These Lunatics are Obsessed With Me

Chapter 31

ED: Cheerycheri

“What…?”

I couldn’t understand Eden’s words, so I frowned.

“What are you talking about?”

“Abandoning dogs you pick up is a bad thing.”

“What are you saying, really?”

I mean, when did I pick up a dog…

I was dumbfounded by Eden’s words, so I tried to shake off Eden’s arm that was holding my shoulder. However, Eden’s narrowed eyes were a bit creepy.

I only helped a person escape, not a dog. This jerk, don’t tell me?

“Now that you have picked me up, you must take responsibility.”

“WHAT?”

When I saved him, I thought about parting ways with him. Of course, I’m sorry that Eden suffered because of me, but at least he isn’t going to jail? Besides, it’s hard for me to take care of myself now.

“Hey, I also have my own problems. Let’s go our separate ways.”

I may sound cold, but I have no choice. This is the only thing I can do. If I bring Eden to the Odin Guild like this, it will be even worse for him. So I deliberately said it coldly, but it didn’t seem very effective. Eden started whining like an annoying kid.

“No, I’ll stay with you. I’m not going anywhere.”

“Haa, no… if you keep doing this, won’t you go to jail?”

“I won’t go to jail.”

“Argh, seriously!”

If that was the case, then I wouldn’t have gone to save him by myself!

The moment when I hit my chest with my hand out of frustration—

Screech!

A mid-sized sleek sedan abruptly drove into the narrow alley. The pitch-black car body glistened under the sun as if it was coated with a special paint. All the windows were tinted a dark colour, so I couldn’t see who was inside.

I looked nervously at the car that had stopped in front of us. I wrapped Eden’s arm around my shoulder with the intention of running away the moment the situation took a turn for the worst. After a while the rear seat door opened.

Thud.

A taciturn-looking man got out of the car. I opened my eyes wide at the sight of him.

“Oh, you…”

He was the person who brought me to a safe residence last night on Park Yoon-Sung’s orders. I think his name is… Yeon Seung-won? He acts like Park Yoon-sung’s secretary.

“Mr. Hunter Han Yi-jin.”

“No, how did you know I was here…”

“The guildmaster is waiting for you.”

“…!”

I got goosebumps. That shiny mid-sized sedan came straight in as if it knew I was here from the start. This is a secluded alley that you can roughly see if you were looking from the top of the building. Did he put a tracking device on me without my knowledge? When I looked at him in disbelief, Yeon Seung-won’s eyes turned to Eden next to me.

“And he told me to bring your guest too.”

“…!”

Hearing these words I looked around. Is he watching from the nearby CCTV? Then Yeon Seung-won called me strangely.

“Mr. Hunter Han Yi-jin?”

“Ah.”

Ashamed of my overthinking, I coughed.

Seriously, I did some really stupid things too. I shouldn’t underestimate the intelligence of the Odin Guild, but I can’t believe they found us so quickly. I seem to have just experienced what it’s like to be a naughty teenager coming back home after running away for a little bit.

“Hmm, let’s go.”

“Who is it?”

I looked pitifully at Eden, who was wary. He would find out soon enough when he went there.

“I told you I joined the Odin’s Guild. That person.”

“Hmm.”

Eden’s eyes scanned Yeon Seung-won, who was standing there with an expressionless face. Yeon Seung-won doesn’t appear much in the novel, probably because he’s not a hunter. If Park Yoon-sung instructed his subordinates to do something, there would be many people who would reply, “Yes, yes.” and I think he might be one of them.

There was something uneasy in Eden’s gaze as he looked at Yeon Seung-won. If Eden decides to fight him because he doesn’t like him, I can’t stop Eden. If Park Yoon-sung knows that I am with Eden, he could have just sent me bodyguards. Just what was he thinking? I sighed and grabbed Eden’s arm.

“Hey, don’t pick a fight, and you go too.”

“Me too… with you?”

“Yeah.”

Then Eden smiled, I wonder what made his mood feel better again. Eden, who hugged me, said in a pleasant tone.

“Okay, of course, I’ll follow my master.”

“Ah, seriously.”

I think I’m stuck with this weird master play. Well, I’ll tolerate him a bit since he hasn’t recovered yet. I got into the car with Yeon Seung-won, who opened the door for me, and Eden, who was hanging on my shoulder.

The safe residence of the Odin Guild was quite chilly when I returned after a few hours. It was probably not because the room temperature had dropped, but because the weather was hot outside. Park Yoon-sung, who was waiting for us, smiled as usual.

“You’re here.”

“Ah… yes.”

I lowered my head as if I was a child being punished. Surprisingly, Park Yoon-sung has the atmosphere of an educator. I haven’t been taught by anyone in over 10 years since graduation, but I feel like a young student in front of him.

“Who?”

“Ha, shut up for a second…”

Eden– who asked that to everyone he met who it was like a parrot, and I was beginning to get a little annoyed. Eden’s brows drooped as I gritted my teeth and whispered. Why was he suddenly pretending to be pitiful?

“You got more company. Hunter Han Yi-jin.”

“Ha-ha-ha…”

Park Yoon-sung’s eyes scanned over Eden and Yong-sik next to me. His eyes were surprisingly indifferent when looking at Eden, but when he saw Yong-sik, he looked a little surprised and had a strange look on his face.

“That dragon…?”

“Ah.”

“Kkyau!”

I lifted Yong-sik and slightly pushed him forward so that Park Yoon-sung could see better. Yong-sik made a cheerful sound thinking that I was playing with him, but when he saw Park Yoon-sung, he quickly bared his teeth.

“Grrr…”

“Whoa whoa, calm down. My Yong-sik-ah.”

“…Yong-sik?”

For some reason, Park Yoon-sung’s expression became subtle. But I didn’t really care and asked with a proud face.

“That’s his name. Cute, right?”

“Cute? The name?”

“Well, the name or his appearance?”

“Hmm…”

Park Yoon-sung looked at Yong-sik awkwardly. Yong-sik continued to growl unpleasantly as a stranger observed him. When I patted his head as if to comfort him, the rough and prickly scales hurt slightly when they touched my fingertips.

“I guess you’re right. He’s… cute.”

“Right?”

Park Yoon-sung nodded reluctantly and smiled awkwardly when he made eye contact with me. When I heard him say that Yong-sik was cute, I continued to speak–

“I received an egg as a reward from the SS-rank dungeon I cleared with Kang Yoo-hyun last time, and I’ve just hatched it.”

“I see.”

“It was a bit dangerous earlier, but thanks to him, I was safe. How terrifying the poison breath was.”

“Aha.”

Oh, Park Yoon-sung responded so well that I seemed to have said something unnecessary. I smiled awkwardly and put Yong-sik down near my feet.

“First, you two sit here.”

“Ah, yes.”

I nodded to Park Yoon-sung, who offered me a seat, and sat down, poking Eden’s waist with my elbow, who looked uncomfortable.

“First of all, you left here without saying anything.”

“Oh, I’m sorry. That’s…”

Park Yoon-sung, who raised his hand at me trying to make excuses, glanced at Eden next to me as he spoke.

“I understand the reason. But…”

“But?”

“What I want to know is how you got out of here.”

“Ah…”

This place, the safe residence of the Odin Guild, is guarded by numerous talented people. Especially considering the paparazzi and other guilds’ spies that followed me after the press conference, Park Yoon-sung put a lot of effort into security, even though I only stayed one night.

It’s nearly impossible to leave such a place without being caught. Without concealment skills, even SS-class Kang Yoo-hyun would have a hard time. Park Yoon-sung’s eyes narrowed.

“Are you hiding any other special skills from us?”

“Um, that’s…”

“Of course, no matter how contractual our relationship is, you are under no obligation to reveal all of your skills. Still, I want you to let me know in case something happens.”

“Umm…”

I was able to get out of the safe residence without being noticed by anyone because of the one-time item I received from Sim Dante. I received a few of them when I received my cell phone as a means of escape, and I used one this time. The A-class teleport items are able to specify the coordinates in detail and they are very useful.

But if I tell Park Yoon-sung about this, he will know that I am working with Sim Dante. I feel reluctant to talk about Sim Dante hiding his identity. Even if I personally believe in Park Yoon-sung.

“First of all, it’s not like a skill. But…”

Seeing my hesitation, Park Yoon-sung asked calmly.

“Is it difficult for you to say?”

“Yes, a little…”

“Hmm…”

Park Yoon-sung looked troubled for a moment, then opened his mouth again.

“I’m only asking this question for the safety of hunter Han Yi-jin, so please don’t take it personally.”

“No. I’m the one who should be apologising.”

I shook my head and looked at his countenance. Park Yoon-sung turned to Eden without questioning me about the item any further.

“Anyway, it’s because of you that hunter Han Yi-jin did something unexpected.”

“…”

“Nice to meet you. Hunter Eden. I’m Park Yoon-sung, the guildmaster of Odin Guild.”

Wow, as expected, he already knew who Eden was. Eden did evil things without revealing his identity even more thoroughly than Han Yi-jin. Eden can move secretly because of his wind ability. However, Park Yoon-sung spoke kindly as if he had known about Eden for a while. Eden’s thick brows curled into a frown.

“So what?”

“…”

What am I supposed to do with this rude jerk, really? Even Park Yoon-sung, who had a gentle smile on his face, suddenly stiffened. I interrupted them with an awkward smile.

“Haha, guildmaster-nim. That’s…”

“Yi Jin-ah, it hurts.”

“Be quiet for a minute.”

I spoke while grinding my teeth as I continued poking Eden’s waist with my elbow, unable to comprehend the situation. However, this pervert looked happy instead, saying it hurts. Haa, damn it.

“Well, he’s not a bad person even though he looks like this. Some things keep bothering me because his situation is similar to mine. Therefore, about the punishment please be… a little… lenient…”

Still, I thought I should save someone if I had the ability to, so I kept talking. However, Park Yoon-sung happily nodded at me.

“Yes, I will.”

“R–really?”

“Because the more talented people there are to protect Han Yi-jin, the better. Since he was from the same guild, it would be more convenient to have hunter Han Yi-jin by his side. But…”

Park Yoon-sung’s eyes became a little strange as he looked at me and Eden.

“It’s a bit surprising that you two seem to be a lot closer than I’ve investigated.”

“Ha ha ha…”
