Soul Land: Bibi Dong Is My Martial Soul

Chapter 14: Xiao Wu

Chapter 14: Xiao Wu

Looking at the first-year dormitory in front of him, Su Mo couldn't help but feel speechless. The dormitory was massive, filled with rows of beds—about forty to fifty in total.

Aside from the working students, who were all mixed together regardless of grade, every other student stayed in dormitories separated by year.

Nuoding Academy didn't have that many students; each grade had only one class, with around forty to fifty students.

Su Mo had the urge to complain about the living arrangements in the Douluo Continent's academies.

He didn't mind that so many people were crammed into one large dormitory, but at least there should be some separation between boys and girls, right?

Even if gender wasn't considered, shouldn't they at least be divided by age?

Having first- and second-graders share a dorm was one thing, but having fifth- and sixth-graders of both genders stay in the same dorm was just asking for trouble, given the natural impulses of young people!

In the world of Douluo Continent, because of the supernatural power of soul force, people's physical development was especially early, particularly among those with soul power.

Ignoring the others in the dormitory, Su Mo chose a bed in the farthest corner, laid out the new bedding his aunt had bought for him, and then left the dormitory.

Su Mo planned to visit the academy's library to read some books, as that was the only place that held any appeal for him.

He didn't care much about anything else.

On his way to the library, Su Mo noticed a lively little girl with a pink outfit bouncing toward him, her mood evidently cheerful. The small braid on the back of her head swung from side to side as she moved.

Xiao Wu!

The moment Su Mo saw her, he immediately recognized her identity.

She was the main female character from the anime, a soul beast with a cultivation of 100,000 years who had taken human form.

To be honest, Su Mo's first thought upon seeing Xiao Wu was whether he should find an opportunity to eliminate her. Even if he couldn't acquire her 100,000-year soul ring, obtaining her 100,000-year soul bone would still be a significant gain!

However, this thought quickly passed through Su Mo's mind and was dismissed.

His moral compass, shaped by his previous life, prevented him from committing such a heinous act.

Even though he knew that Xiao Wu was a soul beast and that, as a soul master, it was his duty to hunt soul beasts, the image of Xiao Wu from the anime had left a lasting impression on him—she was just a little girl. Su Mo couldn't bring himself to see her as a mere animal.

Moreover, Su Mo had to consider whether Xiao Wu had already caught Tang Hao's attention at this point.

Tang Hao was someone Su Mo had a lot to say about.

If you say he was a good father, he barely cared about Tang San when Tang San was with him, often making Tang San take care of him instead.

But if you say he was an unqualified father, after Tang San left Holy Soul Village, Tang Hao seemed to be secretly protecting him wherever he went.

Whether it was Shrek Academy, Slaughter City, or Spirit Hall…

Tang Hao always seemed to be in the shadows, guarding Tang San, until he crippled one of his own limbs and finally stopped, choosing instead to stay with the Blue Silver Emperor.

By then, Tang San had gained enough strength to protect himself.

So, Su Mo knew that with Tang Hao secretly protecting Tang San, Xiao Wu would definitely be in Tang Hao's sights as well.

No matter how Tang Hao viewed Xiao Wu, making a move against her would be a risky endeavor!

"Excuse me, can you tell me which way the dormitory is?"

While Su Mo was observing Xiao Wu, she also noticed him. She immediately stopped and politely asked him for directions.

"It's that way. Are you a new student this year?" Su Mo replied with a smile, surprised that Xiao Wu would ask him for directions.

"Yes, I am. Are you?" Xiao Wu nodded, her big eyes filled with curiosity as she looked at Su Mo, seemingly intrigued by everything around her.

"Yeah, my name is Su Mo. I'm a new student this year too, so we'll be classmates!"

Su Mo smiled.

The Xiao Wu in front of him clearly seemed like someone who had just entered human society, curious about everything.

He wondered where she had managed to get her hands on a work-study student's certificate.

But when he remembered that Xiao Wu was actually a 100,000-year soul beast, Su Mo understood. Just because she appeared innocent and cute didn't mean she was naive; her true age spoke volumes!

"I'm Xiao Wu, like in 'dancing.'"

"You still haven't told me which way the dormitory is!" Xiao Wu said playfully.

Upon hearing Su Mo introduce himself, Xiao Wu quickly followed suit.

"The dormitory is that way!" Su Mo pointed in the direction of the dormitory behind him.

"Got it, thank you, Su Mo!" Xiao Wu cheerfully acknowledged before walking past Su Mo, heading toward the dormitory.

"Xiao Wu, wait a minute!"

Su Mo quickly called out to her before she got too far.

"Is there something else?" Xiao Wu turned back, looking at Su Mo with a puzzled expression.

"Are you really going to the dormitory like that? The academy doesn't provide bedding. If you didn't bring any, how are you going to sleep tonight?" Su Mo explained after stopping her.

He had suddenly remembered this detail and thought it was worth reminding Xiao Wu.

Although Su Mo wasn't staying in the work-study student dormitory and couldn't stop Xiao Wu from meeting Tang San, he still felt it necessary to prevent the two of them from sleeping together under the same blanket.

No other reason—it just didn't sit well with him.

What kind of situation is it for a man with an adult's soul to sleep next to a little girl?

"Oh, we have to bring our own bedding?" Xiao Wu frowned, realizing she hadn't considered that.

"You don't have any? Well, you can go buy some," Su Mo suggested.

"Right, I can just buy some!"

"Thank you, Su Mo! I completely forgot about that!" Xiao Wu perked up immediately after hearing Su Mo's suggestion.

Instead of heading to the dormitory, Xiao Wu decided to leave the academy to buy some bedding first.

"Xiao Wu is really cute when she's still young!"

Watching Xiao Wu happily bounce away, Su Mo couldn't help but grin to himself.

He also mentally congratulated himself for his intervention.

With that, Su Mo continued on his way to the library.

...

Later that evening, Bibi Dong's divine sense once again came to the area outside Yu Xiaogang's pavilion.

At this hour, she was certain that she wouldn't see that annoying Tang San anymore!

But before Bibi Dong could enter Yu Xiaogang's room, she noticed a figure standing outside the door, seemingly waiting without knocking.

"This man…"

"It's him…"

Even though the figure was wearing a hat, Bibi Dong immediately recognized the man, her beautiful eyes flashing with realization.

It was Tang San's father, the Haotian Douluo, Tang Hao!
