The Gamer's System

Chapter 247: Overthinking

[Information: The time limited quest - "Taking out the Weeds" have been cleared.]

[A random skill is now being selected from the ones owned by the Blood King. Please wait…]

"Wait how many skills does he even have?" Zeke thought to himself' never giving this any serious thought because the skill would simply be chosen at random.

[Congratulations! You have earned the skill – Blood Transfer]

[The information is now being generated…]

[Skill Name: Blood Transfer]

[Rank: None]

[Skill Type: Passive Consumption]

[Information: The wielder is able to revive any fallen ally with the use of his own blood. However this will be at the cost them to gain the same curse of the Blood King – being unable to use both Chaos and Order. As a tradeoff, any being receiving this resurrection will gain a tremendous amount of physical strength and would be immune to most cases of death.]

[Information: The first two creature who gains this will be an exception. Aside from the attribute boost, they will not suffer the same curse of the Blood King. Allowing them to make use of both [Chaos] and [Order] energy.]

[Information: The Blood King himself is conditionally immortal. By using the skill however, he shortens the timer of his lifespan by a year.]

"Okay that sounds like a fair skill." Zeke said as he looked at the other details connected to the skill.

[Resurrection Limit: 200/200]

[Special Resurrection: 2/2]

"That's  a lot of resurrections. I guess being an elf does have a huge advantage when it comes to this." Zeke thought to himself, knowing that elves do have a longer lifespan compared to the other inhabitants of Mythos.

"Okay so basically I've got 200 more years to live if this was a normal life. That's not bad. I mean this body has been pretty worn out by me so surviving that long is already a miracle in itself." The gamer then proceeded to the other notifications produced by his other quests.

[Information: The time limited quest - "Monster Extermination" has been cleared.]

[The halberd has been upgraded to "Halberd+1"]

[50 points will be distributed to all status points.]

[A 10% overall damage increase is also added whenever the gamer is in use of the halberd.]

Upon seeing this, there was a thought that came across Zeke's mind. One which thrilled him because of the possible implications that it had.

"Wait can I fuse [Death's Void] with the halberd?" The gamer said with a  wide grin worn on his face.

The idea never came across his mind before because the halberd ever only comes out whenever he enters the form of the [Blood King]. Making it a weapon which only existed within certain bounds and conditions. Meaning, it wasn't a weapon that he could always wield.

"I mean I do have the option of simply turning into the [Blood King] each and every time but, won't that place some kind of punishment on me? Hmmm..." Zeke thought about it long and hard.

No matter how powerful the form was, it was still a fact that it was a curse. Thinking long and hard about it, he wasn't even the [Blood King]. Zeke was only a vessel which took its form and thus, the same benefits he enjoyed could also bring him some dangerous consequences.

"System show me the details on the debuffs I receive by taking on the [Blood King's Form]."

[Understood. Generating data…]

[Skill Name: The Curse of the Blood King]

[Effect - Activates the Blood King's Form]

[Form Rank: Ultimate]

[Debuff Information: The gamer is unable to use both Chaos and Order energy.]

"Yeah, I know about that part already. But what is the consequence on the frequent and consistent use of the form? Putting into account the time elapsed whenever using it?"

[There is currently no data on the question asked? Do you wish for the possibilities to show up instead?]

"Yeah that works just as fine."

[Understood.]

[Reviewing data please wait for a few minutes…]

"If the punishment is what I think of it to be, then I may as well just take it. That'll do me more good than harm and it'll possibly hasten the speed of all that I want to do."

[The results have been generated. Do you wish to see them now?]

[Yes]

[Information: There are two possible debuffs which the gamer could receive. They are as follows:]

[1. The rapid reduction/siphoning of the gamer's lifespan. Depending on the frequency and the duration of use, it is possible that the curse would have this adverse effect.]

[2. The decaying of the gamer's soul. If this happens then the gamer will be unable to use the skill "Soul Transfer" upon death anymore.]

[Additional Information: These may reveal themselves individually in the future or may simply come at the same time.]

"So everything boils down to whether or not I'm ready to die huh?" Zeke stared at the ceiling for a long time.

There was only one goal for him. He simply wanted to destroy all the gods. There was no plan for what would happen after as, he thought that everything will simply fit into place once that happens.

"After that I should just die right?" He furthered - thinking that no purpose would come once he accomplishes his goal.

He thought that existence would simply be hollow and painful at that point. After all, there would be nothing else to live for if he transcended the very beings that created everything.

"Ahhhh this is so gloomy! Okay let's move to the next mission rewards first."

[Information: The time limited quest - "Sweeping Out Darkness" has been cleared.]

[The random units are now being generated by the system…]

[You have obtained the following units:]

[Two - Horned Imps x3]

[One - Horned Slime x1]

"Wait what? A slime that has a horn? The hell was wrong with that world?"

[Thee - Horned Obelisk x2]

[Three - Horned Harpy x2]

[Four - Horned Fallen x1]

[Four - Horned Justicar x1]

"Damn there isn't even a single five horned among them." Zeke said as his luck attributes do not work on mission rewards that are given.

He didn't sulk over this for long. The creatures were already strong in their own merits and, considering the fact that they were from the Blood King's army meant one thing. That some of them would make use of the [Energy of Order] instead of [Chaos Energy].

"And that would be you, and you." Zeke said. Already finished reviewing the creatures. Having two types of [Order] attributed monsters. Namely:

[Three - Horned Harpy]

[Four - Horned Justicar]

At the moment the gamer did not have the equipment needed in order to properly provide for the needs of these creatures. Mythos was also lacking in the energy they needed but, that doesn't render them entirely useless. In fact, Zeke was already cooking up a way for them to release the energy which he needed.

"I'll deal with these once I go to training later." The gamer mentioned. Thrilled to test things out without knowing that, he was about to reach a level where an underprepared Pier wouldn't be able to hold a candle against him.

Thus he hastily proceeded to the last reward. The one requiring him to save a certain percentage of inhabitants within the continent.

[Information: The time limited quest - "Savior of the Demons" has been cleared.]

[Aeros' horn is now added to the Gamer's Inventory.]

"Annnd that takes care of that! Man to think I'd have four high paying quests in a single day. The system must really be liking me a lot these days." Zeke mentioned as he opened his [Inventory] and looked at the information regarding the horn.

[Name: The King of the Sea's Horn]

[Grade: SSS]

[Item Type: Consumable Material]

[Information: The horn thrown by the king of the sea into the depths upon pledging allegiance to the Blood King – both as a sign of respect and as a sign of total surrender. It is said that, the horn grew in power as it reached the very bottom of the sea. An area which Aeros himself has never reached.]

"Well that history sure made this thing look even more valuable." Zeke said. Knowing exactly where to use the item.

With this, the gamer was finally finished sorting out his rewards. Zeke stretched his body out, took a quick bath and groomed himself.

Of course he also did this everyday even though there was nothing but fighting for him to do. This wasn't a habit he did while he was on his real body. But, for some reason, he got fond of proper grooming which was probably caused by the genes of the original owner of the body.

"I better go to the dinning room before Heron gets angry." Zeke mentioned, remembering his promise to the [Dragon Morpher] that he would eat on time.

There was a smile worn on his face. Not because he was finally going to have breakfast, but because he was going to train non-stop after it.

"This'll probably be one of my last meals here on Helios." Zeke mentioned.

"I never thought about that before." He furthered, without a shred of being sentimental about it. Simply shrugging off the thought as he continued walking through the halls.

Death. Life. Eating. Talking. Taking care of his body. Walking. Fighting. Most of the things that life had to offer was already mundane and dull to Zeke. He was only living for the sole purpose of attaining his goals. No more no less.

He thought about how this may have been caused by [The Gamer's Mind] but, even without it, he knew in himself that this was a state he would soon reach.

"A dead man walking." That was the perfect description for his state and yet, even before his own thoughts could consume him, he already reached the dining area.

Sylph, Morpheus, Heron, and Allesiah were all there. They all looked at Zeke with a smile on their face and at this point, all of the gamer's worries seemed to have vanished. He felt his heart warming up at the sight of his comrades.

"Who am I kidding." He thought, smiling back at them as Allesiah came close to him.

"I'm still alive."
