Shuttling Between the Two Worlds

Chapter 49: Alchemy Tower [5]

One by one, flashes of light can be seen on the various Stations in the room. It seemed to have followed an order: From the left of the first row up to the right, the left of the second row to the right, and so on.

"The others beside me already has their Badge already.. This means that.. I failed."

"I failed.. Thankfully, I can still take the tests of the next 3 days.."

"It came back! I succeeded!"

Waves of cheers, disappointment, and so on filled the room. Seeing this, the female proctor didn't stop them. It's their accomplishment after all.

"Interesting.."

The female proctor saw the grade recorded on Lugh's Array-95 points. It is similar to the note function of smartphones. You add a note, and then the other will be able to see it too.

Lugh also saw his Potion, Token, and his grade. He's not that surprised that he got 95 points. The exam itself takes into account the Alchemist's foundation when it comes to Alchemy, the knowledge of Recipes, the skills, and so on.

Clap! Clap!

The female proctor clapped twice before she got the attention of everyone again. Due to the Examinees being well-disciplined, the room returned to silence.

"Those who didn't pass can now leave. As for the ones who passed, I'll fill you in about the stuff about the Alchemists."

One by one, the examinees who had failed left the room. It didn't take a while before the ones who are left are those who had passed. Not long after, the female proctor began speaking.

"First of all, congratulations on gaining the Alchemist identity. You will.."

Upon gaining the Alchemist identity, one would gain many privileges. Among those privileges, the ones that stood out the most are the following:

1. Being able to rent out the Alchemy Tower's Alchemy Rooms as well as its tools.

2. The monthly supplies that one would get according to their Alchemist Rank.

3. Being able to choose to work in a formal job at the Alchemy Tower.

4. The Missions that one could do after becoming an Alchemist.

5. Backing.

Thanks to the Exams just now, they were all granted the Mortal Rank. Of course, there's still the sub levels Low, Intermediate, Advanced, and Peak. As for the Blue, Black, Earth, and Sky, such sub levels doesn't exist.

There's also the monthly supplies. Even though some Alchemists doesn't formally work at the Tower, they still give it out in half. Only when you work with them full-time will you receive the full portion.

They will also have the Missions that one could only get if they're an Alchemist. This is similar to the freelance jobs in Planet Aquamarine.

Next is the formal jobs. Just like back in Aquamarine, jobs are important in this Planet. When you work at the Alchemy Tower, not only would you be able to gain access on their internal Alchemist privileges, you'll also be able to gain many more things such as research funds if you're doing a research, the increase of Alchemy experience since you'll be able to work on many rare materials more, and so on.

Lastly, the backing. As long as you're an Alchemist, no one would easily offend you. Offending an alchemist that could only be found in 1 out of 100 people will be the deterrent.

"Having said that, Darwin, Albert, Chester, and Aaron."

'Huh?'

Lugh was confused, as to why he got called, but he continued to listen.

"If you are willing to work in the Tower, you'll be promoted straight ahead to a Division Leader, along with a specialized contract."

"Division Leader? They are comparable to Blue-Ranked Alchemists?!"

"Prodigies.."

To work as a Division Leader, one needed to be a Blue Ranked Alchemist. Meaning, they can make S Ranked Potions already.

"No way.. I know Chester Swain and Aaron Lensdayle, but there are 2 more dark horses here?"

'They found out about my skill with just the Crushing Realm Potion? They are good..'

Yes, Lugh can now be considered a Blue Ranked Alchemist. With his S- Rank, he can now create S- Panaceas. At S- Rank, his success rate is at 40%, which can be considered as good. As for S and S+ Rank, it's at 30% and 20% respectively. He couldn't create SS- Ranked and above Panacea as of the moment.

'The levels of the Alchemists of my World, it's just two to three levels below the current Alchemists of the Zerg World..'

"I'm sorry, but I don't have any plans to work here as of the moment."

"The same goes for me."

Chester and Aaron spoke out. As the children of the 2 prominent Alchemy families, they chose to take the responsibilities on their house instead of the Tower. Still, it's not like someone didn't agree.

"I accept the offer."

Darwin, the other dark horse besides Lugh had accepted the offer.

"I'm sorry, but I also don't have the intention to work here for now.."

Hearing this, the female proctor seemed quite stunned. Even the other examinees were stunned. Division Leader. Even if they are Blue Ranked Alchemists, they still need to work hard to get that position. He's been given by it almost free, yet he didn't accept it?

"Is that so? I see. Well, there's no forcing you."

In the end, the Alchemy Exams ended without a hitch.

***

"Hum.. Our date.."

After the Exams, Lugh headed out of the Tower and is now going back to the inn that they were staying at. Before this, he claimed his monthly supply that is enough to create 10 sets of Crushing Realm Potion. He got 10 because all he asked for were those basic Spiritual Materials. If not for that, he'll only be able to get 3-5 sets of rarer Spiritual Materials.

With those Materials, he made a total of 6 Crushing Realm Potions. He sold 4 of them to a Potion Shop, an Atelier. As for the other 3, he'll try to auction them at an auction house.

Anyways, he earned a total of 8 Gold Coins thanks to that. Take note that the rushing Realm Potion is a special potion recipe, or else the 10 basic Spiritual Materials would only be able to net less than 1 Gold Coin.

'The Tower's generous for giving us the monthly Materials..'

He was thinking about those lines when suddenly..

Swooosh!

An invisible thorn was aimed at Lugh. It contained the Power of S+ Rank as well, but it didn't have much lethality. Instead, it was made to knock off the target's consciousness.

Clang!

<Savior's Armament> formed partially at Lugh's neck, completely blocking the needle. As a counterattack, Lugh manipulated the shadows of that man and made 2 spikes, which pierced both of his feet.

"Argh!"

After that, his own shadow completely devoured him.

"Fighting! there's a fight in the city!"

The guards rushed at this place, but in this crowded place where many people are running away from the source of the fight, Lugh was nowhere to be found.
