Chapter 28: Familiars [2]

You know what they say about duality, for example, you can't be a hero without a villain. You can't be a kind and gentle main character without the most hated douche known as the antagonist. Naturally, a person can't be a writer without a loyal reader, this is a tale about my fateful encounter with one of my readers

"Do you have a death wish or something? Why did you enter the center... Even if you're strong you can't underestimate the trials. Do you think if one of your teammates dies? Do you think it'll give you a time-out when you're about to die?" He ordered his familiars to kill the mountain of disabled infected. Whilst he walks closer to the followers of his manipulative side character

'Shit he's getting closer don't tell me he's gonna kill us? Wait a minute, he asked us why were here in the first place. I might have a chance to survive,'

"Were sorry if we bothered you, I didn't think we would get ambushe~ Arrghhh!!! W-Why are you doing this?" Morris grabbed the only player brave enough to reply to his question. He didnt hesitate in choking the player even though he was a part of the cult

"I'll let the rest of you go, I'll give back your ally once im done asking him some of my questions~ sucks to be you. your allies are a bunch of pricks. They up and left as soon as they were given a chance to flee," He freed the player from his hands as soon as the players were far from their vicinity

[You got one of them what's the next step? Torture, him to spill his secrets, feed him the infected? Or maybe you're going to leave him in the darkest alley butt-naked so he'll get raped? I don't know the outcome I'm so excited, Kekekeke]

'I always forget that Sage is a bit of a lunatic from time to time. Anywho, I need to get close to this guy, he looks like an easy way to get some information within the cult. For now, let's check if he's a huge fanatic that's a try-hard follower,'

"What's your name I sent a private message to one of your members on the player server and yet they didn't reply!! I want to join the cult, you could say that my behavior is because im pissed. It's like you don't even know who I am and I have to wait before I can join," Morris said walking closer to Hyunsu

'This guy might be a transmigrater he's the only one who has his stats perfectly invested he doesn't put a ton on Hp. A decent amount on def, and lastly, his Mp, Atk, and Spd are enough to fight a ton of enemies by himself. Even though his skills are meant for the early story he's too suspicious, too bad he got caught up in the ambush. And that's not the worst part he met me,'

"I'm Park Hyunsu a lower-ranking member of the cult, you must be the rising rookie Spell thief? I've heard about you from the systems broadcasting. Thank you for saving us, If you're still mad about having to wait for you to join our ranks I can help you. I'm just a lower rank but I'll dm one of the senior members ~ Grrrrgh!!!?" Hyunsu tilted his head to show his appreciation, but as soon as he did, his neck was met by Morris's hands

'Boo!!! Can't you even act like you're in a life-and-death situation? This guy is way too calm. Sigh, to think you stayed alive for so long, he's too naive, this guy didn't even pull out his weapon. He's a bonafide transmigrater to the bone, plus I read about Koreans who would tilt their heads. Whenever they show their gratitude or whatever, I've read about it because I put some foreign characters in my story,'

"Nice to meet you transmigrater, do you think I wouldn't notice," Morris tightened his grip as soon as he confirmed the origins of his chosen player

"H-how did you know that!!? I wasn't even doing anything suspicious to be noticed arghh!!!," Hyunsu got slammed into the rough surface of a nearby tree, whilst his neck was being held by Morris

"Who the hell would act so nice in front of a stranger? I would've let you go if you acted a little hostile to me. Guess being honest, isn't doing you any good," He injected Hyunsu with a serum before he let go of his body. Hyunsu tried to make a run, however, his vision became unstable. His body felt heavy and later on, he noticed that he had been injected with a drug

As soon as he fell unconscious on the ground, he recollected his arrival in the world of trials. It was a memory that he couldn't forget that felt like a dream come true or a nightmare thats worse than his life

'My name is Park Hyunsu a 25-year-old salaryman in Seoul. I have an average-paying job and a normal life I don't have any hobbies except reading. The World of Trials is my favorite book, which was a system novel. This story revolves around the viewpoint of the protagonist Hugo Miller,'

'That book was a good read, but sadly, it ended. I still have all the chapters downloaded on my phone. I thought I should accept the end of the novel until a message popped out of my view. It was a strange occurrence it was a status screen with the same design as the book I read about. I thought I was drunk and carelessly agreed, but then I heard a voice that came inside my head. Before I could hear the voice, I blacked out and when I woke up I was in the prologue of my favorite book,'

After some time had passed he woke up in a cave filled with bones that may have been from a human being. From a distant location, he heard the sounds of swords clashing with each other. Curious he was to know the origins of the sounds, he walked to get a closer look at the fight. When he was halfway through he was startled by something that touched his leg it was the familiars who latched their tails on his feet. Within this dark and suffocating cave, Morris was fighting without batting an eye at a large and horrific monster

"Meow (Looks like we can finally move with our plans. Moon tell our owner that he's finally awake)," Sun kept on rubbing her head on the side of his leg whilst she purrs

Moon appeared in front of the entrance of the cave, this alerted the monster which noticed his presence. He kept on the same pace without the need to increase his speed to reach his owner. He didn't care about the gigantic monster ever after it swung its hammer which aimed to end his life

He jumps at the same time the hammer could hit him and he lands on top of the hammer's end. At this very moment, he chooses to run through the handle of the hammer toward the body of the monster. He prepared his skill and paralyzed its right arm before it could even react. He executed the monster's life with the use of his corrosion that devoured the head of the monster

"Owner, the player you as us to guard has finally risen from his slumber,"

'I think this is the effect of the seal placed within their bodies... I'm the only one who could understand what their saying. This only applies to me, anyone else would only hear a meow,'

"Sage, are you there?"

[I'm here, do you need anything?]

"I just want to inform you that the guy I kidnapped is a seer. Log off for a bit, we need to talk about something confidential,"

[Why should I? I'm not even related to your world. If I hear something confidential I won't spread It]

"I'm not asking!! Either you leave now, and you can enter after 10 hours or I'll disable your broadcasting privileges. You know what will happen right? You'll have to wait for a whole week before you can enter," He threatened his deity until he gave in to his request

[System: The Forgotten Sage has logged out, and the player has now disabled the broadcasting mode. It will be available after 10 hours have passed]

'He's coming here I need to hide before he catches me!! I don't want to experience another one of his attacks,'

"I wouldn't venture forth that path even though it's the exit, that place hit its respawn it'll bring back all of the monsters I killed. Are you confident that you can escape? Why don't the two of us have a wonderful chat, you don't have a choice but to say yes. Btw, I have this thing that you're carrying inside your pocket," He reaches out to his pocket and reveals Hyunsu's phone which contains every chapter of his novel

'What should I do, im not a match against him. he's on another level that's beyond my ability, even if he's not the one who caused the change of difficulty. If an irresponsible person gets ahold of that phone they could change the story itself. Even if I die, I won't let him get away with that, phone in his possession,'

"If you're thinking this phone is important and you'll do everything in your power to stop me you know what that makes you? Don't try answering, heroism isn't the word it's called foolishness. Why would I need a pocket-size version of my book," He throws his phone while Hyunsu catches it before he can piece out what Morris openly declared

'This fucker had the nerve to pull off something like this? He has a copy of my novel he can visit whenever he needs. If I didn't know any better this guy was a Kim Dokja wannabe. But the way he acts, it doesn't look like he has the balls to mess with my story there's no harm in revealing my identity,'

"You the author? Who the hell would believe such an obvious lie? I don't know why you brought me here, I'm guessing that you're searching for the cause as well,"

'Sigh, this isn't going to work let's just lie it's better than telling the truth. I wonder why Sun and Moon strongly reacted to this hidden dungeon. There wasn't anything special about this place, unless, is it related to the mad alchemist?'

"Well, I can't let anyone know who I truly am let's just say im one of the top fans in the world of trials. I think being a fan will be more believable than pretending to be the author. It looks like you saw through my tricks if you want to get out of here you need to choose. Would you wait till I finish this dungeon or will you help me," He calls back his familiars whilst he dives into the remaining stage

He didn't look back at his reader, rather than wasting his time, he continued to enter the dark path ahead. Hyunsu who was left behind sees his equipment near the entrance of the stage. Which was the stage that Morris had recently cleared without any of his equipment missing

"You're leaving him behind?" Sun questioned her master's orders

"What the hell is wrong with you? I've told you our orders come first anything else is second to none," Moon replied to his other half with an irritated tone after she questioned the decision of their owner

Morris stopped what was supposed to be a potential fight amongst his opposing familiars. He was worried that he might get hit as the two of them are currently residing on his shoulders

"Silence!! I'm not in the mood for any of you're quarrels!!! I'm having a hard time because I followed your delusions, are you sure that you've felt something? I haven't appraised anything that would've stimulated your whole body," He waited for their answer before the three of them entered the remaining stages

"We're not sure, by the time we've stumbled across this place something bothered us. It was too stimulating to the point that we regained a few of our memories relating to our previous owner," Moon replied to his question whilst the three of them heard some footsteps coming from their rear

'It looks like he made his choice... I'm not leaving this place until I get some answers. Transmigrater or not whoever you are im gonna beat the shit out of you. for messing with my book, for now, it's not bad if I teamed up with my reader. Who knows we might talk about my novel afterwards,'
