The Prodigies War

Chapter 1653: Who is Ignorant?

Red dress like fire, black hair like a waterfall.

This was a stunning woman who was covered from head to toe in a devilish aura. Her skin was like the purest white cream. In her beautiful eyes drifted wisps of dream-like luster. As the hem of her long, red skirt fluttered, it made her look extra graceful and delicate.

Her beauty was glaring, like a flame that would burn a sense of amazement into the mind and soul of anyone who saw it.

Her temperament, however, reminded one of a snow mountain. Chilly, ethereally lofty, and not to be blasphemed.

Even though Lin Xun had seen his fair share of beauties over the course of his life, he couldn’t help but be stunned.

He just hadn’t been able to imagine that the unpredictable Thousand Feather Sword Flower who could kill without batting an eye was actually…a woman!

“You seem very surprised, little friend?”

As the woman in red opened her mouth, a gentle voice came out like music to the ear. It brought a touch of spring-like warmth to her cold and distant temperament.

“Naturally. But I finally understand why I cannot guess what’s on your mind at all. They aren’t wrong to say that a woman’s heart is like a needle in the sea,” scoffed Lin Xun.

It had truly caught him by surprise that the demonic flower, whom he couldn’t conceal his wariness for, was actually such a striking cold beauty.

“You will understand why I have to do so in the future, little friend.”

The red-clad woman smiled faintly. Her cherry lips curled up in a bright arc that revealed a glimpse of her pearly white teeth. It was a smile that would take anyone’s breath away.

Lin Xun gathered his focus and slowly shifted his gaze to the distant horizon. “Fifteen minutes will be up soon.”

The red-clad woman twirled her hair around her long, delicate fingers, seemingly pondering something.

……

The Sun Pass was expansive despite being only a stronghold of the Great Emperor Pass. It could compare to a small world that made the stars circulating its vicinity look insignificant.

Time slowly trickled by.

The expression of Gu Liangqu, who had been waiting there since he had stepped out of the teleportation array, gradually became covered in frost.

The atmosphere, in turn, became tense.

“What an impertinent young man he is. Both Daoist Xing Feng and Nie Tu had been sent to invite him over, and he’s still not coming?” commented an expert coldly.

“Could it be that something unexpected has happened?” Some were anxious and doubtful as the bloody death of Old Practitioner Qiu was still fresh in their minds.

Although Lin Xun was a junior, who dared to really treat him as one?

“With Lord Gu Liangqu here, how can he still have the guts to continue his murderous behavior?”

“In my opinion, he has no remorse at all. I propose that he be severely punished this time!”

Quite a few indignant voices rang out.

This caused Gu Liangqu’s face to become increasingly cold and indifferent.

Ling Xiaozi, on the other hand, was inwardly anxious. If Lin Xun offended Gu Liangqu beyond saving, then the consequences...

Then the consequences might not be something that Mister Shen could resolve!

“Ling Xiaozi, as you can see, I have already given him enough face and opportunity, but your little guy obviously has no intention to reciprocate it!” Gu Liangqu’s words were rigid, his eyes glowing intimidatingly. “As such, I can only make this trip in person.”

With that, he took a step forward and teleported away.

When the other old monsters saw this, their spirits were lifted, and they quickly followed him.

“Quick, stop them. There must not be any more killing!” Ling Xiaozi was alarmed.

He knew very well that Lin Xun was much more strong-willed and proud than he appeared on the outside. There was no way he would bow down to Gu Liangqu!

“Go!” Madam Mu, Shun Ji, and the others couldn’t sit still either and immediately jumped into action.

……

“Here they come.”

Standing before the bronze palace, the red-clad woman opened her mouth. Her hair danced in the wind while her stunning face revealed not a hint of emotional fluctuation.

As soon as her words dropped—

Boom!

The distant void suddenly exploded, and the force spread like a tidal wave. And then, a majestic figure appeared out of thin air like a deity.

He was dressed in hemp clothes and wore his long hair down. The eyes in his ancient and resolute face were as vast and deep as a raging ocean. It was none other than Gu Liangqu.

His eyes instantly landed on Lin Xun, and as soon as they did, strong disdain surged out.

Just a small supreme True Saint. So what if he has created his own dharma art?

In front of me, he is as powerless as an ant!

But when Gu Liangqu glanced at the red-clad woman next to Lin Xun, his pupils constricted. His intuition told him that this woman was not to be messed with.

And when he saw Xing Feng and Nie Tu being suppressed on the ground like two gory messes, his face quickly darkened, his eyes burst with a horrifying light, and his heart trembled in rage.

He had purposely instructed them not to use force when delivering his order to Lin Xun, but apparently, things had gone south!

Immediately after, the void clattered and trembled chaotically as one old monster emerged after another.

Soon after, cries of alarm resounded.

These old monsters all saw Xing Feng and Nie Tu who were pinned to the ground in miserable states. Their faces paled uncontrollably.

Is Lin Xun really reckless and ferocious to this extent?

He isn’t taking Gu Liangqu lightly because he is clearly disregarding him completely!

When Ling Xiaozi, Shun Ji, and Madam Mu arrived to be greeted with such a scene, their hearts all sank. The worst possible situation had happened after all.

At this point, even if Lin Xun was in the right, no amount of reasoning at all would be able to persuade Gu Liangqu to let it slide!

However, they were all puzzled by the presence of the red-clad woman. Who is she? Also another terrifying existence that has been sealed in the Ice Snow Leaf?

“Lin Xun, Lord Gu Liangqu has come to preside over the situation and mitigate the effects caused by the death of Elder Qiu, but what about you? As a junior, all you have done is act on your reckless bravado. You are too rampant!” shouted an old monster furiously.

“Young man, you have already made a big mistake. Take my advice: hand over that Ice Snow Leaf and admit your wrongdoings to Lord Gu. Or else, I fear there will be no place for you in this Great Emperor Pass,” said another grimly.

“We don’t mean to make things difficult for a junior, but look at what you’ve done! You killed Elder Qiu, and now you’ve heavily wounded Daoist Xing Feng and Nie Tu. Have you any regard for the Great Emperor Pass at all? Have you any regard for us old men who have been guarding the frontline for the Ancient Wasteland Domain?” admonished someone angrily.

Hearing these accusations and reprimands, Lin Xun couldn’t help but smile, his gaze biting cold. “When Old Practitioner Qiu came to deal with me, I didn’t see any of you stand up to administer justice, which is fine by me, but now you want to condemn me in his stead? Don’t you think…this is very shameless?”

The faces of the old monsters instantly clouded over.

“I respect you all as seniors. You have indeed done many great deeds for the Ancient Wasteland Domain by guarding the frontline, but if you plan to indiscriminately bully a junior like me, then I’m sorry, I won’t treat you as seniors anymore!”

Although Lin Xun’s voice was calm, it was loud and impactful.

A black-robed old man said coldly, “Do you really insist on being unrepentant even in the face of death and offending the whole Great Emperor Pass?”

Lin Xun didn’t hide his disdain as he snorted. “You lot? Representing the whole Great Emperor Pass?”

As he said this, he saw Ling Xiaozi, Shun Ji, and Madam Mu frequently sending eye signals to him. They all looked anxious and worried.

“Seniors, there is no turnaround for today’s matter. These old fogeys really think I don’t know that their true motive is the Ice Snow Leaf. Since they’ve decided to be shameless, I won’t give them face either,” Lin Xun declared his attitude to Ling Xiaozi’s group through voice transmission.

Hearing this, the latter all sighed in their hearts, as helpless as they were anxious. If today’s matter expanded out of control, then the consequences would be very serious.

Suddenly, Gu Liangqu opened his mouth, and his icy voice overshadowed the entire area:

“Young man, Elder Qiu had been stationed here for 7344 years, during which he had executed sixty-one foreign quasi-Emperors and saved the lives of many fellow disciples. Such a character died brutally at your hands and not the enemy’s, and you still think that you are innocent?”

These words instantly brought a sentimental look on many faces. This was probably what they called ‘when the hare dies, the fox grieves.’

Gu Liangqu’s eyes erupted with an intimidating light as his voice grew colder and colder, “Moving on to Xing Feng and Nie Tu right there, in terms of contributions to the Ancient Wasteland Domain, how can a junior like you compare to them? But you heavily wounded and humiliated them!”

The field fell silent as even Ling Xiaozi’s group was unable to refute this.

Because what Gu Liangqu had said was the truth.

However, Lin Xun sneered, “Are you saying as long as you have high merits, you can be lawless and bully me at will? What kind of bullshit is that?!”

Gu Liangqu’s face sank. “Without us sweating blood on the frontline, how could you juniors thrive peacefully in the Ancient Wasteland Domain? I don’t care if you are ungrateful, but if you are also so cold-blooded and selfish, rampant and arrogant, then what’s the use of your existence?”

Lin Xun snorted, “Isn’t it just a competition of merits, then? Fine, I may as well tell you that, in this Conflict of the Nine Domains, I, Lin Xun, suppressed the other eight camps and enabled the Ancient Wasteland Camp to ultimately turn the tide. Thanks to this, we won an unprecedented victory in a long history and washed away the shame of our predecessors. Now, let me ask you, what do you have to compete with me in terms of merits?”

Boom!

His words were like a sudden bomb exploding in the field. Many old monsters looked appalled and incredulous.

The Ancient Wasteland Camp had won the recent domain conflict?

This was something they had never learned before this!

The most shocking thing was that, according to Lin Xun, this triumphant victory was inextricably linked to his contribution!

They didn’t dare to believe it for a moment.

Shun Ji, Madam Mu, and Ling Xiaozi, on the other hand, believed Lin Xun’s words as soon as they came to their senses. They were well aware of how strong Lin Xun’s battle prowess was in the Supreme True Saint Stage!

A young man of such caliber definitely had been a peerless leading figure in the Nine Domains Battlefield!

Noticing the change in the atmosphere, Gu Liangqu’s eyes narrowed, and then he laughed coldly, “It’s indeed the greatest delight that the Ancient Wasteland Camp won this Conflict of the Nine Domains, but the credit certainly can’t be taken by only one person... Young man, you’d better impose a limit on your boasting, or else when your lies are dismantled, won’t it be a slap in your own face?”

Many old monsters’ gazes flickered, and they couldn’t help but nod in agreement.

Seeing this, Lin Xun sneered contemptuously. These old fossils might have high cultivation and battle strength, but they simply had no idea about what had happened in the domain conflict and yet wishfully thought that he was bragging…

Who, exactly, was the ignorant one here?
