Reincarnated As Shiba Clan’s Heir! (Bleach-Gin)

Ch63- Kenpachi Fight!

Just a reminder. I am mostly using the official timeline, but some of these events have gaps of hundreds of years in between I shorten to mere months to fit the pace. You are not losing anything, also it doesn't change anything. Just that I don't want Kazuki to spend hundreds of years to reach normal 3rd Seat Level.

-

A few months had passed since Tokinada was brutally attacked, and Kazuki was deep in thought. It was curious. Despite all of Kazuki's efforts to lead Tokinada towards Aizen and Tousen, no move had been made.  Kazuki pondered on this as he sat in the classroom, his thoughts swirled like a vortex, searching for answers. Perhaps he had been too subtle, or maybe Tokinada was playing his own game.

Lost in thought, the sound of the classroom door snapping open broke his concentration. Kensei walked in, an aura of energy subtly radiating from him. While most would find it hard to read anything from the stoic demeanor, Kazuki, who shared a deep bond with Kensei, could discern the spark of excitement bubbling just beneath the surface.

His curiosity piqued, Kazuki raised an eyebrow. "What's got you in such a state?"

Kensei's lips curled into a slight grin, a rarity. "No class today. Soya Azashiro has challenged Kenpachi Kuruyashiki."

Kazuki blinked, taken aback. "Oh." The weight of that challenge wasn't lost on him. Kenpachi Kuruyashiki was not just a captain of the 11th Division but also held the title of 'Kenpachi', marking him as one of the mightiest combatants in Seireitei.

Without missing a beat, Kazuki rose, his eyes darting to the back of the classroom where a few of the girls were chatting. In a swift motion, before Yoruichi could react, he swept her off her feet, slinging her over his shoulder.

Yoruichi squealed in surprise, struggling lightly. "Kazuki! Put me down!"

"There's been a challenge for the Kenpachi title. Thought you wouldn't want to miss it," Kazuki remarked, a teasing tone evident.

Yoruichi peered over Kazuki's shoulder, her wide eyes filled with mischief. "Then what are we waiting for? Giddy up!" With a playful smirk, she sent a slap resounding against his ass cheek, her fingers pressing with just enough force to send a playful sting.

Kazuki's eyes widened momentarily, a surprised grunt escaping him. A sly grin formed on his lips as he tilted his head slightly, eyeing the defiant Yoruichi. "Oh, you're going to pay for that." Without warning, he began to tickle her sides mercilessly. She wriggled and giggled, her attempts to evade his teasing fingers proving futile as she was draped over his shoulder.

A chuckle escaped from Lisa as she watched the antics unfold, her eyes dancing with amusement. "Never a dull moment with you two around."

Mashiru, her vibrant green hair swaying with each nod, joined in with the laughter. "Yoruichi should know better than to challenge Kazuki like that."

Meanwhile, Isane, her usually composed demeanor slightly ruffled, watched the playful interaction with a soft smile touching her lips. She felt a hint of warmth rise to her cheeks, finding the scene both amusing and slightly embarrassing.

"Seems like the challenger's presence has made everyone a bit more... lively," Lisa mused, observing the ripple of excitement and tension that had spread throughout the academy.

With Yoruichi finally calming down, she fixed Kazuki with a mock-glare, her fingers still gently rubbing the spot where he had tickled her. "Next time, you'll think twice before making me your mount," she quipped, an impish grin spreading across her face.

Kazuki rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his own smile. "Only if you think twice before treating me like a horse."

Kensei, shaking his head with a smirk, interjected, "Enough, you two. The challenge isn't going to wait. We should move if we want good seats."

Hoisting Yoruichi effortlessly, Kazuki began to stride confidently towards the arena, the gentle murmur of anticipation filling the air around them. The others trailed behind, animated conversations and soft laughter blending seamlessly. The setting sun bathed the pathway in a warm orange hue, lending an almost ethereal quality to the surroundings.

Reaching the arena, its vastness immediately came into view, accompanied by the resounding cacophony of the eager crowd that had already occupied their seats. Everywhere he looked, the stands were a mosaic of brightly colored robes and muted whispers.

Without needing to scan the crowd for long, Kazuki effortlessly picked out the Gotei seats. There, amidst a sea of Shinigami uniforms, sat faces he recognized, their silent nods of acknowledgment conveying respect and mutual understanding.

Selecting a vantage point, Kazuki settled down. Yoruichi's presence, always comforting and familiar, settled to his right, her focus already on the soon-to-commence bout. On his left, Isane gently eased into her seat, her demeanor still holding the composed, gentle aura she was known for.

Mashiru, always one for drama, theatrically huffed. "I wanted to sit next to Kazuki," she moaned, her voice dripping with playful petulance. The flash of mischief in her eyes betrayed her jest, but it was enough to get a reaction.

With a soft, almost bashful voice, Isane offered, "You can come here."

Yet Mashiru waved off the offer with a nonchalant hand, "That would leave a bad taste," she remarked before her eyes lit up with a sudden idea. "I know!" And with that, she gracefully maneuvered herself onto Kazuki's lap, settling in with a contented sigh. Her head nestled comfortably just below his chin, making him instinctively rest his chin atop her soft green hair.

The playful roll of Yoruichi's eyes spoke volumes. She was more than accustomed to Mashiru's antics, but sometimes, just sometimes, they never failed to amuse her. The others too, had seen this playful side of Mashiru enough times to let her have her moment, focusing instead on the arena.

"Think Azashiro has a chance?" Lisa's voice, casual yet inquisitive, sliced through the surrounding chatter.

Kazuki, his voice steady, responded, "Kuruyashiki is not the Kenpachi just for show. But challenges like these... they're always unpredictable."

Kensei, ever the voice of reason, added, "Regardless of the outcome, it's the fight that matters. Both will give their all, and that's what we're here to witness."

As the moments ticked by, the atmosphere grew thick with palpable tension. All chatter slowly faded, replaced by bated breaths and expectant gazes. The arena, momentarily serene, stood ready to host a battle of immense proportions.
