The life of a Haughty Prince

Chapter 78

"It's really you….Atlas, my boy...you have grown… so big…." she said in surprise, touching his broad shoulders and muscles.

She kept touching all over his body, feeling up every muscle and fiber he had to offer and she didn't want to stop, roaming all around his back. As both of them were sitting down, face to face, beside the dead tomb.

Atlas didn't bother her antics, gazing at her from an upper angle. It was weird in a way as he was always looking up to her for so many years. She seemed tall, majestic and so charismatic in those times. Don't get it wrong, she still looks heavenly beautiful and her charm oozing like she was a god herself but more in a cute way if to speak.

He remembered the times when she would touch every part of his body during the healing process, after the hellish rigorous training.

'haha…..she hasn't changed, well… it's just been a month I guess, but it definitely felt like years, not being able to see you all.'

As he was gazing at her, reminiscing the moments. She gazed back at him, a sweet smile appearing on her lips.

"What?" Atlas asked.

"Your smile, it's the same...now I have no doubt you are my Atlas…"

Atlas didn't say anything, showing his left hand, showcasing the many rings attached to his fingers.

Amelia was confused for a second when a particular ring caught her utmost attention. Her eyes opened wide in shock..

"is that..?"

"Yup...it's the mythical aging ring…." He said with pride.

Amelia finally understood, putting all the pieces together. How he changed his appearance and physic to a teenage boy, how he dodged all the spies of King Henry which were spread all around the many countries but more importantly, the myth, the myth of the aging ring…

"so …that means, the myth was true…." She said in realization.

"Indeed, well…. it was a struck of luck that I found this ring laying around the royal vault."

"I see…."

Atlas wanted to talk more, ask about mom, Tanya, Anny, and her sister but a notification popped in front of him.

[Warning...High radiation level detected.]

Amelia also felt the purity of her charm slowly weathering away.

"Atlas..."

"Yeah, we need to hurry."

Atlas was still feeling weak but they needed to get out of here as quickly as possible, otherwise, the infection would also get to them for sure.

Amelia stood up, storing the ancient tomb in her storage ring, and covered her and Atlas in her white shield right away, as Atlas picked his mask up.

"Talk for another time then….Senior," he said, placing his mask where it rightfully belonged.

"Ha-ha, hurry.. junior…"

Both of them ran towards the exit and seeing Amelia who was the kind saintess herself ignoring the slumbering fairies like they weren't there to begin with. It cleared his suspicion.

He gripped one of the fairies, inserting her in his pocket.

'I want to save, at least one of you…'

Amelia realized he had taken a fairy but ignored it, thinking he may have just wanted a toy. In her mind, no matter how much he grew up and matured, the four-year-old child was still there.

From far away, Lily saw both Amelia and the rookie coming out and seeing the rookie was fine, waling with Amelia. She finally sighed in relief.

'Oh thank the lord….'

She let go of the lever she was holding. Her worried heart finally calming now. At first, she was doubting if something had really happened as she was taking more time than she thought.

'hmm…..why do they look so close…..I must be thinking too much. She's the Saintess. Her face is covered up already, in case he sees it.'

Atlas looked around, the crater where there was nothing but dark ash and sand, was now littered with pieces of rotten meat and long yellow arrows deepen down on them and more notably, the air, it seemed fresher, more breathable with the light green mist around them.

"What happened here..?" he asked in confusion.

"Well…..a lot happened…"Amelia answered.

'No shit, I guess a lot happened when I got knocked out…..oh right! The notifications!!'

Atlas activated his System right away. He remembered his notifications were popping like crazy before he got sucked out of the dark void.

'Well well well, have to thank him later when we meet again. I hope he didn't do anything shady to my system...wait… what does he mean my naming sucks. I have a great sense of names, fuck him....I hope he didn't hear that.

And, Eyes of Eternal? What's that?

System…..description on 'Eyes of Eternal' please.

[Eyes of Eternal: Upgraded version of all-seer, with its every aspect improved to a certain level with improved emotion sensor. These unique eyes can bypass any stronger opponents who are powerful than the user.

...well these would be handy.'

Slap!!

Lily slammed her hand on Atlas's back, the slap from an S-tier adventurer, printed on his back with the instant pain coursing all of his back. His body wanted to swing away, trying to lessen the pain even a little bit but a man had to be a man.

"You finally made it rookie, I thought for a second that you were dead….haha….now, let's g…"

Amelia came forth, stopping Lily in her tracks.

"I know you are in a rush for your brother Lily, but don't you need to say something to the Rookie."

"...."

".....wait, what's happening? And Lily, where's John? Is he ok?" Atlas asked in confusion and worry.

Lily wanted to haste to the headquarters right away, to finally take the potion for her brother but Amelia was right, there was something she needed to do first.

She turned to the masked rookie, her blue eyes filled with guilt which confused Atlas even more. Atlas wanted to say something when all of a sudden she bowed towards him, surprising Atlas even more.

"I'm really sorry…..we left you there….I was the one who called you and, and I was one to abandon you…."

Atlas was going to shout in frustration, not knowing what was going on when Amelia came near him, whispering the entire story behind, all the devastation around them and the reason why the nitty-gritty Lily was now, bowing towards him.

'ohh…..they left me when John's condition became serious, well….can't say more to that…she did what was required to save her family. I would do the same if Amelia or any other people close to me was in the same situation.

And, In case, I can just ...escape from there in no time, hurray to my teleportation skill. …..haha.'

"Don't worry Senior, you did what you needed to do as your own brother was in danger, so please don't think you did the wrong thing…"

Lily was a bit shaken from the response and looked at him in surprise, coming to a step closer.

"b..but, you could have di…"

"Please don't underestimate me, Senior. I may be new but I have my own ways to survive….." he answered, his tone alone showing how serious he was.

Lily didn't know how to answer such a response. She thought he would eat her out, blaming and scolding her as his life may have been in the line, cause why not? They just met. She wasn't someone close to him so that he would understand or care about her situation.

And if he had complained to the higher-ups about this situation where a black nominee was put in a life-threatening situation on his first day, her stars and possibly the blue dime potion could have been revoked altogether.

She gazed back at him, still not knowing what to say but…

"Th….Thank you…"

Amelia watched the scenery with a smile, she kinda knew what Lily was feeling right now. it must come as a surprise to be forgiven so easily but it wouldn't be that easy if it was another person altogether.

'He hasn't changed, has he?' she thought.

Clap! Clap!

"Well, that's that. Lily and I are going to the headquarters to submit this Tomb and get that potion, we would like to take you there but….you haven't got enough stars yet. So why don't you wait at the Healing station with John? We have more 'things'….to talk about." Amelia said with a wink, which only Atlas could see.

"Wait...Amelia, I am grateful for your help but if the watchers knew you came here, they will start a whole new spectacle to just restrain you." She said in worry.

"Ha-ha, don't worry, we have the prize, don't we? And I have something to talk to them about so don't worry." She said, with a hint of anger in her smile.

Atlas felt her temper rising a bit but didn't ask more, as they were meeting again and they both had much, I mean so much to talk about. From her being an Alibion Adventurer to the happenings in their kingdom and can't forget about Anny. He wanted to know where she was and experiment on his new improved teleportation symbol.

"ok….take care, let's know a bit more about each other when we meet again," Atlas said with a smile.

Amelia smiled, waving her hand.

"sure…" she answered.

Lily was again, feeling the vibe that something was there between the two but scoffed it off as she didn't have time with her brother getting more ill as they speak.

"Let's go Amelia….and again, thank you…" Lily said with a final bow.

They had already reached the collapsed guild house, near the gateway so without wasting any time, they entered signing him goodbye.

"haa…..I guess today is my lucky day, getting to meet Amelia, aaaa….I want to talk to her right now…..I miss her already, So I have to go to the healing station of all the Alibion adventurers. I guess I will wait for her, there. "

He searched for the images of the healing station, recorded in his system during the moment when the major info's about the monsters and other important details were forced into his brain.

"Oh there it is, wait for me John, let's see if you really have cancer or not." He said in a serious tone.

Zizz!!!
