Solo Leveling: I’m an Ice Elf with a Nano Machine!

Chapter 1

By the time I woke up from the accident, I found myself lying in a bed of snow. Strangely, I didn't feel cold. In fact, I felt quite comfortable with the temperature.

[Temp: –70°C]

“Mn...?”

I was slightly startled when a tab showed how cold the surroundings appeared. Still, I kept my cool since I felt this scenario was a little familiar.

Pushing myself off the snow, I looked around. As expected, all I saw was nothing but white, coupled with a strong gust of freezing wind.

This made me wonder what kind of body I had to not feel an ounce of coldness in this environment. But before I could look down at my arms, that hologram prompt appeared again.

[Scanning complete. Displaying your parameters.]

[Species: Ice Elf.]

[Strength: 7, Agility: 18, Dexterity: 15, Magic: 10.]

[Status: Concussion.]

Along with that game-like status bar, it showed me what I looked like in a 3D model. I raised my eyebrow, looking at the features I now possessed.

I now had snow-white hair, pale blue skin, blank glowing white eyes, and, more importantly, long ears, which I instantly recognized to be from a fantasy creature.

“I’m an elf? Wow, crazy.”

It seemed like I had transmigrated into an elf after getting hit by a truck. To top it off, I had this AI-like thing inside my head.

Realizing all of this, all I could say was that I wasn't that surprised. Having read all those isekai novels before seemed to be of help in my current situation. I was calmer than I thought I'd be if I found myself in another world.

But this was perfect. With a calm and collected mind, I could tackle things I wanted to know easily and with as few problems as possible.

First, I needed to know what this thing in my head was. Although I had an idea, it was still best if I got the answer from the entity itself.

I thought for a bit on how to interact with it. I wasn't much of a talker even in my past life, so it took me quite a while to construct a small sentence.

“Uhm, hello. What are you?”

That was all I managed to say. I waited for the response, which came a few seconds later. A robotic, emotionless voice rang inside my head.

— Greetings. I am your AI companion. Ready for input.

Such a short and cold introduction, but it was enough. I got all the answers I wanted to ask in that short sentence.

‘Ah, okay, so it’s not a system...’

At first, I suspected this hologram appearing out of nowhere to be produced by that infamous system. But I guess what I had was not that.

A bit sad, given that I did not have the same deus-ex-machina level cheat like those protagonists I knew of, but it was still better than none. So I comforted myself.

Besides, how useful can an AI be? Probably more than what I expected. It might not be as heavenly-defying as those systems, but it is surely useful in its own way.

“Okay. Anyway, can you show me what happened to the previous host of this body?”

With the first question more or less answered, I proceeded to the next one. Now, whatever the result outcome, it will determine how I’ll trek this new world I’m in.

[Initiating Brain Memory Recall Protocol.]

[Scan complete. Display retrieved memory?]

The result was given so fast that I was left wondering how fast this AI processing speed was. Anyway, I accepted the prompt, and immediately a set of memories was injected into my mind.

Scene playback of what seemed to be events days prior to my awakening appeared. There were groups of elves hunting for food, nothing suspicious.

But something happened when the hunt was about to end. It seems that this body got into a heated discussion with one of the elves and got into a fight.

The enemy seemed to be moving slower, no, actually, this body was just moving incredibly fast during the fight. But his strength was too weak to do any damage to the other party.

Although he’s fast, once he got caught, one slam in the head was enough for him to lose consciousness and possibly die, which prompted my soul to transmigrate.

Now, this is what I’m talking about. If I didn’t know this, I would’ve probably gone back to the elf’s camp blindly and possibly met with my murderers.

Now that I know this, I think it’s best for me to go solo for now, gather more information about the world, and get stronger by any means necessary so I won’t get beaten up so helplessly like that.

“Ah, right. How bad is the injury in the head? Is there any way to heal it?”

Instead of hearing the robotic voice, all I got was a prompt again. This guy doesn't talk too much, huh? But I like it. Just following my orders without fuss.

[Auto-Healing Mode Activated. Proceed with automatic recovery?]

“Wow, AI can do self-healing too? You’re pretty cool, no?”

— As of this moment, all I can do is heal your physical injury.

“Oh really? Still amazing though. And it doesn’t change the fact that you can heal. Anyway, go for it.”

[Recovery in progress. Estimated time remaining: 1 hour.]

I immediately felt my head slightly lighter than usual. But to be on the safer side, I laid down and waited for the recovery to finish before moving.

I looked up at the sky. Well, I can’t even see the sky; all I see is snow being blown at an insane speed.

Anyway, acting like I do see a clear blue sky, I muttered to myself, “I got isekai-ed, huh? Should be pretty fun.”
