach world and Resurrección for Arrancar, was a power-up that could multiply a user's strength exponentially.

Zoan-type awakenings granted immense physical enhancements, as demonstrated by the Jailer Beasts of Impel Down, capable of rapid regeneration even after sustaining grievous injuries.

Logia-type awakenings often allowed users to transform their surroundings into their respective elements, creating devastating natural disasters. Akainu and Aokiji’s battle for the position of Fleet Admiral had transformed Punk Hazard into a nightmarish landscape of ice and magma. Crocodile, with his Sand-Sand Fruit, could turn entire cities into deserts.

Enel could manipulate the very sky and clouds. And now, both of those powers resided within Ian…
