Reverend Insanity’s Formation Venerable

Wei Ru entered the Regional Borders, as expected, it didn't interfere with him at all, allowing a smooth passage, this was one of the aspects Gu Immortals envied about mortals.

After walking for days, he had already passed the Regional Walls and entered into an ordinary desert. 

He put his hand on his eyebrows to block the sun while looking ahead, these days, he was surviving while eating the vines his rank 1 Gu had produced. Luckily it had some water as well or he would have died. 

"This heat is truly very tough to withstand, the sun is gazing down on me like a parent to a child," he had a bitter smile as he continued his trek. In the distance he could see some people, likely a caravan, however, they could also be looters who had looted a caravan, "I am severely weakened in this place since Wood path dao marks don't exist here at all." He was almost sick of seeing all the sand, he continued his trek for another few days before finally finding an oasis, finally, it seemed fate didn't forsake him. 

Wei Ru was still calm, who knows, maybe it was a mirage, maybe he had finally gone crazy, yet he still continued that way, it's his only hope. 

A few hours later, he finally arrived at the oasis, he was still cautious, maybe there is a ferocious wild beast, after all, in the western desert, life can only hope to survive in these small few pockets of life. 

As expected, he was right, "I sense a disturbance in the area under my feet, it's likely a desert snake," he propped himself up using the vines, after a few seconds, the vines were attacked by countless desert snakes, they had a hardened frill to help them survive moving in the sand at high speeds. There was also a hundred class beast king, it looked menacingly towards Wei Ru. 

He used tree trunk explosion continuously to beat them, their flesh were still scattered in the sand a few hours later.

Wei Ru decided to keep these few sources of meat and threw valuable materials he had dug up at the mountain cave.

He confirmed that there were no threatening beasts nearby and used his Wood path gu worms to construct a house for him. It was already night time and Wei Ru's eyes were already bloodshot from not having slept for many days. 

He woke up to the sight of the blazing sun which almost blinded his eyes. He went to the oasis below and drunk few gulps of water before thinking with a clear mind. "Let's put the matter of Blood Demon's challenge aside, the main priority is to become stronger rapidly, to do that I need to go to a Gu master village. To get there I obviously have to leave this place, yet who knows how far away the nearest source of water is, let alone people. I should also study that Incomplete Formation path inheritance."

After a few months, he found something strange, it was a Red Pecker bird, it was quite common in Western desert and it was said that it could memorize the locations of countless oasis. 

Wei Ru in his blatant excitement used his gu to capture this bird, yet the bird saw this and flew away.

Wei Ru had a dejected face, "haste makes waste," he sighed before formulating a plan to capture this Red Pecker bird, it was his only hope, he took out his trusty papers, they were high quality and could survive in any region. He began to brainstorm while also cultivating, He finally reached Upper rank 3 and managed to figure out the habits of this Red Pecker bird, he threw some of his remaining meat towards it, it seeing a chance ate it up before climbing back up towards the tree. 

Wei Ru had a wry smile, "this will take quite some time, however, if there is something I have, it's time."

He was always confident in himself.

"They come every month, I don't know if they are even the same bird, however, if I keep on throwing meat, I might have a chance. 

Every time the Red Pecker bird came, he would throw meat at it, by now at least a year had passed. "I have confirmed my worst suspicions, there is absolutely no one who knows about this oasis, if they did, they would have used it as a resting station between caravans."

Today would be the 15th time he would feed the Red Pecker bird, he noticed something in the sky, it was the Red Pecker Bird, it was on the brink of death, it's feathers looked burnt, it looked beyond dehydrated, Wei Ru decided to quickly help, after feeding it water and meat that it kept asking for, it looked better, yet still didn't have many feathers, it stayed around Wei Ru, he decided it was time to teach this bird what he was saying and using the meat as incentive. After a month he gazed at the tall tree where the Red Pecker bird usually sat every month.

"There are 2 possibilities, either the bird coming this time died, or the one I have is the one which makes the repeated visits." Wei Ru thought carefully, he looked at the Red Pecker bird next to him. He gently smiled, being isolated for such a long time, he began to see this simple bird as his family, he had also finally reached Peak Rank 3. 

"I finally have enough primeval essence to plan a long trek across Western Desert, to find civilization, He planned this for many months so he was absolutely ready. The bird seeing it's master's determination also chirped in. 

"Hahaha, good, I know you are bored of this place as well, hmm, let me give you a name. From now on, you are Wei Su."

The Bird chirped harder in happiness, Wei Ru also laughed as both began to sleep, tomorrow to an undefined time, it would be extremely harsh.
