Chapter 1289: Kill Him!

But now, someone was trying to break this security, this order in the black market! This act was tantamount to cutting off the business of this black market. As the saying goes, cutting off a person’s source of income was akin to killing their parents! So, more than a dozen burly men, armed with all kinds of weapons, quickly stepped out from the surroundings and mercilessly fired at the monster without a word of warning!

The weapons of these burly men were not very effective. The combat armour on the cubed-shaped monster managed to absorb most of the power from the bullets. The only bullet that was effective was an electromagnetic vibration bullet which hit the monster’s chest, knocking him three steps back. However, it did nothing but leave a burn mark and a hole the size of a bowl on the monster’s chest.

The monster let out a hysterical roar from the depth of his throat. He pulled back the steel cable, then swung it horizontally. The steel cable came whirring, carrying blood and shattered bones on it!

It sent several gunmen closest to the monster flying. The unfortunate guy standing at the very front was even split into two halves from his waist. Several people behind him flew back like bowling pins and slammed into the wall behind. They slowly slipped down, leaving behind trails of blood on the wall.

The inertia of the steel cable did not diminish even after taking the lives of five people. It lashed onto a pillar on the side and circled several times around it. The muscles on the arm of the square monster swelled as he tugged at the cable hard. The chandeliers tinkled loudly as the whole building shook!

Borrowing the force from the pull, the monster leaped forward. After softening his landing with a roll, he dashed into the midst of the bouncers and started swinging his arms about in a frenzy. Everything his hands caught, be it a person or an object, was flung away! Some were thrown out of windows and fell down from the building in dismay.

All the bouncers had collapsed on the floor groaning in the blink of an eye. Their situation did not look too good.

An old man sitting in an electric wheelchair rushed out of a corridor at the side. Although his eyebrows had turned white, there was a sense of ferociousness in them. They gave others a feeling that the disability in his legs was not a burden to him at all, but a kind of battle scar that was worth showing off with pride!

Of course, even more eye-catching were the eight Cyborg slaves he brought along. And these Cyborgs were not the kind that could only run errands like the original Old Charlie.

They were fighters of the Alliance taken prisoners from the frontline by the Empire. They had undergone the deepest level of transformation of having their personalities completely erased, but their deadly fighting skills had been preserved.

These Cyborgs relied on large doses of stimulants to maintain a highly-stimulated mental state, forgoing the need to sleep. Thus, they only had a lifespan of 10 years. The muscles on their faces were twisted and distorted, and their eyes were blank, almost turning completely white as if they were mentally retarded. However, don’t judge a book by its cover. These eight slave Cyborgs were the most terrifying killers and were all madmen. As long as their master gave the order, they would rip their arms off and eat it without any hesitation.

Evidently, the hidden boss of the black market had realised that the situation had gone out of control, and could only rush here in a hurry.

“Bloody excellent, Grant.” The old man stared at Grant who was still in the box, and uttered each word calmly.

For some reason, Grant shuddered when he heard the old man’s seemingly emotionless words. Only then did he recall some legends about the old man in front of him who was nicknamed the “Crippled Wolf”. Even the square monster stayed where he was, growling but not daring to move, because one of the slave Cyborgs was aiming at him with a gun shaped like a gourd.

He felt more threat from this gun than from ten other ordinary guns combined!

That was because it was a liquid nitrogen gun normally used in space docking battles. Usually, a docking battle was launched for the purpose of seizing the opponent’s spaceship. Flaming weapons were too destructive — what if they accidentally ignited some plants or flowers that could cause an explosion?

Therefore, in order to ensure that the spaceship would still remain intact afterwards, the best type of weapon for a docking battle were sonic weapons, as they would cause minimal destruction to the surroundings. But because sonic weapons could easily be rendered ineffective by targeted measures, the number one preferred weapon for docking battles were actually liquid nitrogen guns, a type of weapon which could instantly reduce the temperature in the surroundings to hundreds of degrees below zero.

Even though the square monster was powerful, it could not withstand the low temperature of hundreds of degrees below zero. Moreover, this gun was an AoE weapon, and he would find the attack very difficult to avoid, considering his size.

Crippled Wolf seemed to have taken full control of the situation, but the defeated Grant did not show much panic. He merely smirked at Crippled Wolf and said, “Do you think I’m a fool, Crippled Wolf?”

“Not before today, but you sure look like a fool right now,” Crippled Wolf remarked coldly.

Grant sighed and said as he glanced at the square monster, “You always claim to be extremely knowledgeable, but you can’t tell what model this biological weapon is?”

To tell the truth, after Crippled Wolf hurried over to this place, 90% of his attention was not on his dead subordinate – as long as he threw some bones out, countless dogs like the dead auctioneer would flock to him, so why would he care about the death of one such dogs – but on the 5 Pi element particles that weighed 18.9 g in total!

His brows furrowed upon hearing what Grant said. He gave the monster a closer scrutiny, and when he did, his expression changed dramatically.

“A genetically modified soldier? The way he’s modified…this looks like the style of the Andromeda War Zone. Could it be….” muttered Crippled Wolf hesitantly, with a hint of alarm in his voice.

“You do know your stuff,” laughed Grant. “So who’s the fool now?”

Crippled Wolf had a really ugly expression on his face. His facial muscles twitched non-stop. Grant continued, “You always say that if a rat yawns in the Northern District, you’ll know about it. Well, it seems like your information network isn’t working so well today. Now think, Crippled Wolf, why did the auction start ahead of schedule?”

A young man beside Crippled Wolf shouted angrily, “That’s because some bigwig is visiting the base, so Mungo ordered for a clearance. You’re saying that information is false?”

Grant replied with a grin, “The one talking to that bastard Mungo right now is just my lord’s deputy. That foolish man thinks he’s managed to establish another connection, but a disloyal double-dealing bastard like him don’t deserve to speak to my lord personally! My lord was bored and he heard that there’s a fun place here, so he came here to look around, but surprisingly, he actually found something that tickles his fancy. You should be honoured that my lord values your goods! Bring them here immediately!”

Crippled Wolf’s face was stiff, as if he was wearing a mask. After a while, he told the young man beside him, “Go deliver the things to him.”

There was an immediate uproar. A low voice suddenly came from behind Grant. It seemed that someone had said a few words to him. Grant immediately narrowed his eyes and said, “Crippled Wolf, my lord wants YOU to bring the things to him!”

Crippled Wolf was a cripple in a wheelchair. How could he deliver the things himself? But he cast his pride away without any hesitation and, with an expressionless face, struggled to get off the wheelchair. He then crawled on the ground, twisting and moving his body like a pathetic worm. Not a shred of his previous intimidating air remained.

At that moment, the square monster suddenly went crazy again. He rolled forward!

No one would associate his movement and body shape with the word agile. Instead, he bulldozed forward like a road roller and caught the Cyborg who was aiming at him with the liquid nitrogen gun. He headbutted the Cyborg, kneed him, lifted him up high, turned him around several times, and threw him to the stairs! The sound of the Cyborg’s spine rupturing was clearly and audibly heard. The monster then stomped on the Cyborg a few times. The Cyborg died on the spot.

Crippled Wolf showed no reaction, nor did he dare to show any reaction.

Grant smirked. “No one can point a weapon at Test Subject No. 1 and live.”

While he was speaking, the Cyborgs around Crippled Wolf were slaughtered by the monster! The Cyborgs would not attack without Crippled Wolf’s command. To tell the truth, death was a release for them. Many in the crowd turned towards the crawling Crippled Wolf to see how he would react, but he looked as if he was wearing a mask on his face; no one could tell what was on his mind.

He grabbed the handle of the suitcase containing the new mech suit, then naturally reached for the sack that was a stinky sock.

But at that moment, Old Charlie, who had been staying quiet all this while, moved. He stepped on Crippled Wolf’s fingers. Due to his current strength, they immediately heard the sound of Crippled Wolf’s fingers breaking. Crippled Wolf let out a terrible scream!

The hunching Old Charlie coughed twice, softly, but he added more force to his foot while doing so. Crippled Wolf screamed even louder. Old Charlie then said unhurriedly, “You haven’t completed the transaction. How dare you touch my master’s property?”

Old Charlie’s action was so abrupt that many people could not get their heads around it yet. Some even felt like their brain had stopped working. The crowd only reacted after a long pause.

“He… How dare he do this?”

“He’s digging his own grave!”

“Is he tired of living?”

“…”

Old Charlie simply ignored the nonsense spouted by the crowd. He slowly bent down to pick up the sack. Seeing this, Grant laughed menacingly.

“You think you’re still a Marquis, Charlie? This sack isn’t something you can touch.”

Old Charlie stared at Grant with his dim old eyes and said slowly, “Inside this sack is the fund my master used to bid for the mech suit. I don’t care how you bicker among yourselves, but since the transaction has been cancelled, we naturally have to retrieve our assets. What’s wrong with that? Which Constitution of the great Empire did we violate?”

Old Charlie’s words made Grant choke on his follow-up remark, but a shrill, weak-sounding voice suddenly came from the box. The voice said indifferently, “Constitution? What Constitution? My words are the Constitution! And I declare that having the audacity to spout nonsense in front of me is a crime, a big crime! Kill him!”

An old voice added solemnly, “Do not use energy weapons. Pi element is unstable under high temperatures.”
