The Witch’s Convent

Chapter 5: Yuta’s Killing Intent

The blade witch, ranked as the second most powerful among the seven witches in the convent, enjoys striking when people least expect it, suddenly killing them, and then only indulging in the subtle emotional fluctuations in their confusion of "Oh, it turns out I'm already dead," which is quite extravagant.

However, this wasteful dining habit naturally cannot satisfy her enormous appetite. As a result, her hands are stained with blood debts, and the number of lives she has taken is more than the other six Nuns combined!

And at this moment, this powerful and cruelly murderous Nun was standing outside the room door, in a calm yet slightly perplexed tone, inquiring about Heidi's status inside.

Hawthorne instantly became tense, while Heidi quickly reined in all her lust, hurriedly responding: “Ah—yes! I’m feeding, don’t come in…”

Saying this, she hastily got out of bed, frantically draping the large Nun Cape over herself, while covering Hawthorne with a blanket, making him lie down—

Creak—

Obviously, Yuta did not heed Heidi’s suggestion as she pushed the door open from the outside and walked into the room. Hawthorne instinctively turned his head toward the door and, for the first time in the real world, saw this witch's appearance.

Compared to the nearly 170 centimeter tall, voluptuous Heidi, Yuta was much smaller. She should not even be 160 centimeters tall, dressed in a jet-black nun's habit that was also very fitting, with a chest curve that was not very prominent, making her look rather petite and cute.

Or more like lean and coldly beautiful.

Her delicate face showed not a single extra expression, and her large reddish-purple eyes were full of a chilling sense. Clearly dressed as a Nun, she nevertheless emitted an aura that warned others to stay away, making one involuntarily want to keep a distance.

Yet it also made some brazen individuals unable to stop imagining desecrating her, wanting to turn her cold expression into one of humiliation and confusion.

In contrast to Hawthorne's boldness, Heidi seemed startled and then quickly turned around, forcing a very strained and complaining expression at Yuta: “Why did you suddenly come in? I said I was feeding…”

She tried to gloss it over with such words, but Yuta did not pay her any mind, instead sharply sniffing, her lovely brows knitting tightly.

Such a strong scent...

A man’s, a woman’s, here, there, and… on Heidi!

But the strongest place was still on the man on the bed, that intense, male-exclusive strong scent of lust.

And on his bed, mixed with Heidi’s, was the beautiful scent of source power meant to belong solely to a witch, not to be shared with any other creatures...

They had done that kind of thing fiercely on this bed!

At this thought, Yuta's chest suddenly heaved violently. A strong anger surged up in her heart as her purple eyes looked at Heidi in disbelief: "You actually—"

Heidi's heart was also racing, but at this moment she could only put on a brave face: "What's wrong with me? What do you want?"

Hawthorne secretly looked at Yuta, feeling anxious, but then he saw the blade witch suddenly turn her head to look at him.

He was caught off guard, meeting her gem-like reddish-purple eyes, instantly feeling a sharp pain as if needles were pricking his eyes. He instinctively closed his eyes, and tears began to flow profusely.

As he cried, he couldn't help but gasp in amazement. Is this really the power of the second-ranked witch of the convent? Just a single glance, and it almost blinded him!

It's truly absurd. It seems that as an ordinary person, he has no choice but to be cautious, extremely cautious, when facing these witches!

He was secretly on guard in his heart, while at the door, Yuta's anger, fueled by his recent small action, became like adding fuel to the fire!

Dirty and despicable humans only deserve to provide us witches with souls as food, and now not only has one obtained a witch's body, but they also dare to brazenly spy on me!

This is truly an unforgivable abomination; they must be torn to pieces!

“Heidi!” she then spoke, her voice carrying an unyielding severity, “How could you do… do such a thing with him? This is a grave violation of the rules; the entire convent will be shamed because of your actions!”

She scolded, and even though, in her eyes, Hawthorne was already a dead man, she remained cautious, speaking solely of the convent's regulations and not mentioning anything about witches.

This was their unspoken understanding, to avoid revealing any weakness at any time; any lapse in caution could expose them to external scrutiny.

In response, Heidi raised an eyebrow slightly, “He is my prized possession. How I choose to enjoy his body and mind is my choice; it seems it's not your place to interfere.”

Yuta’s eyes widened in shock. “You—!”

She truly didn’t expect that this woman, who had once been mad, would now even disregard her pride as a witch and be willing to consort with a human!

Heidi stood tall, her chest held high. Although her power was inferior, her height and figure far surpassed Yuta's; at this moment, she actually had the upper hand in presence. “This is my freedom, Yuta. Please do not interfere with my preferences!”

Hawthorne listened silently, his heart racing. However, at this moment, he truly had no way out given his weak power: there was no way he could suddenly cross the seven or eight meters to Yuta's side with this frail body, which didn't have any magic, and then Purify her before she could react...

So, he could only tremble in fear.

Finally, despite having greater power than Heidi, Yuta didn't want to clash with another powerful witch over such a minor issue, so she took a step back and sighed, “Alright, I actually didn’t mean to blame you. It’s just that with your pride, doing something like this is a bit... incomprehensible.”

Heidi sneered, but inwardly she felt relieved, thinking that at least she had managed to deflect the issue.

Hawthorne also let out a sigh of relief; however, Yuta’s demands had not yet ended: “But I remember that he has been at your mercy for quite some time now? His soul is already extremely weak, so how about you let me handle him?”

Hawthorne's heart instantly dropped into his throat.

She wants him!

This request was not truly surprising among witches, especially since it was Yuta making it. Most witches preferred healthy souls, so a soul like Hawthorne's, drained for seven or eight days and extremely weak, was considered rather dull to witches.

What Yuta liked was the confusion before a human’s sudden death, which had nothing to do with the weakness of the soul. Thus, witches preferred to send those they had drained down to just a bit of soul residue to Yuta for her to kill, allowing her to minimize hunting in the slums and avoid drawing too much suspicion from outsiders due to excessive death.

So, this was a very reasonable request among witches, and in response, Heidi could only stubbornly refuse through bravado: “No way, I’m not done playing with him yet!”

But she knew that this excuse was completely insufficient, so before Yuta could speak again, she hurriedly countered: “Yuta, are you feeling very desperate lately? Or are you afraid to go out hunting? Why are you coming to demand my not yet finished pet?”

Instantly, Yuta’s eyebrows shot up in anger. “How could that be? I just feel that this person has been toyed with by you for seven or eight days, and it’s time to deal with him, so... hmm?”

As she spoke, she turned her head and carefully looked at Hawthorne on the bed. At that moment, when she focused, she was surprised to discover that Hawthorne’s soul fluctuations were bright and healthy, completely unlike someone on the verge of death!

Indeed, it would be a bit wasteful and regrettable to kill him now...

This...

“...Alright then.” She finally retreated once more and did not entangle with Heidi over such trivial matters. “I hope you can keep your boundaries and not commit further taboos that the nuns should not commit because of this one human.”

Heidi chuckled lightly, “I know, no need for you to remind me.”

Yuta said no more, turned around, closed the door, and quietly left. Then, in the room, both Hawthorne and Heidi, at this moment, couldn’t help but let out a long sigh of relief.

They had finally managed to bluff their way through!
