V1 Chapter 67: LV100

  • 1st Person POV (MC)

-Present Time-

“Where’s the pedestal!?”

I spoke in disbelief as I hurriedly entered the temple looking at the empty spot in the middle of this place.

It is as if the pedestal never existed in the first place... my mind races creating questions like ‘How do I set night and day?’ ‘What about seasonal change?’ ‘What if I want to change biome locations?’

All those thoughts swim in my head but I forcefully calm them down by taking a deep breath and letting it all out at once as my mind calmed down to think.

“It must be related to reaching LV100...”

I guess it’s better time than never to check and I uttered the voice command for the system then checked all the red dots of notification.

First of all, regarding to my {Trait}

-System-

-System-

“Holy-!”

I rubbed the bridge of my nose several times while reading all the upgrades and new things I got, sighing exasperatedly at the sudden changes in most of {Trait}.

What does this all mean? Why is my {Trait} name changed?

Those questions floated in my mind and I calmed myself down deciding to check what changed between the usual and the new.

-System-

  • {Trait}: [Primordial Body, Soul, and Mind (Aspect of Creation)]

Effects: Your body doesn’t age. You do not need to eat, sleep, drink, and breathe. You are immune to poison and diseases.  You can speak, listen, and write all languages. Fragment has 1 HP, 1 SP, and the same MP as you. It also gains any bonuses to {Spell} effects based on your gear.

This entity is an extension of yourself as such you can control it to move and act whichever you want. You can also transfer a part of your senses to the entity. This also means your Star Fragment is capable of using and having your {Trait}.

Since the Fragment has its MP. You can cast {Spell} using the entity as a medium to where the {Spell} came from.

-System-

I squinted my eyes staring at the panels describing my newfound abilities drinking in on many changes happening all at once.

(“I am now immune to magic basically but vulnerable to physical, eh... It’s an ongoing theme anyway. And! I innately have True Sight and Telepathy so I do not need to cast {Spell} for that...”)

I focus on other {Trait} since several things have changed. My [Aegis of Creation] previously known as [Star Shield] now do not have a disable MP regeneration penalty when it’s on but in turn, when it's ‘off’ I have massive MP regeneration...

What does it mean by {Spell} can be customized? Ahhhhh... I’ll experiment with that later. What about my fragments?

Ouh? They are now gaining {Spell} benefits from my gear? Pursing my lips, I continue reading the next ability.

[Entropy of Creation]... That would be my [Star Burst] it does not divide damage if I choose multiple targets. That’s a nice change! Though I haven’t used it ever since I gained that ability...

Moving on! My [Creation] has been simplified, I can create objects or living things... Is it any kind though? I can make skill upgrade books, what about skill books? I need to try it later.

“Oookay... on to the new ability I have. [Knowledge of Creation].”

Its capabilities of permanently increasing my INT and WIS are amazing but the penalty though. That is a dastardly long time. A 30-day cycle means 30 hours IRL.

Hmmm, it’s percentage-based similar to entropy ability. Maybe it would be safe for me if I use 20% of my MP, I think I can survive having 80% Max MP for a long time.

Still...

I turned my head to the empty spot in the middle of My Temple where the pedestal was. As I sighed and kept thinking of the positive stuff. I still have this whole place, I am still capable of putting furniture, and golems still working in their harvesting. So, it’s still productive...

Knowing that I began to slowly and surely remove all the red dots of notification. Most of it is notifications telling me I need to catch up in advancing my class, telling me I can do Rebirth, etc.

Until my eyebrows furrowed upon noticing the ‘Item’ section in the system had a red dot. I am pretty sure I already checked my inventory so it is a new addition.

...

...

...

Huh...?

What is this???

*TAP*

A panel appeared explaining the entire detail of this item or should I say now... a weapon.

In the icon, it looks like a knotted ball made from metals with several interesting-looking engravings though too small for me to read. Those engravings glow in faint silvery light every so often catching my attention. It’s quite a beautiful display even if it’s a minimised icon which makes me wonder how it fully looks wielded.

Seeing this, I looked closer in detail...

(“What the- (Artefact) Rarity item!? Where and how did I get this thing?”)

I racked my brain, retracting several steps on what I do today but to no avail.

Nevertheless, I wanted to know more about it, so I tapped the (Artefact) word as a panel appeared describing what that rarity entails.

...

...

...

Aha...ha...ha...

Basically, (Artefact) is the highest rarity of items as such it has restrictions on who can wield it but also gives a lot of powerful buffs and innate abilities.

First of all, players can only wield and carry 1 (Artefact) item, no more than that but! Players can have multiple (Artefact) though it will be instantly delivered to their Safe inventory. Even if they tried to put it in their inventory, the (Artefact) will automatically be moved to their Safe inventory.

It is different from the (Legendary) type of rarity in items as players can have as many of them as they want though since this game is still kind of new, I haven’t seen a player fully decked out in (Legendary) items.

Secondly, (Artefact) has a feature called ‘Soul Bound’ upon being obtained making it undroppable, indestructible, untradeable, and having very specific requirements on what players need to be able to wield it.

My eyes squint on the icon of this thing as I tapped it and spawned a bigger panel explaining what this is...

-System-

[Universalis Infinitum (Artefact)]

Description: A strange sphere-like object seemingly made from myriads of curved metallic objects merged like a fitted puzzle. Those metals are decorated by engravings that faintly glow. On closer inspection, it appears to be thrumming with unknown power and untapped potential.

Upon unsheathed, the metals unravel revealing what’s beneath. A singular glass orb seemingly contains the universe and how they are made within as it shines in ethereal silver. Each unravelled metal is reconstructed into rings that spin while the glass orb acts as its centre.

The wielder of this weapon has the full authority to manipulate each of the metal rings to alter their Permanent Home.

Several abilities are given to the wielder of this weapon;

[Universal Archive]. You have access to all {Spell} even newly made ones.

[Universal Guidance]. You know exactly when a celestial event will occur and know the direction of where you’re going. Significantly increase the radius of map discovery and your map cannot be obscured.

[Universal Alignment]. You will gain benefits when underneath celestial events.

[Revitalization]. Significantly increase maximum MP, MP regeneration, and {Spell} effectiveness. (3/day), you can instantly restore your MP to full. This ability also immediately triggers when you are at 0 MP.

[Realignment]. (3/day) You can force a celestial event to occur and make it last longer per day depending on your INT and WIS. You can dismiss the effects.

[Play with Fate]. (1/day) Choose a target, initially removing all negative status effects and crowd control on them. Then within a minute any damage or healing to the target will be delayed. After the duration ends, the target will receive double damage or healing depending on which one is the highest during the ability’s duration.

[Path to Salvation]. (1/day) Choose a target, that target will be fully restored and then affected by [Bless], [Bastion], and [Potency] as if you cast those {Spell}. They last until dispelled by others or you dismiss the effects.

[Path to Ruination]. (1/day) Choose a target, that deals magic damage equal to your combined INT and WIS. The target will be inflicted with [Curse], [Frailty], and [Lethargy] as if you cast those {Spell}. They last until dispelled by others or you dismiss the effects.

[All there is to see]. (3/day) Choose a location or a target. You will see and hear around your chosen location or target. If the target or chosen location moves, your senses will move accordingly as if you are there. You can hop in and out of this ability whenever you wish and dismiss individual effects or all effects of this ability for each location or target.

[All there is to know]. (3/day) Choose a target or a location. You will be given true information about the target or the location in a myriad sort of forms.

Requirement: Primordial (Aspect of Creation)

(“T-that’s... quite a lot to digest.”)

“Huff...”

I guess that is why it has (Artefact) grade. Clicking on the icon, I equipped it replacing my staff in the inventory.

Though... unlike the staff, I didn’t grip anything so I’m wondering where is the sphere?

Turning my head round and round, I finally managed to see the sphere currently orbiting me in a fluid movement.

(“How do I... ‘wield’ it?”)

Uhm...

I hope that sphere stopped flying everywhere, it’s getting kind of annoying like a fly hassling me in summer.

I tried to catch it like trying to capture a fly but whenever I tried to obstruct its flying path, the sphere seemed to dodge it.

What should I do then!?

With hands out in a gesture of confusion, I am thinking of the meaning of ‘Unsheathing’ as all of a sudden, the sphere stopped and began floating down towards my left hand.

(“Eh?”)

Resting just atop my open palm is the aforementioned metallic knotted ball. A few centimetres away from touching my skin but still... I can feel a thrum coming out from this sphere.

It felt like a heartbeat as I rested my right hand on top of my chest where my heart was.

*THUMP* *THUMP* *THUMP*

It’s strange... slowly but surely I began to feel a pattern of my heartbeat and this thing’s thrums synchronizing making me feel calmer rather than panicking.

Lifting my left hand, the thrumming of this sphere intensified as a faint glow of silver gossamer leaked from gaps between the metals.

It then began to...

*CLICK* *CLICK* *CLICK*

Each metallic component dislodged itself and began to whirl and seemingly hover around. Revealing what’s inside...

!!!

That’s the Astral Orb...

I recognize that thing anywhere!! A glass orb that seemed to contain galaxies within and kept playing the ‘Big Bang’ animation.

I see I see... So this is the new and improved pedestal?
