Reincarnated as a Fox to Bring Revolution

V2Ch-4-First Magitech

{[I would not be against such a thing. However, for me to do that, I need you to answer my question.]}

With the Divine Systems prompting, I remembered the first question and rattled off the same answer I had given everyone so far.

'Progression, Exploration/Discovery, and Foxes.'

{[Alright then, that was fast. So it was Progression, Exploration, and- Wait! Did you say foxes? Out of everything you could have picked to combine, Why Foxes?]}

Knowing this question was coming, I responded at the drop of a hat, 'Because when I first needed to decide on what her authorities were was when someone asked about the goddess of foxes, Elinaria. They also referred to her as the kitsune goddess.'

{[Oh that will be quiet a lot of fun.]}

I was no longer angered or indignant; I was just confused and curious as I asked, 'What do you mean it will be fun?'

{[I am the one who will be making the Holy Manuscript you requested. And since deities can change based off the beliefs of their believers in the beginning stage if she is presented as a kitsune goddess to enough people. Then she will be a Kitsune goddess.]}

This was new information to me, but it was also something I was not sure about. 'Is it fine to do that?'

{[It is something that Elinaria is aware of and something I feel needs to happen given that she is your mother and you are a Kitsune, so that is what I will be doing. Now, why did you choose some of the most complicated Authorities?]}

This question was easy to answer, 'Because, from my guess, they could give her the most power from simply existing.'

{[That indeed is the case. Now, what part of progression is she supposed to have authority over?]}

Grinning because I knew that what I was about to say would be absurd, I stated, 'Progression.'

The stars on the window froze for half a second, which is quite impressive if this thing is really a divine computer, before the message changed once more, showing, {[Wait! Do you know what you just said!]}

With the grin still plastered across my face, I respond, 'Everything is in a state of constant progression to a final point. Everything.'

{[I just realized how insane you are.]}

With my expression not changing, I asked, 'Does that change anything?'

{[No.]}

My tail has now started to wag around in snapping movements as I ask, 'Is the book ready then?'

{[Yes. We are also not able to talk anymore as the higher-ups have started to notice my continued focus on this world.]}

With that last message, my system comes back on.

Then I heard a notification saying that the field the divine system set up was removed, and the self-diagnostic system was installed and activated.

I was fairly certain the divine system was just using the higher-ups taking notice as an excuse to leave, but I honestly did not care much and simply moved on with what I wanted to do.

Checking the crafting screen, I saw that the manuscript was finished as the word 'Claim' scrolled across the image. Claiming the book placed it on the bed beside me.

No longer feeling as tired as I was, I pulled the book in front of me and began reading, thoroughly scanning every part of the text for any errors or oversights.

I spent the entire night like this, looking over the new book. When I finished, I did not find anything wrong and decided to make a few copies.

I knew that the Glacial Peak wanted a copy, so I made one to send over there.

I was also going to send one over to the Xia mansion, but other than that, I made a few extra in case I need to give some out.

With that settled, I found that I was not that tired and went downstairs to get some food. Somehow, Yuki managed to predict this and was already in the kitchen making something for breakfast.

With that taken care of, I went to the dining table and sat down to think about how I was going to fix the house's water issue.

I could try to find a stream to place the pump into and transfer the water up here, but the problem there was that I would need to power it, and I had no reliable method for doing so.

Another method was to place a well pump or two next to the house, but that still comes with problems of its own.

I would need to generate power so I could use the mill to make the pump and that would require a source of water. The only way I could get around this is if I had another source of energy.

As I was thinking about this problem, Raina walked in with a book floating in front of her, the pages turning on their own.

Curious about this, I asked her while pointing at the book, "How are you doing that?"

She looked over at me, then at the book, and said, "It's a simple immortal spell, but if you want to use it, I could make a formation tool for it."

It was then a crazy idea struck me, so I asked her, "Is it possible to make a formation that is capable of rotating a steel rod at high speeds?"

When Raina heard my question, her eyes narrowed, and Yuki, who had just walked in, had her face go red. Raina then asks incredulously, "It is. Why?"

Without waiting a heartbeat more, I shout, "I need you to come with me to the workshop now." Then I grabbed her hand and ran out of the room.

Dragging her behind me, I ran all the way to the workshop in under a minute and had the steam generator placed in front of me.

Not caring about what she was thinking at this point, I grabbed some of my tools and started to tear apart the machine's top cover.

It still took Raina a few moments to recover, and by this point, I was pulling the final screw that held the top cover on.

When I did get it off, I almost fell backward and hit the ground, but I turned at the last minute and dropped the cover on the floor, saving my balance.

This allowed me to get a look at Raina, who was still standing there off to the side, so I motioned her to come over. I ignored the confused look on her face as I climbed on top of the generator again.

When Raina joined me, I motioned to the exposed turbine blades, asking, "Is it possible to place the formation on the blades, or do I need to cut them off so we only have to use a steel rod?"

As I was watching her, I saw a look of understanding crossed her face as she said, "It is possible to place the formation on the blades, but you are going to need to do something in return."

Not thinking too much, I asked, "What would you like me to do?"

Raina then gave me a look that made me wish I had said something else as she said, "Combat training with me."

It was at this moment that I started to think I should have just gone exploring to find a stream to use. However, it was at this moment that Raina pulled out a set of strange tools and started messing with the turbine blades.

I was going to say something when I remembered that she was of a higher cultivation realm than me, so I could not necessarily say no if she insisted.

This realization also brought forth the one that said how horribly inept I was when it came to combat and that I had been treating this world like a version of Earth again. If I were anywhere else, I might have been dead at this moment.

After not saying anything and letting Raina continue, I saw that her expression turned to a pleased smile.

Soon, I got a notification from the system.

[Congratulations on completing the modification of Earth's technology to utilize a form of magic. You have unlocked the Magitech tech tree.]

[Due to your efforts and those of others, you have unlocked the Jerryrigged Electric Generator tech.]

Watching as Raina climbed down, I opened the system window for the generator.

[Jerryrigged Steam/Qi Turbine Generator]

{A steam turbine generator from Earth modified to use Qi as a secondary power source. This was either due to a Qi Revival or apocalypse on Earth or a transmigrator/ Reincarnator building one in another world.}

[Due to this being a jerryrigged piece of technology, this generator cannot be upgraded.]

With the generator now operational, I hook up power lines to the mill and open its crafting interface. There, I select the filtered well pump and set a few to be crafted.

I then moved on to the stone cutting bench and ordered two large stone cisterns and waste tanks.

With that I moved back to the mill, as I remembered I needed a few more water heaters and also a few pressure tanks.

I set one water heater out of the few that I needed to be made to craft and then moved on to the pressure tanks as they were more important.

As I clicked on the last pressure tank, I got a message saying that I was out of resources. Thankfully, I do not need it right now, but it is still a little concerning.

After seeing me standing there with my hand on my chin and my tail slowly swaying back and forth, Raina says, "Since the crafting will take some time, are you ready for training?"
