Superman’s Saiyan little brother

Chapter 154: Three Lucky Ones and One Unlucky Fellow

"Jonathan! Robert's injuries have just healed, why would you hit him?" Martha, seeing Jonathan's action, hurriedly grabbed him and questioned.

"I didn't use any force." Jonathan looked at Martha with a wronged expression, defusing the tense atmosphere with their banter.

Thus, the Kents and the Danvers temporarily set aside the concerns of Robert's injuries and Clark's disappearance, gathering for a meal to celebrate their reunion.

Alex: ??? Is someone missing?

Meanwhile, it was a tough time for Peter Parker and his friends. They waited three days without seeing Kara and Robert return to school. Without a way to contact them and fearing the sudden appearance of the Shadow Ninjas, they dared not show up at school.

Although the Shadow Ninjas were only a minor annoyance and exhaustion for them, posing little threat with caution, the same couldn't be said for their ordinary classmates and teachers.

If the Shadow Ninjas really appeared at school, even a casual ninja throwing star could injure or even kill their classmates and teachers!

Therefore, Peter Parker and his friends stayed around the school, changing locations daily, avoiding crowded places for fear of a sudden ninja ambush, reminiscent of their previous encounters.

However, during these three days, Peter Parker and his friends weren't entirely without gains. Specifically, everyone except Peter had their share of discoveries.

First was Lorna. After settling down, Pietro, out of curiosity, turned his attention to Lorna's chicken talisman.

Pietro initially wondered not if Lorna could gain powers similar to the chicken talisman's upon losing it but whether he could retain the chicken talisman's power after unlocking his own abilities with the rabbit talisman, or even develop new powers through the chicken talisman.

After witnessing Robert's and the Martian Hunter's battle, Pietro wouldn't mind having more superpowers. However, unfortunately, Pietro was disappointed. After obtaining the chicken talisman, he indeed exhibited its powers, identical to Lorna's.

But Pietro didn't develop new powers due to the chicken talisman. Without it, he retained only his speed abilities, not acquiring the floating power similar to the chicken talisman's.

Meanwhile, Lorna, having lost the chicken talisman, seemed suddenly stimulated, awakening her own superpower in a blink, similar yet different from the talisman's, like controlling the movement of everything around her…

After experimenting, Pietro and Lorna turned their attention to Barry Allen, curious if he, now possessing the rabbit talisman's power, could awaken his own superpowers.

The experiment's outcome slightly disappointed Pietro and Lorna, as Barry also gained speed power. Though slightly different from Pietro's, this indicated that they weren't the only special ones…

"It's my turn! It's my turn!" Seeing Pietro, Lorna, and Barry develop new superpowers from the talismans, Peter Parker got excited.

Even though Peter already had superpowers from a mutant spider bite, his thoughts mirrored Pietro's. After witnessing Robert's and the Martian Hunter's battle, how could Peter not desire more superpowers to enhance his own?

Peter even thought that with greater strength, he wouldn't be so exhausted by a few Shadow Ninjas and might have had a chance to help Robert against the Martian Hunter…

Unfortunately, Peter was quickly disappointed. The talisman worked in his hands, but he didn't gain new powers after losing it.

It seemed only Pietro, Lorna, and Barry were special, unable to trigger hidden powers within the talisman to activate new superpowers.

"Probably because one person can only have one superpower!" Pietro patted Peter on the shoulder, consoling him softly, "Look, I didn't gain a second superpower either. Neither could Lorna or Barry. You already have superpowers. If you were to awaken another, wouldn't that be unfair to us?"

"But it seems Robert and that green-skinned monster have more than one superpower…" Barry weakly raised his hand, offering a different perspective.

"You already said that green-skinned is a monster. Robert fought that green-skinned for so long and even drove him away. That makes Robert a monster too. How can we compare to them?" Pietro spread his hands, laughing.

"Robert is our classmate! How can you call him a monster?" Lorna glared at Pietro, displeased.

"That's something Kara can say, but you…" Pietro instinctively retorted but stopped midway upon seeing Lorna's unfriendly look. Habitually subdued, Pietro chose to remain silent, not finishing his sentence and quickly changing the subject.

"Robert and that green-skinned monster have more than one superpower, but it seems they didn't gain their powers from talismans. They're different from us…"

"Right! Robert told me he's different from me. His isn't really a superpower but a form of cultivation!" Peter recalled Robert's teachings, stroking his chin.

"Cultivation? What's that?" Pietro's eyes flickered with confusion.

"Cultivation refers to ascetics who enhance themselves through physical or mental discipline," Barry, ever the knowledgeable one, explained to Pietro.

"Ascetics? That does sound like Robert. He's always rigorously training. He even meditates during class…" Peter nodded in agreement, softly saying.

"So he's been meditating all this time! No wonder…" Lorna nodded with understanding, her eyes reflecting thought.

"Now that we've all awakened superpowers, do we still need to carry the talismans? They attract Shadow Ninjas, seriously disrupting our normal lives!" Pietro glanced at Lorna, who was muttering to herself, then caught her warning look and quickly shifted his gaze to the talisman, changing the subject once again.
