The person behind Ye Hao quickly moved to shield him but Ye Hao stopped him.

The people who could follow Ye Hao to this floor were among his most trusted inner circle.

For instance, the person shielding him was Baozi. Baozi knew the room was Wei Ling’s to use, and today Long Qi was watching the club. Neither of them were loud. The guard at the door mentioned that Wei Ling had brought a young man with him. Baozi didn’t know him so he couldn’t say, but the noise was one of despair.

It was not Baozi’s fault he didn’t consider Zheng Tan. The guard had said Wei Ling brought a cat, but he had never heard a cat make sounds like that. He didn’t think a cat was capable of something like that.

Ye Hao held up his hand to stop him, so Baozi moved to the side. He kept his eyes on the room, careful of what could jump out.

As the door completely opened, the noise was heard on the entire third floor. The guards on either side of the hall felt the hair on the back of their necks stand on end. The glanced towards the source of the noise but quickly diverted their eyes. It was the boss’s business and it was best for them to stay out of it.

Ye Hao and Baozi quickly entered and closed the door. It was quiet on the third floor again, as if the shrieking never happened, but everyone on the floor couldn’t help but wonder what was going on in that room.

Ye Hao saw the cause of the noise the moment he entered the room.

On the sofa, sitting like a human, was a black cat. It had a mic in its arms. Thank God Long Qi had turned off the sound system, or else the sound would have been worse. It would have been amplified along with background music.

Someone else was lying on the sofa, probably passed out due to excessive consumption of alcohol. This probably was the young man Wei Ling brought.

As for Wei Ling, he was sitting on a chair next to the sofa with headphones on, looking like he was constipated.

Long Qi was sitting in the corner of the room. He had his elbows on his knees and was rubbing his temples. His other arm was holding his glasses. His sleeves showed holes and scratch marks.

Baozi knew Long Qi had just bought this suit recently. Apparently it cost thousands, and obviously it was not seeing tomorrow.

Long Qi rubbed his forehead. He felt the door open and looked up. Seeing Ye Hao and Baozi, Long Qi felt like a little kid seeing Santa. He jumped up from the chair and ran over to Ye Hao, saying, “Brother Hao, now that you’re here, I’m going to go check on the club!”

Ye Hao dragged him back into the room by his collar. Ye Hao still didn’t know what was going on, but by the look of despair on Wei Ling and Long Qi’s faces, it was not a pleasant situation. No one was going to get to run away.

After Long Qi explained what happened, Baozi asked incredulously, “It really drank that much? I have never seen a cat drink.”

“Now you have.” Long Qi nodded towards Zheng Tan.

Ye Hao didn’t say anything, but looked at Wei Ling. Wei Ling shrugged. He didn’t know what to do.

Ye Hao walked to the sofa and examined the cat. When he heard Wei Ling brought a cat, he knew it had to be the one that had caused the tsunami in the underground world of Chuhua. It was the black cat everyone was looking for.

No matter what Wei Ling had said, Ye Hao was positive he had been exaggerating. Now actually seeing the cat, Ye Hao was starting to think Wei Ling was understating instead.

This was probably the only cat ever who could drink and then immerse itself in another world singing its heart out.

Though Zheng Tan was drunk, he was still somewhat vigilant. It was a result of his days on the streets. He sensed strangers when the door opened, he had been singing absentmindedly ever since. Now that a stranger was standing in front of him, he had to take action.

Zheng Tan stopped singing and looked back at the person in front of him.

Man and cat stared at each other.

Ye Hao was examining the cat. Zheng Tan, who was not thinking clearly, was alert but at the same time lost.

The noise had stopped. Everyone in the room sighed out of relief. The shrieking was giving everyone goosebumps. Now that it was quiet again, they felt as if a weight was lifted off their shoulders.

After staring at the man in front of him for about half a minute. Zheng Tan managed to make sure he didn’t know the person. He threw his mic towards the man and walked away.

Ye Hao caught the mic, He was amazed, the strength with which the cat threw the mic was abnormal for a cat. If his reflexes were any slower, he would have been hit.

After getting all the upset feelings off his chest through singing, Zheng Tan was starting to feel tired. He wanted to sleep. In his haziness, he noticed Wei Ling beside him. Wei Ling had promised Mama Jiao to look after him, so he knew he would be fine even if he fell asleep right now.

The other thing that bothered Zheng Tan was that someone else was lying on the sofa where he was planning to sleep. He didn’t remember A Jin being there anymore. He sniffed the person. The scent was unfamiliar. The person was definitely not someone from the Jiao family.

Zheng Tan walked over, raised a paw, and knocked A Jin right off the sofa. Then he walked around. Feeling that there was enough room now, he curled up into a comfortable position in the middle of the sofa.

The room was dead silent. A Jin, who was kicked off the sofa, was still asleep. The room was carpeted, so he wasn’t hurt. Even if he was, he wouldn’t wake up because of how drunk he was.

Everyone in the room, including Wei Ling was astounded. .

Wei Ling knew this cat was stronger than most cats, but this was beyond his imagination. He doubted even his Master’s cat could do this.

As for Ye Hao, Long Qi and Baozi, they were formulating all sorts of theories.

A cat God?

An alien cat?

Satan?

A mutated cat?

Or was it a special weapon developed by some secret agency?

“This cat…” Ye Hao started, but trailed off mid-sentence. He looked at Wei Ling.

Wei Ling shook his head, “It’s a bit special, don’t tell anyone else.”

How the f*ck was this was ‘a bit’ special?!

Long Qi looked at A Jin then at his sleeve. If he knew this cat was so special, he wouldn’t have tried to take the mic. Now he was a suit down.

Ye Hao dragged over a chair and lit a cigarette. He smoked in silence, then asked, “So you think this cat could help with the thing.”

“Yeah. It’s just a thought.” Wei Ling nodded.

He had been watching the black cat and Long Qi ever since they entered the room. Wei Ling had his incentives to bring the cat. He wanted the to help the cat, but also for these people to familiarize with the cat. He trusted these people. He had basically grown up with Ye Hao. Baozi and Long Qi were among Ye Hao’s inner circle.

If the two sides knew each other, when he and He Tao were busy or out of town, someone would be able to help out if the cat got into any trouble. After all, they lived in the city. It was most likely people who were causing the trouble. If Ye Hao owed the cat a favor, the cat would have a strong ally in the future.

“Well, we would have to have the cat agree before anything can happen. That would have to wait until it wakes up. I already called its owners. Let him sleep tonight and we can ask tomorrow.”

Before tonight, neither Long Qi nor Baozi would believe the cat could help them. Now, they kept silent but were both looking forward to tomorrow.

“Another thing,” Wei Ling looked up with a serious face. “I hope everything relating to the cat never leaves this room.”

“Of course.” Ye Hao nodded and looked sideways to his people.

Baozi and Long Qi quickly said, “We understand, brother Ling, we won’t tell a soul.”

“Ok.” Wei Ling turned his attention to A Jin on the floor. He shook his head. “This kid is a friend of the cat’s. He has a band. All underage kids. Let them get some experience here if you can. Let them familiarize themselves with the industry and maybe learn a thing or two.”

He didn’t need to get into detail, Ye Hao knew what he meant.

“OK. Long Qi take care of that would you?”

“Alright.” Long Qi replied.

With all that settled. Wei Ling changed the subject to to Fang Sanye performing on the streets.

“So it could be beneficial for you to know this cat. Think about what Shaoguang group is doing now.” Wei Ling said.

Indeed, Shaoguang group was making big moves. This was what Fang Sanye did whenever he made a comeback.

Long Qi took A Jin out of the room. Baozi stood guard at the door. The only people left were Wei Ling and Ye Hao. Of course, the cat was there as well, sleeping on the couch.

The next day, Zheng Tan woke up. He shook his head. He was feeling sluggish. Memories of last night were flooding in. He berated himself for behaving like a crazy cat last night. He was an idiot. Thank God the Jiaos were not there to witness the fiasco. They would have thought their cat had gone crazy.

Ye Hao prepared a big breakfast for them to deal with their hangovers. Wei Ling and A Jin sat at the table. A Jin had wanted to go to the hospital first, but Long Qi said someone already went over to help out. He told A Jin to have breakfast first.

Zheng Tan stood on the table, he had Wei Ling bring him whatever he wanted to eat.

Wei Ling felt the cat had became a “ye”. He had to be served, even at breakfast.

After the meal, A Jin left to check on his friends. After all, they all performed together.
