The Emerald at Hogwarts

Chapter 626, Locket

It was daylight, and Hogwarts ushered in its first morning without Dumbledore. The bright sunshine seemed to be mocking everyone.

In the twilight cabin, Ada, Fred, and George were curled up on the sofa. The twins woke up one after another, but neither of them woke up Ada. They wanted her to sleep a little longer.

But in fact, Ada had woken up a long time ago. She just didn't want to open her eyes and welcome the sunshine of the new day.

Lifting off the blanket that George covered herself with, Ada went to wash up absentmindedly, and followed Fred and George absentmindedly towards the familiar yet unfamiliar castle.

Before entering the foyer of the castle, I heard the shouting voice of Gryffindor's explosives genius Seamus Finnigan, who was quarreling with his mother.Mrs. Finnigan wants to take him home, while Seamus wants to stay for Dumbledore's funeral.

Mrs. Finnigan was not the only one to have this idea. The Parvati twins left without breakfast, and Zachary Smith also left the castle with his father early in the morning.

Indifferent to this, the three of them walked straight to the auditorium. They had not had breakfast at Hogwarts for a long time.

Although all classes were suspended and all exams were postponed, the atmosphere in the auditorium was depressing. Everyone was eating breakfast quietly, and low sobs could be heard from time to time.

The throne-like seat in the middle of the staff table was empty, and Professor McGonagall was sitting in her seat, chewing the food on the plate like a puppet. Her hair was neatly combed, but her eyes were bloodshot, obviously she had stayed up all night.

There were two other empty chairs, one for Hagrid, who was not in the mood for breakfast, and the other for Snape, who had killed Dumbledore.

Ada looked at the empty chair, thinking that Snape must be equally sad at the moment, and not only could he not show it, he might have to force a smile and celebrate Dumbledore's death with the Death Eaters.

After a while, the mail arrived.A hundred or so hard-working owls flew into the Great Hall, and the Hogwarts couriers flew around the dining table, looking for their respective owners, and then dropped letters or newspapers on their laps.

The contents of today's letters are all the same, they are nothing more than asking about the school's situation, or offering to take everyone home.

George borrowed a copy of the Daily Prophet from a student. The front page was Dumbledore's obituary, followed by the news of the severe damage to the Ministry of Magic and the death of Thicknesse.

Overnight, the good situation took a turn for the worse, and people were reminded of the fear rooted in their memories, and of the period known as "the darkest decade in the wizarding world."

The auditorium was filled with mourning, except for the long Slytherin table. People at that table were talking quietly. Some people were even so excited that their eyebrows almost flew out of their faces.

After breakfast, Ada and the twins went to the school hospital to visit Bill.

Bill seemed to be in good spirits. Although his scars were shocking, he did not give up on himself because of his disfigurement. Instead, he comforted his mother, saying that these scars were medals of his bravery.

Fleur beside the hospital bed fluffed the pillows to make Bill more comfortable. Then, Fu Rong picked up the dinner plate and fed the food on the plate to her boyfriend's mouth. She was extremely virtuous, completely different from the delicate and charming person before.

The green food on the plate didn't suit Bill's taste, so he stopped eating after a few bites.Fleur put down the vegetables and picked up the tender beef. Ada even suspected that the house elf just put it on the fire to simmer it before bringing it up.

But even with such tender beef, Bill ate it with relish, while Ada and the twins looked on and raised their eyebrows.

This...will the Bill family no longer have to open fire in the future?

While Bill was enjoying his meal, Ginny, Harry, Ron and Hermione also came to the school hospital together. They first paid attention to Neville, and then walked to Bill's bedside.

Facing the teasing looks in Fred and George's eyes, Ginny didn't show any coyness at all. Instead, she took Harry's hand generously and declared her sovereignty.Ginny wasn't shy, but Harry blushed.

At this time, the person who stood up to save Harry was the kind-hearted Ada. She stretched out her soft hands and gently took Harry out of the school hospital.

"Uh...thank you." Harry said as he stood at the door of the school hospital, lowering his head to straighten his collar.Harry felt that if he continued to stay in the room, he would be burned to death by the twins' fiery eyes.

Thinking of death, Harry's mood instantly hit rock bottom, and he remembered that Dumbledore died in front of his eyes, falling from the high astronomy tower like a big broken doll.

Ada didn't say anything like "treat her well". Feelings are a matter between two people, and the less interference from other people, the better.

Of course, if the handsome guy dares to mess with Ginny, Ada will break his legs without hesitation.

"Yesterday you and Dumbledore left school together. I want to know where you went?" Ada asked directly. She wanted to know if the Horcrux was in Harry's hands.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't tell you, Ada," Harry whispered, the same words he had used to reject Professor McGonagall the night before.Because Dumbledore once told him that he could only tell Ron and Hermione what they had experienced.

Ada was not angry, she asked: "Is this Dumbledore's order?"

After seeing Harry nod, she continued: "You just need to tell me one thing, did you go looking for Horcruxes yesterday?"

Harry raised his head suddenly and looked at Ada with stunned eyes.Suddenly, Harry's eyes returned to calmness. He had also heard about Ada's story at school, and it was normal for her to know about Horcruxes.

"Yes, we went to look for Horcruxes." Harry said dullly, and he told Ada everything about his experience with Dumbledore last night.

A cave in the sea, a magic-killing poison, the terrifying Inferi, and Slytherin's locket.

Hearing this, Ada raised her eyebrows. With this, four Horcruxes had been found, and she was one step closer to completely defeating Voldemort. But when Harry took out the locket from his pocket, her heart fell to the bottom.

The locket is fake. Not only does it have no pattern decoration, it doesn't even have the gorgeous "S" mark unique to Slytherin.Harry then handed Ada a folded piece of parchment.

Unfold the parchment and read:

To the Dark Lord

I'll be dead before you read this

But I want you to know that I discovered your secret.

I stole the real Horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as possible.

I risk my life in the hope that you will be killed when you meet your opponent.

RAB

"Fake, we only got fake Horcruxes." Harry said, "If it weren't for those potions, Professor Dumbledore... he... might not be dead."

Harry was much taller than Ada, so it felt strange to touch his head, so Ada patted him on the shoulder to comfort him.Apparently, Dumbledore hid his injury from Harry, just as he did from everyone else.

RAB, RAB, Ada repeated this name repeatedly. Who could this initials be?
