Perfect World: Dream of the Immortal Era

Chapter 73: Arrival of Celestial Heroes, Stir in the Burial Grounds

Upon arrival, blessings were bestowed, plunging all living creatures into a state of enlightenment.

Undoubtedly, this was a grand feast of evolution. Many seized the opportunity to break through to new heights.

Naturally, the lower one's cultivation, the easier it was to transcend their current realm, whereas those with higher cultivation faced a slim chance of breaking through.

For instance, beings at the True Immortal level found advancement particularly challenging, often taking eons to progress even a single step. Without a heaven-defying chance, they might remain stagnant for their entire existence.

"Boom!"

The world trembled lightly, and a shower of blossoms fell from the cosmic starry sky. Golden Crows streaked across the heavens, True Phoenixes danced, and innumerable golden lotus of the Dao rooted themselves in the void.

A golden highway extended from the horizon, vast and majestic, exuding the supreme aura of an Immortal King.

The King of the Disk arrived, seated in an ancient war chariot shrouded in chaos, his grand form barely discernible to the outside world.

"Boom!"

Simultaneously, deep within the Primeval Imperial City, seven monumental auras belonging to Immortal Kings disseminated from within several low-lying hills, swiftly spreading across the Great Dao Heaven.

Anyone not an Immortal King was made acutely aware of their insignificance.

In the face of these guests from the Celestial Domain, the Seven Ancestors of the Border Clans accorded the highest honor, coming forth together to welcome them, a gesture that undoubtedly showed great respect to the King of the Disk.

Shortly thereafter, the vague silhouettes of the Immortal Kings stood there communicating.

Aside from themselves, no one knew the specifics of their exchange.

Not long after, the King of the Disk was led inside, and only then did the divine aura of the Immortal Kings gradually fade away.

"The King of the Disk, an unparalleled formidable figure, one of the strongest in the Celestial Domain, has lived through immeasurably long epochs. No one can say from which era he truly hails."

In the courtyard, a young boy mused aloud.

"Who would have thought that such a peerless Immortal King would attend the coronation event in our realm?"

"The Celestial Domain and our realm share a common foe. In this border conflict, the Immortal King of the Wang Family decisively dispatched an Immortal Monarch, naturally alerting the Celestial Domain. An extraordinary Immortal King attending the event thus makes perfect sense," remarked Li Daoge of the Qian Kun Sect.

"Furthermore, the Lord King of the Disk has always been on friendly terms with the Immortal Kings of our realm, without any conflicts on various fronts. Therefore, his representing the Celestial Domain here in the Imperial City is perfectly fitting," someone added.

As they spoke, the celestial melodies rang out once more, resonating directly in the hearts of all present.

"From the seat of the Primal Unity Immortal King, Quasi-Immortal King Yuhui comes to extend congratulations."

Compared to the King of the Disk, the quasi-Immortal Kings from the Celestial Domain were far less impressive. They didn’t dare make a grand entrance, as the current Imperial City had many Immortal Kings present; a mere quasi-Immortal King naturally wouldn’t dare to show off.

"Pseudo-Immortal King Tuo Mu, under the seat of Immortal King Ao Sheng, has come to offer congratulations."

"Under the seat of Immortal King Taishi…"

"Primeval…"

The names of ancient titans, considered giants in the Celestial Domain, echoed in the ears of all, leaving many people stunned and in awe at the scene.

They had never witnessed so many Immortal Kings and quasi-Immortal Kings in their lifetime. Only now did the beings who traveled from the thirty-three heavens understand the immense influence of the conferment event, which had drawn such heroic figures from the Celestial Domain.

At this time, a strange name was mentioned, causing Wang Heng to slightly frown in confusion.

"Pseudo-Immortal King Wusheng, under the seat of Immortal King Wuji, has come to offer congratulations."

"Immortal King Wuji? How come I’ve never heard of such a magnificent presence in the Celestial Domain?" he inquired of Li Daoge and others beside him.

Upon hearing his question, the faces of the surrounding prodigies looked odd, as if his ignorance of this Immortal King’s name was something unimaginable.

"Does Ancestor Wang truly not know of this Immortal King?"

Seeing their expressions, Wang Heng began searching his memories of the past decade for information on the Immortal King Wuji but found nothing in the end.

From the moment he was born until Wang Heng inhabited this body, "Wang Heng" basically stayed within the Wang family’s Immortal Courtyard, rarely venturing out, and no one had ever told him about Immortal King Wuji, so naturally, he did not know who this Immortal King was.

"I truly do not know. May fellow Daoists enlighten me." Wang Heng humbly requested, sensing that all present seemed to know the origins of Immortal King Wuji apart from him.

"Ancestor Wang, you carry a part of the bloodline of Immortal King Wuji." Someone spoke up, revealing the connection between them.

"What?" Wang Heng was shocked and immediately recalled something his father had mentioned before.

After the border battle ended, Wang Geng, affected by the Origin Blood Curse, sensed a bad omen and promptly sent Wang Heng's mother back to her family in the Celestial Domain. Although he informed Wang Heng of this matter, he hadn’t elaborated further.

Now it seemed that the gentle fairy mother in Wang Heng's memory might be a descendant of the Celestial Domain’s Immortal King Wuji.

He was not satisfied with just that. He continued to inquire with the young beings beside him, who, despite their youthful age, undoubtedly possessed considerable knowledge due to their status and position.

After some inquiries, Wang Heng obtained significant information: the Wusheng Quasi-Immortal King who came to the border imperial city is the direct descendant of the Wuji Immortal King. Moreover, Wang Heng's mother is the Wuji Immortal King's biological daughter, making them uncle and nephew. Upon meeting him, Wang Heng would have to address him as 'Uncle'.

Knowing this, Wang Heng suddenly felt that his background was extraordinarily astonishing.

An Immortal King father, an Immortal King grandfather, seven Immortal King uncles...

Just the Immortal Kings closely connected to him nearly reached double digits, which was truly amazing.

However, having a grand background doesn't mean one can rest easy, as every Immortal King has adversaries.

Before long, the grand champions of the Celestial Domain arrived, including supreme figures like the King of the Disk, as well as quasi-Immortal Kings under the renowned names of Hunyuan, Wuji, Taishi... Moreover, there were emissaries, so ancient that they were almost forbidden, sent by existences whose might had shaken the heavens several epochs ago and who were no longer widely known.

Alongside them came the prodigies from the ancient families and powers of the Celestial Domain, excelling in various fields, each carrying an air of pride.

Historically, the Primitive Ancient Realm has been viewed by the Celestial Domain as a "lower realm". Any prodigy from the Celestial Domain inherently feels superior to the prodigies of the Primitive Ancient Realm.

Unfortunately, they were thwarted in their expectations.

Because as soon as the powerhouses from the Celestial Domain arrived, the other Immortal Kings from the Primitive Ancient Realm also gathered promptly.

For this coronation event, they had made thorough preparations across the thirty-three heavens, and now everything was ready, only awaiting the right moment.

“The Boundless Immortal King has arrived!”

A voice resonated within everyone’s hearts, followed by a grand bell toll echoing throughout the entire Primitive Imperial City.

“The Six Paths Reincarnation Immortal King has arrived!”

A celestial path filled with reincarnation aura extended from the horizon, as a majestic and mysterious middle-aged man walked forward, with an ancient Six Paths Reincarnation Wheel on his head.

Everyone gazed up to the sky, their minds reeling, because the Six Paths Reincarnation Immortal King was considered one of the strongest in the ancient realm, and witnessing his presence was undoubtedly fortunate.

“The Immortal King of Heaven and Earth has arrived!”

As the words fell, the heavens and earth moved in unison. An unremarkable old man came stepping on clouds. He seemed ordinary, but no one dared to underestimate him, because he was the Immortal King of Heaven and Earth, a giant amongst the ancient realm's titans.

“Lord True Dragon has arrived!”

Chaoitc energy surged into the sky, unleashing an unparalleled, intimidating aura. Every living being felt a shudder, as if witnessing a colossus of a True Dragon hovering above the firmament, its cold gaze penetrating, its scales glistening with a grim sheen, and its massive maw roaring defiantly at the heavens.

This is the world’s foremost species. Their progeny, upon reaching adulthood, inevitably become Immortal Kings, a singular presence in the entire realm of cultivation. Besides the True Dragons, who else could boast such a feat for their descendants?

However, producing offspring is a formidable challenge for True Dragons, precisely due to this reason.

“Lord True Phoenix has arrived!”

Even before the voice proclaimed it, people had discerned who was coming, as crimson flames erupted, scorching half the heavens. From within soared a titanic True Phoenix, its divine wings spread wide, nearly encompassing the entire sky.

Like the True Dragon, the True Phoenix exuded a terrifying, ominous aura.

They are renowned supreme beasts, colossal terrors known throughout the primordial ancient realm. Knowledge of their blood-soaked rise would leave anyone trembling, for they have slain and devoured countless living beings.

“Lord Qilin has arrived!”

In another part of the sky, ominous clouds formed, thick as vapor, obscuring the sun and moon. A gigantic beast, covered in scales, emerged within these malevolent clouds, its eyes a blood-red, exuding a chilling presence.

This is another grand terror from the ancient realms, the Qilin, a creature many worlds deem an auspicious beast. However, in truth, the Qilin is a supreme entity honed from bloodshed.

“The Second Heavenly Master has arrived!”

As these words were spoken, the sky dimmed, revealing a winged dragon-like creature, its eyes indifferent. It gazed upon the Immortal Kings who had gathered at the border city, finally resting its gaze upon the True Dragon, and let out a tremendous roar.

The deafening sound waves spread, fracturing the earth and unleashing a storm of dust and stones, akin to an apocalyptic roar.

The True Dragon made no response, merely casting a cold glance at the newcomer.

The other Immortal Kings and formidable beasts remained silent, offering no counsel, knowing well that these two creatures had once clashed violently for the true title of "Dragon." In the end, the original primordial dragon with wings fell short by one move, failing to claim the True Dragon's name and thus becoming the "Second Heavenly Master."

“Lord Astral Golden Ox has arrived!”

A familiar Immortal King to Wang Heng appeared, still the Astral Golden Ox towing a chariot into the realm of Immortals.

His arrival incited exclamations from the ancient realm's inhabitants. To know, celestial gold is unyielding, and for beings who cultivate through celestial gold, their form becomes nearly indestructible, so much so that even Immortal Kings find it challenging to cause harm just by standing there.

“Lord Immortal Monk King has arrived!”

In the distant sky, the supreme scriptures of the ancient monks resonate through the universe. A young and handsome monk joins his hands in prayer, leading a vast group of ancient monks sailing over the lands, where golden lotuses of Buddhism spring forth everywhere they pass.

In addition, there is a majestic and mighty ancient lion, its eyes filled with Buddhist insight, yet with an underlying fierce glare.

“That’s the Fearless Lion, once notorious for its ferocity, devouring several True Immortals before it was converted and led to the Buddhist path by the Immortal Monk King, becoming a sacred guardian beast of the ancient monk lineage.”

“That’s the White Jade Dragon Elephant, similar to the Fearless Lion, a guardian sacred beast of the ancient monks, incredibly powerful, subdued only by an Immortal King.”

“The Blue-Gold Marten, a battle beast of the ancient monks, matches the strength of the two sacred guardian beasts.”

Many people discussed fervently, shaken by the formidable power of the ancient monks’ lineage, with no less than three giant battle beasts of ferocious caliber, not to mention the enlightened monks.

Subsequently, many great figures arrived, including an Immortal King wielding the supreme treasure, the Ten Realms Diagram. Known for his legendary experiences, he once ruled as the Heaven's Lord across ten realms, and through his insights forged the supreme treasure, becoming an Immortal King.

Because of his experiences, the position of Heaven's Lord became highly coveted, with many quasi-Immortal Kings vying for it, requiring substantial power to hold that position.

Even more fearsome were the ancient world’s great beasts, such as the Kunpeng, Ku, Nine Nether Ao, and the Heavenly Horned Ant. These legendary figures, although not having truly reached the Immortal King realm, each possessed unparalleled secret arts that could even hold their own against an Immortal King when provoked.

All these beings stood within or comparable to the Immortal King domain, accompanied by a sheer number of quasi-Immortal Kings and True Immortals, including all Thirty-Three Heaven's Lords.

It can be said that nearly all the pinnacle powers of the primordial ancient realm had gathered.

Despite some enmities and past grievances between the top figures, they were all temporarily put aside on the day of the King's Conferment, with no one bringing them up.

The reason is simple, aside from the Heavenly Domain, it was compensation from all thirty-two heavens’ races and forces for eras of fighting the foreign invasions at the borders, a monumental epoch event.

“Boom!”

In the central region of the ancient realm, a sturdy tree branch spread across lands, arriving at the frontier, bringing infinite Dao rules, instantly supplementing and nourishing the Heavenly Domain.

The foreign army invaded, crossed the frontier, and launched an Immortal King battle into this sky; the immortal kings hadn’t spared the Heavenly Domain any considerations, causing unavoidable damage and trauma that day. Now, an Immortal King personally conducted a ritual, invoking the World Tree to exert its force, completing and perfecting some of the broken rules, adding luster to the King's conferment event.

In a day's journey, an ancient city gathered dozens of Immortal King level beings, countless quasi-Immortal Kings and True Immortals, such terrifying power and aura had already spread beyond the ancient city.

In the neighboring region called the Burial Grounds, sharing a border with the frontier, supreme beings who had slept in great tombs for half or even several epochs awoke, gazing in astonishment towards the Imperial City.
