The Copy Mage

Chapter 43: Gains

As soon as he gained the scroll he began to crawl away desperately, feeling that the pressure had become too much for his body to bear.

The room, that was imbued with the intent of the principle, sensed that Damian had chosen a book, and in the same way as the others, pushed him out of the room.

Damian was unable to resist the pushing force and in the same way as Milo, he was launched out of the room and sent crashing into the rest of the students, just as the gates began to close.

He suppressed the urge to vomit blood and or lose consciousness, and with the help of Milo and Cole stood up.

"Each of you now have a skill and a cultivation method that you have chosen and will not be given this opportunity again unless you rack up enough contribution points and gain mine or the principle's approval" informed them the librarian.

"You may leave, and your class representative should be waiting outside to dismiss you from your first class gathered" stated the librarian giving permission for them to leave.

While saying so he gave Damian a curious glance and couldn't help but be excited to see the growth of Damian who had made two unique choices.

The class scurried back through the large library to the exit of the library and they all held tightly onto the method and skill, that they gained, as if it was the most valuable thing they had ever seen.

Which it was, those methods if sold could by mansions, manors and most things of monetary value, but those who were smart would know that wealth wasn't enough to gain true power and strength was more important.

Ivan was waiting patiently for what was now over two hours and seeing his students exit the library and stand before him, he was excited to ask around about what methods and skills they chose.

However, as soon as they reached him, most of the students walked straight past him and left him with Damian, his friends and a few other students who weren't brave enough to ignore their class representative.

But it was what was to be expected as Ivan had less or similar status within the academy than ordinary teachers, despite his strength, because of the lack of trust that the academy showed him.

Added to the unfair treatment that most of the students felt, he wasn't respected by most of those in his class who knew he had no authority over them.

But instead of being disheartened or upset by how his students disrespected him, he still had a joyous and excited expression as he walked past the 9 students that still stood there and checked all the skills and methods that they had gained.

He couldn't physically open or touch them, as that would be in violation of the academy rules, but from appearance alone, he seemed to be able to weirdly gauge their rank.

He stood before Damian for a long while before walking back to where he stood waiting.

"All of you have done well and just like the others, you may leave if you please and don't have to attend class gatherings that occur weekly. But if you do need any help I am available to help as your class representative" stated Ivan.

"Please get your cultivation lesson timing from the learning department, like the others students should have already done, and I would also recommend for you guys to go to the specialisation department where you can also join classes for specific classes or roles" advised Ivan to his class, dismissing them.

All the students were tired and excited to begin to learn their method and skill, and rushed off to return to their residence.

Just as Damian was about to leave, he was suddenly halted by Ivan.

"If you ever have any breakthroughs or learn anything from those methods, be sure to show your class representative" whispered Ivan as he walked away.

Damian nodded and walked away, but had no intention of getting too close to Ivan who, despite the way he treated him, felt slightly suspicious.

Damian, along with his friends, returned to their residence, with most of the students glaring at them hatefully, filled with envy.

However, none of them paid heed to the other students and after entering their residence, the group of friends all entered their rooms without a word, all wanting to check out their methods.

Cole's method was an E:7 ranked body tempering method, that had an elemental affinity with earth, and had picked an F:2 ranked offensive skill.

Both of his choices required a strong and sturdy body that had an elemental affinity with the Earth element and suited Cole perfectly.

While Julia and Matilda had also chosen and E:7 rank cultivation methods, but they were rare internal cultivation methods that had an elemental affinity.

Julia's obviously had the water elemental affinity along with the F:2 Ranked Movement Skill she chose.

And Matilda's had chosen a cultivation method that was linked to wind as that was the closest thing that the academy had to her sonic scream Soul Spirit, and had also chosen a movement technique.

Meanwhile, Milo had chosen an offensive technique known as Hawk Slash that was F:1 ranked and had also chosen an E:6 Internal Cultivation Ranked Method.

However, unlike the rest of the methods chosen by his friends, Milo's cultivation method wasn't linked to an element but was linked with beasts.

Beasts also had the ability to cultivate, but in a much different way to humans. They would absorb energy from the atmosphere without a cultivation method to strengthen their bodies and some beasts have elemental affinities and also having ranging talents.

However beasts had an advantage over humans was that they were born with much stronger bodies that would also strengthen rapidly through constant battles and eating other beasts, but most beasts have much lower intelligence.

All of them were immersed in their methods and were all beginning to read through the beginning of their methods apart from Damian.

"What the hell am I meant to do with these" he exclaimed as he looked down at the small scroll and the shabby dark book in his hands.
