Amelia and David's smiles stuck to their faces when they passed each other a look.

Although Jennifer was intelligent and obedient. She would be rarely rebellious if she didn't like something, yet for quite some time, her behavior took a? drastic change.

Before she went abroad, she would already know all of their words, nodding her head. Afterward, she just changed into a new person.

"Umm… Jennifer, you know that mother and father will want the best for you.." paying the emotional card here, Amelia spoke in the motherly tender tone.

As Jennifer's eyes fell on her mother's face, somehow it melted automatically. For how long can she resist saying no to them? "But... you aren't thinking out of my perspective mother.."

"Child, we have seen all the possible outcomes. This is the best way if you will marry Lucas and become Mrs. Smith." His mother's assured tone did not satisfy her. In response, neither did she shook her head, nor nod.

Rather, maintaining a stagnant expressionless face, Jennifer looked in some kind of conflict inside her mind.

Noting her change in expressions, this time Austin stepped ahead, to say in between the family, "I believe you should tell her the main thing instead of beating around the bush actually.."

Amelia and David's eyes averted to see the man who literally drew through their soul that moment.

Austin easily corrupted Jennifer via their talks. "Main point? This is the main point!"

"I'm sorry to say, Mrs. Taylor but I don't trust what you just said. You're asking her to marry Lucas but how did you both expect to do that? Since she is locked in this state?"

"Moreover, you both made your way to this state so easily and smoothly..... I guess this is only possible when Lucas Smith uses his contacts here to keep your track hidden."

He was brutal in his words, not intending to hide anything. At first, he was kept silent since this is something between the family.

But afterward, when he realized that Jennifer's parents wanted nothing but to pressurize her into this odd marriage, it made his blood boil.

How can a family, or parents wed their only daughter to the mafia king, whom they know isn't even loyal to their daughter at all!

Coming to an agreement with Austin's words, Hannah added the comment, "Aunt, I don't know but you guys must have talked with Lucas. But are you willing to make her mary Lucas Smith even after, knowing that? her life was put at stake because of his stupid stubbornness and name?"

Hannah was blunt in his speech, not leaving any stone to show that she does care about her. Primarily, they were silent because they are her parents but their actions defined something else.

Just merely because they are her parents don't give them the right to ruin her life so easily. At least, being her lover and her best friend, they have the right to prevent the disaster from taking place.

At this moment, Amelia and David were confused. Looking at each other, they knew that it is important to say something in favor of their words otherwise it might be too late for them.

'This guy knows more than that knows.. so sharp.' Amelia's eyes scan from top to bottom to stare at Austin when she said, "We know Lucas personally. He might appear as someone that looks like a bad guy. In real life, he really wishes to settle down with our daughter."

"True. Maybe his reputation has been already damaged by others? but everyone has the chance to start a new life, doesn't it?" David came in support of his wife but Austin didn't buy this type of lie anymore.

"If that is the case, why don't you let her at least date that man? Or.. if you guys have so much trust son in law, do? you want me to provide you with the proof?"

His eyes were raised when he said with much deeper meaning. Both the parents were thundershocked from top bottom. Neither did they react, nor give any explanation.

But Jennifer was surely done with this tit or tat for now. Rather, to ease the environment, she responded in between the two of them to settle, "Alright, l leave that. We don't have to go to such lengths."

"B-" Austin wanted to revoke but then he met her gaze..

Hannah too kept her hand over his hand to make him stop at this point, with the things still in their hand for now.

Because of the two girls, Austin finally shut his mouth.

When she got a signal from his side, Jennifer finally averted her gaze towards her mother who's at the bed. Taking her one hand and bringing it near her cheek she spoke in a much calm and soft voice.

"You are my mother and father and I know that you will decide which will be best for me.. but this time too, I want you to give me time."

"I will think about covering what you said, take all the measures in my mind, and will come up with the decision." Her words made all of them both happy except the two people who were feeling gloomy after her comment.

As expected, Mrs. Taylor stood over her toes and hugged Jennifer With a much tighter grip as her eyes were filled with a few tears of happiness, "I know I know that my daughter is so understanding that she will never refuse our wish."

"I only said that I will think but at the same time, I? want you to think about the same too… " Jennifer wanted to clarify further by the words herself.

'It will be a waste..' Only she knew why she said those words.

While Hugging her mother, her eyes revealed two friends who looked dull by her words. Their faces were filled with a gloomy expressions which showed their displeasure as well.

Even though she clearly told me she needs time, Jennifer tossed her friends a simple meaningful gaze of hers- Just wait and watch for my decision..
