The Porter is Secretly an SS-Level Hunter

Chapter 52: Portals (2)

Neban, once again, was using Siren as a blocker as one head was trying to bite him while he was holding back the other one.

Relying on his strength this time, Neban picked up his foot and kicked the monster away. The thing only moved back a few feet before coming towards him again.

'Keep him close, not push him away! We need to get his heart.' Siren complained.

If he were not holding the monster back again, feeling himself getting pushed back, he would have rolled his eyes at Siren's complaining.

It was not easy to get the monster's heart. Neban had to push the thing away if he did not want to get bit. This time, Neban opened his palm that held the weapon's handle as he pointed to the ground below the monster's body and used [Shadow Beam x2].

Cracks appeared before the ground caved in, taking the monster with it. The thing did not go that far down as half of its body was still sticking up. It was trying to crawl from the hole and free itself.

Neban did not give the monster time as he quickly stabbed Siren in the thing's throat. It was not deep as it was still alive, but blood was flowing from it.

The monster began to turn its body to pull out one of its front legs to grab the sword and pull it from its neck.

'Get the thing's heart while I take its blood.' Siren instructed.

Neban pulled out a dagger made with unknown material (that dropped from a high-level dungeon last year), grabbing the monster that was snapping both of its head at him as he hoped the thing could cut it.

He had to lean back while lifting the monster a bit as he stuck his dagger in its chest, happy that it worked, before starting to cut it open.

Everything was messy as blood fell on Neban's hand while a few drops were splashing on his clothes. The monster started to quiet down as it lost a lot of blood due to Siren drinking from it and Neban creating a vast wound.

Once Neban cut opened the chest wide enough, he dropped the dagger on his lap, rolling up his right sleeve before sticking his hand in the monster's chest.

He ignored the wetness of his arm and the grossness of what he was doing as he kept going until his hand touched the monster's heart.

Neban gripped it tight while his skin crawled with the feeling of it beating in his hand as he ripped it out. The monster's body fell as it had no heart to keep it going.

But surprisingly, the heart was still beating in his hand.

Neban almost, and it was close, dropped the heart from his hand because the way it kept beating, when it was not in the body, freaked him out.

'Good, pull me out and let me stab it.' Siren spoke.

Keeping a hold of the beating heart with one hand, Neban pulled out Siren from the lifeless monster. As he was getting ready to stab the heart with the weapon, Lorka finally moved.

The man appeared next to Neban out of nowhere, causing him to fall back while using Siren to cover any incoming attacks. But the man did not attack him, as he grabbed the heart instead.

Lorka was already moving back as he glanced at the heart in his hand before looking at Neban with glistering eyes, "How interesting that a human would rip out a heart. It only makes me want to play."

Then the man ate the beating heart, stuffing it in his mouth as he chewed it. There was blood coming from the corner of his mouth as he licked it away when he swallowed down the heart.

Neban held back from gagging as he watched the man devour the heart with a face of ecstasy. It was disgusting.

Lorka licked his fingers as he savored the taste before looking at Neban, "Let's play."

Once he spoke those words, the lights in the restaurant blew out, only leaving darkness. The dark was not bad as the moonlight outside was hitting the area, so Neban did not have a problem seeing.

The only problem was that Neban did not know where Lorka was and when he tried to use [Absolute Sense], it picked up nothing.

Neban was on his feet while he was gripping Siren, looking around as he waited for the man to appear. Then, his senses picked up on an incoming attack, but Neban was not fast enough to block it as a kick sent him flying.

His back landed against a table near the restaurant's entrance, almost sliding to the ground if he did not grip the table, with his free hand, to catch himself.

Lorka was already on him as Neban tried to straighten himself out. The man grabbed Neban's neck, pushing him back against the table behind him.

Lorka had a tight grip on Neban's neck as he tilted it back, so he could have a clear view of his throat. The man licked his lips, "I cannot wait to have a taste of your blood."

Neban glared at the man before saying, "Well, you will keep dreaming, then." He picked up his right foot and slammed it into the man's middle part.

Lorka dropped to his knees as Neban took a few deep breaths before swinging Siren, getting ready to slice the man's throat. But, Lorka grabbed his ankle, pulling Neban down.

Neban almost hit the back of his head against the table if he did not use Siren to push the table as he landed on the ground.

Lorka moved and grabbed Neban's shirt, lifting him as he stood on his feet. He proceeded to throw Neban across the room.

Neban would have hit against the other tables on the other side if he did not turn his body mid-air and used [Shadow Web] to catch him. His body slammed against the web, keeping him in place.

"I do love it when my meals prepare themselves for me," Lorka commented as he rushed over.

Neban quickly dismissed the web, causing it to disappear. He landed on his feet, raising Siren as he blocked Lorka's hit. The sword cut Lorka's arm as the man pulled back to let the wound heal.

Neban moved a few steps back until his back hit against a table. He grabbed the table as Lorka was already on him. Neban quickly used [Spatial Travel], causing the table and him to trade places.

Lorka hit the table, not having time to stop his movements as he growled. Neban snorted, trying to hold back a laugh because this was not the situation to laugh in. But, it was funny with the way the man hit the table.

Clearing his mind, Neban jumped on the table, kicking the man in the face with the added force from the jump. Lorka stumbled back as Neban used [Shadow Beam] on the man's right shoulder.

The beam passed through Lorka's shoulder, creating a hole. The man ignored his injured shoulder as he turned into bats before disappearing into the dark area.

Neban looked around, taking steps back as he moved towards the restaurant's entrance since the moonlight shone the most there. Once Neban was near the door, an outline of bats appeared on the glass on the ground.

The man was above Neban.

When he looked up, Lorka turned back into his regular form as he landed on top of Neban. They both fell to the ground as Neban tried to keep a hold of Siren when he felt his grip slipping from the weight falling on him.

Lorka sat on top of Neban, grabbing his wrist as he slammed his hands a few times until Neban had to let go of Siren; the glass was even cutting into his skin.

Smelling the blood, Lorka was looking at him with glistering eyes, "You should stop fighting it already, I will have your blood no matter what."

Neban glared at the man with venom in his eyes as he was getting ready to use his legs to kick the man away. But, Lorka sensed his move as he leaned back while bringing his legs up and pushing his right foot, hard, into Neban's ribs.

Neban's face scrunched up in pain as he tried to hold back a cry. He will not give the man the satisfaction.

"So stubborn," Lorka commented as he pushed his foot deeper into Neban's ribs, trying to get a reaction from him. But the human was giving him nothing. "And boring." Lorka clicked his tongue.

"And you talk too much." Neban gritted out, breathing through the pain. He was thinking of a plan to get out of the man's hold. Neban was probably going to have to use one of the big moves that left him exhausted.

Lorka opened his mouth, showing off his sharp fangs as the moon hit against them, adding more shine to them. The man was bending down, getting ready to sink his fangs into Neban's neck.

Neban was moving his head, giving Lorka a hard time.

The man growled, pulling Neban's arms above his head as he grabbed both of his wrists with one hand, freeing up the other. Lorka gripped Neban's chin with his free hand, pulling it to the side to hold him in place.

The man was bending down once again but did not get far when an arrow struck Lorka in the chest, causing him to let go of Neban and fly back.

Neban was free.
