Chapter 255 - 255 Do you like me?

Chapter 255: Chapter 255 Do you like me?
Yang Qingyin hesitated for less than half a second before nodding in agreement.

She told Luo Ziling everything that had happened last night without reservation.

“I didn’t expect even my grandfather to be alarmed,” Yang Qingyin’s face grew even uglier as she seriously looked at Luo Ziling and whispered, “You should know who my grandfather is now, right?”

“I know,” Luo Ziling said with a bitter smile and a nod, “I know who your grandfather and your dad are, and I’m clear about the situation with my grandfather and my mom. I really never dreamt that my background would be like this. My mom really is like a princess. After finding out all this, I was completely dumbfounded. Sigh, I couldn’t have imagined your identity would be like this either, no wonder Lu Weiguang told me that I am not worthy of you.”

“Did Lu Weiguang really find you and threaten you?” Yang Qingyin’s eyebrows knitted slightly.

Luo Ziling didn’t hide anything and briefly recounted how Lu Weiguang had threatened him twice.

At this point, keeping such trivial matters secret from Yang Qingyin didn’t make much sense.

“I can’t believe he’s that kind of person,” anger flashed across Yang Qingyin’s face, “I really misjudged him.”

Luo Ziling didn’t respond as he knew that Yang Qingyin’s anger towards Lu Weiguang was because of last night’s incident, which actually wasn’t much related to their discussion today. After a moment of silence, Yang Qingyin decided to tell Luo Ziling about Ling Ruonan seeking her out.

“Actually, when we were playing on the Bashang Grassland, your mom found me secretly, behind your back, hoping that I would never come to find you again.”

“What?!” Luo Ziling, who was drinking tea, choked and started coughing forcefully before he could stop, “She actually found you? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I rejected her request, and she didn’t insist, so I didn’t tell you,” Yang Qingyin adjusted the hair on her forehead, smiled bitterly, and said, “I never expected things to turn out this way.”

“It seems we really chose the wrong place to have fun. We ran into people from the Ling Family there, my mom even came to find you, and in the end, your Yang Family found out.”

“If I’m not mistaken, because we ran into Ling Zhenghui and Ling Haijun, the Ling Family people would definitely know about us hanging out together,” Yang Qingyin said softly, looking at Luo Ziling: “A lot of people in the Ling Family are unhappy with the status of your mom and hold grudges over what she did back then, so the Ling Family will definitely take action. I think you’d better see your mom and talk about this in person.”

After pausing, she continued, “When your mom came that day, I repeatedly suggested that she see you and have a talk. She said she wasn’t ready yet. She also said that she hopes your first meeting will be at her home. She wants you to feel you have a home, a mother, no different from an ordinary family’s child.”

The words of Yang Qingyin struck Luo Ziling in the most vulnerable part of his heart, making him unable to help but feel emotional.

It looked like Ling Ruonan had also considered for a long time before deciding to see him.

Today, Ling Ruonan was ready to invite him to her house for a meal, welcoming her own child home for dinner, in the name of a mother.

Thinking about how this exciting moment was about to arrive, Luo Ziling couldn’t help but want to cry.

Yang Qingyin saw the change in Luo Ziling’s expression but didn’t ask more; she could understand why Luo Ziling would be emotionally affected after hearing about Ling Ruonan. Even the queen-like Ling Ruonan became emotionally out of control in front of her; it was entirely normal for the young Luo Ziling to be emotional after hearing about his mother.

After thinking for a while, Luo Ziling decided to tell Yang Qingyin about Ling Ruonan planning to take him to dinner, “My mom sent me a message last night, saying she wanted to meet me today.”

As soon as Yang Qingyin heard this, she was surprised and asked subconsciously, “You agreed?”

Luo Ziling nodded emphatically, “I agreed, but I don’t know what kind of mindset I should have when meeting her. I don’t know if I will cry, if I’ll find myself at a loss for words. I wonder if she will shed tears, if she will…”

He didn’t finish his sentence and his eyes began to redden.

Yang Qingyin was deeply moved; she reached out and grabbed Luo Ziling’s hand on the table, held it tight, and said softly, “Since she’s asked you to meet, to take you home for a meal, you absolutely must go. Don’t think now about what you should say or do. Once you see each other, everything will come naturally. Because you are mother and son, blood relatives, there won’t be any distance in your hearts. You don’t hate her, don’t reject her; you long to meet her and want to enjoy a mother’s love like any normal person. So don’t worry about anything.”

“Mhm,” Luo Ziling nodded vigorously, then brought the conversation back, “Your grandfather and your father were furious about our matters, what do you think about it?”

This was actually the question Luo Ziling cared about the most.

However, he already sensed something from Yang Qingyin’s earlier reactions, so he wasn’t too worried.

Yang Qingyin didn’t answer immediately but kept her eyes fixed on Luo Ziling without blinking.

Luo Ziling was a bit puzzled by her stare.

“What’s our relationship right now?” Yang Qingyin smiled bitterly, lowered her head, and said softly, “Are you my boyfriend, and am I your girlfriend?”

Luo Ziling was at a loss for words, unsure how to answer this question.

Indeed, the two hadn’t ever discussed this matter, he had never asked Yang Qingyin for her love, and she had never agreed to be his girlfriend. In reality, they had only known each other for about a month, and they didn’t actually know much about each other.

But the feeling when they were together was so good—so good that they simply didn’t want to touch upon these very mundane issues.

Everything happened naturally—holding hands, hugging, kissing, without any compulsion or contrivance.

Seeing Luo Ziling unsure how to answer, Yang Qingyin smiled bitterly again, “Actually, we are nothing, just classmates who have known each other for only about a month. That’s why when your mother came to find me, wanting me to leave your side, I said we had no commitments to each other. Without promises, how could one talk about leaving?”

Luo Ziling was a bit surprised that Yang Qingyin would say this, somewhat uncertain how to respond.

After thinking for a moment, he finally said, “Actually, some things don’t need to be said; feeling them is enough.”

“I accept what you said, but the situation is different now,” Yang Qingyin said as she let go of Luo Ziling’s hand. She then asked seriously, “Luo Ziling, do you like me, love me?”
