The Supreme Level Up System

Chapter 354 Change Of Mind

In the end, it took a full day for them to reach the base of the Heradins clan. Still, once that happened, Celion just made an ice platform fly, and then they had the chance to refund the gear that they got. It had been pretty fun to see the face of sheer terror of the people of that place when they saw Celion from a distance. As for him, he was too sleepy to care.

"Woah, you guys pulled it off so fast…" Sauros said. "He also looks like a pretty chill guy waiting for you this much."

"He is just too lazy to complain," Aion said. "Anyway, do you have any documents that mention anything about the creation of this floating city?"

Sauros furrowed his eyebrows when he heard that. Aion's goal was obvious, but it was impossible since the city required the mana of hundreds of them for several weeks to make the runic circle work. Still, then he heard from Seris that Aion, in the past, was basically the one who created that massive ice tornado that lasted for more than one thousand years.

"If it is you we are talking about, you might pull it off… but I am not sure other people will like it if they hear that we passed secret knowledge to an outsider, even if it is someone who we are friends with," Sauros said and then he looked at Seris. "In order for that not to become an issue…"

"Forget about it," Seris said and then punched the stomach of her brother. "I will find a way for myself to do that. There is no one around smarter than me, after all."

"Guh," Sauros groaned in pain. "You are twenty-seven years old already… act your age, please."

"I guess I will leave it to her then. I know that she has been agonizing for being unable to help with the fights," Aion shrugged.

"Urgh, don't make me recall those feelings of uselessness," Sauros said and then massaged his neck. "Anyway, visit us again. You can do that often with your ridiculously moving speed."

Aion nodded, and then the group jumped on Celion's head again. He could surf even faster on the ocean. Still, Aion wondered how he would do that once they reached the continent… they would have to cross five hundred kilometers of desert, after all.

The trip back lasted three days, and since they didn't have anything to do, Arlana and Seris began to study the runes and come up with several theories about how they could create a floating island. That was their first step, and the second was to make it move.

Aion thought that asking Celion or Fenhair to carry a giant island was an option, but he decided not to voice it. They were a bit of troublesome allies, but it was better not to treat them like that.

"Hah, I hate this weather…" Celion said and then sighed.

Aion never thought that he would see such a colossal creature sighing. Celion was truly someone that broke all the norms when it comes to legendary creatures.

"Hey, grandpa. You guys changed the central part of the desert into an oasis, right?" Aion asked. "How did you do that exactly?"

"It wasn't us that did that, but our ancestors of many generations ago," Arc replied. "At that time, they used magic relics powered by their mana, but over time, their presence alone kept improving the conditions of the environment… it seems that some of us are willing to help you with that. If you are going to wall the capital, some of us agree to help in working as a source of energy for that."

"Hmm… I wonder if it is possible," Aion rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"It should be. Their souls are basically large concentrations of mana, just like I used your mana orbs to fuel those runes. I should be able to do it with the souls," Seris said. "This gave me a good idea… but I need to think about it for a while longer."

"All right, let's do that and transform the fallen capital into the frozen capital… I wonder if Fenhair will hate that," Aion furrowed his eyebrows.

Once they arrived there, Aion presenced another staring contest between Fenhair and Celion. Naturally, just like ice and fire, their natures wouldn't allow them to get along. Despite that, Fenhair didn't mind about walling the fallen capital with ice.

"I am not weak-minded enough to let some little cold bother me," Fenhair said.

That pissed Celion, and that was something since he would rather not do anything too tiring, and getting heated up was very tiring for him. In any case, they worked on writing the runes, and then Aion put some souls in each of them after he confirmed that he could take them back whenever he wanted. It was quite something… ten souls per rune were enough to create and maintain an ice wall that was ten meters long and three hundred meters tall. Still, to complete all that, they would need tens of thousands, if not more than one hundred thousand of souls, to completely freeze the city.

That seemed like a waste, but once he confirmed that he was serious about protecting the fallen capital, a lot of the Millerians began to give him their mana.

The class Paladin received 100 experience points.

The class Archer received 100 experience points.

The class Priest received 100 experience points.

"... Why the sudden change of mind?" Aion asked.

"It seems that they realized that you actually care about the history of your ancestors and are truly willing to protect the place," Arc explained.

"I didn't know that I looked that untrustworthy," Aion shrugged.

Aion was quite surprised that all of his tier one classes were getting experience now, thanks to the souls… he thought that since he was receiving mana, all of the experience would go to magic classes, and he thought that his uncle was just an exception, but that wasn't the case.
