The Curse of Time (Harry Potter Fanfic)

One year to change a relationship

Someone must have wanted this place to be a bathroom, but looking around, I couldn’t find the person.

As I walked quietly, I felt someone approaching me. I didn’t even have time to turn around before my clothes were removed, and I was thrown into the bath.

I wasn’t prepared, and I almost drowned before feeling a pair of arms lifting me, pulling my head out of the water.

Cough Cough

"Breathe calmly, sorry for surprising you."

I recognized this voice; it belonged to Mary.

"You know, you could have used a different method."

"Yes, but I wasn’t sure if you’d agree to take a bath with me, so I had to force it."

The whole time, she held me like I was a pillow.

"I’ve told you before, Mary, you can’t force a relationship on someone."

"You didn’t accept me, but you didn’t refuse me either, so I’m still waiting for your answer. And the longer time passes, the more stressful it gets. You could take my feelings into account a little faster."

"Sorry, but as you know, I have more than a thousand parallel thoughts, and if the vast majority of them aren’t in love with you, then there’s a good chance our relationship won’t work. In my mind, those who are in love with you are trying to convince those who aren’t, but some are too stubborn, and others don’t understand anything about love. Give me a year, max, and I’ll give you an answer. You can try to ask me out or whatever, but you must not force anything."

"Deal. I promise that by the end of the year, you’ll be my girlfriend."

In my head, I laughed because the odds only give a 30% chance that I’ll be in love with her within a year, and by the end of the school year, it would only be 5% in theory. But it’s better not to tell Marie.

Then Marie told me about her training and how they were impressed by her reflexes.

I’m sure some are not only impressed by her talents but also by her beauty. Even my parallel thoughts that aren’t in love with her know that she is one of the most beautiful girls at this school, but it would be a mistake to get into a relationship just because of appearance.

This reminds me of a song about a guy who regrets choosing the girl who was beautiful instead of the one who didn’t smile.

Moreover, some of the older ones with the most wisdom are suspicious of her because they believe that Mary is hiding a secret that would change my perception of her for the rest of my life.

Marie spent the entire bath cuddling me as if we were already in a relationship. Just this once, I’ll let it slide, but after this, I’ll set some boundaries.

The next day during lunch, a group of owls attracted attention because they were carrying a huge package that looked like a broom. They stopped in front of Harry before flying away.

I saw Harry exchanging a look with Professor McGonagall. I’m pretty sure the broom in front of him is a Nimbus 2000, which would be perfect for a Seeker.

Harry and his friend Ron left because they knew they were attracting attention. I saw them having a hostile conversation with Malfoy, but I didn’t care. Hermione, who was going to lunch, overheard and told me that Malfoy had challenged Harry to a duel in the trophy room.

Anyone could tell it was a trap, but the two of them accepted, and despite Hermione’s warning, they still plan to go, talking about a sorcerer's honor they don’t even have yet.

I told Hermione to let them be; they’ll face the consequences of their actions.
